in an age of Chinese CNC production using precision tooling, we find an artist machinist who is using much simpler methods to produce beautifully created art from the very stone that we ignore and walk on without seeing the beauty that hides within. Heinz, your work inspires other creative minds. Who thought that wood clamps, bungee cords and plywood could replace expensive CNC equipment. Bravo Bravo!

The rounding machine is next level. I like how the bungee cords allow a bit of movement but still keeps it tied together, very clever!

I love the creative solution to rounding the stone ball using 3 motors. It's jankey and held together with bungee cords but by gum it just works. Great Job.

He is a brilliant man, full of creative ideas. As a retired citizen myself, I can tell you that working with your mind and hands each day keeps you going and keeps you young. Sitting around vegetating in a home somewhere is the worst thing anyone can do. If someone is treated like an invalid day after day, they WILL become one.

It's great but don't be fooled by the apparent simplicity, this is not that simple. For this to work for a given sized ball requires the right machine power, right counterweight, right structure, right sized polisher heads,, etc.. Also this probably often fails and breaks and requires constant surpervision and maintenance. This man is more of a machinist maintenance guy than an engineer.

Ja herrlich. Meine bessere Hälfte und ich haben die Steinkugelmühle letztes Jahr im Urlaub besucht und auch an dem Kurs teilgenommen. Schön das so aufgearbeitet nochmal daheim sehen zu können; ich habe zwar selbst auch ein kleines Filmchen gemacht, aber das ist bei Weitem nicht so ausführlich geworden. Schließlich hatten wir ja alle Hände voll zu tun. Wir werden das jedenfalls nochmal machen, wenn sich die Gelegenheit bietet. Vielen Dank für diese tolle Doku :)

I found a almost perfect round rock that big (larger than finish stone) when i was running loader in a gravel pit it came off the conveyor belt before it when into the crusher... I still have the stone... NICE WORK
