I've found that because this paint has the bonding agent in it the jar lids tend to glue shut each time you use it. To fix this you can put cling wrap over the opening, then put the lid on over the cling wrap. With the plastic wrap between the jar and the lid it won't be able to form that seal and glue itself again and you won't ever pull a muscle trying to open your jar the next time.

I used this paint on my sons kitchen cupboards, about 3 years ago. They are an active, on the go family of 5. It has held up remarkably and cleans easily with soap and water. To be fair, I used a creamy white paint over stained wood and fiberboard,so I did three coats to cover. I love the finished feel of this paint and will use it again.

That's awesome to hear! I am so glad you are happy with the end result and they way it is holding up! It's a good paint!

Because of the bonding primer and topcoat that is built in, you really want to stir VERY well before using. Also, it is self leveling, so put a good amount and stop working it. Just stipple it to help it self level. Also, using self stick plastic wrap before putting the lid on keeps is from sealing. This is a very hard and durable paint, therefore when it dries it is hard to break that seal on the lid. Even though you did not paint the company recommended way, you still got a wonderful finish. Just an added note; you can also paint leather, vinyl, and smooth fabrics with this paint, now. It now has a resin added that lets it dry and still be flexible enough to keep it supple and never crack with use. Yes, I have painted cabinets, furniture and even a leather recliner with this paint. No, I do not work for this company.

I want to paint my leather couch but I am terrified that I will hate it! my major concern is that the leather will feel stiff and look painted! I am also concerned that it will crack or eventually rub off. I know I'm expecting a lot, but I would rather know than go ahead blindly and regret my decision. Please respond. Thanks!
@InOneAccord4 жыл бұрын
@@edmurphymurphy6810 You just need to clean off any body oils well. I used the HTP deglosser, but you can use non acetone nail polish remover. I sit in my recliner daily and it looks and feels just as soft and supple as the original leather and does not crack or get sticky. I have now painted 5 chairs. The leather and fabric desk chair is used by my son 8 or more hours a day. He does online education and is NOT easy on furniture and it has held up for over 10 months with zero signs of paint failure.

Thinking of using the Cashmere white on a brown cabinet. Do you know if I can just put it straight on or if I need to use a primer given the white on top of a dark color?
@BorninaBarnBoutique4 жыл бұрын
Roman Valiouline my personal opinion - prime. Whites over a dark base without primer will use a lot of the paint to get good coverage.
@blondiek89343 жыл бұрын
Make sure you degloss with either their deglosser or liquid sandpaper like from HD. one you do not have to rinse off. Let it dry. This rough up surface to give paint something to grab onto. and you can prime with water based primer...probably more economical than 3-4 coats of white like Cashmere. I'm doing my yucky 60s yellowish tile in Cashmere. Paula the developer of the paint said it should only take 2 coats with maybe some touch ups in the grout areas. A sample jar can do a pretty decent sized dresser or a front door 2 coats (with left over paint) or even a bathrooom vanity. Did you get the free sample?..one per household!Just pay the shipping. Can you tell I am excited about this paint! And sooo many beautiful colors! I'm doing my BA vanity in Mediterranean today as a matter of fact! Lol then the tile in Cashmere and my linoleum floor in Colosseum and either stenciling it or doing the marbling techniques. Good luck. Have fun painting! Ps did you know you can paint leather and short nap fabric with it? Crazy!

I just ordered the All In One for my kitchen cabinets. The company recommends using an oval chalk brush to lay the paint down and then a specialty sponge to smooth it out by stippling. Would you recommend this paint for kitchen cabinets? My 30 yr old cabinets are oak in what I would call a nutmeg color. Also, should I use a product to fill in the grain before I paint and if so what would you recommend? What about a topcoat- satin finish and one that doesn’t yellow? I love the color you tested. I’m thinking maybe that color on the bottom cabinets and white on the top.
@BorninaBarnBoutique3 жыл бұрын
You can. Its a good all in one paint. I do not use it anymore - nothing wrong with it, just have others that are my favorites. General Finishes, Fusion, Wise Owl One Hour Enamel. All of those are great paints for cabinets/furniture. If you want a complete smooth look, no grain showing, you would want to use a grain filler, you don't have to but the primer and paint will not conceal that grain. All whites will yellow with a topcoat (even water based). I would go with a paint that does not require an additional one - General Finishes Brushable White enamel or Wise Owl One hour enamel - both dry hard as can be and very durable - with a top coat in the formula as well.

Is this the same product I've seen them use for countertops? Using several colors to make mock granite or marble? Thanks in advance! Oh, if you know, what did they use for a top coat to preserve it? Maybe a marine poly? Also, is this self leveling like chalk paint so you don't have to be super careful about brush stroke direction? P. S. I keep trying to turn my volume up, but it's on full blast and I'm still struggling to hear you. I went to the next video (someone else) and about blew my ear drum out! Hehe! 😋😝🤪 I just thought you'd like to know your volume to way too low
@BorninaBarnBoutique5 жыл бұрын
So yes this is the paint they used to do countertops. I have never personally used it for that, but the company has put out videos on using it. They also just used a water based poly to protect it, not any special marine type poly. Which given a few coats, would be just fine.

I don't recommend the product especially when using light colors, The kit that Heirloom promotes is over priced the paint is very difficult to lay down properly and there is a significant learning curve in laying it down properly and again I was using a light color. The small piece of trim she used is not a good example when compared to applying the paint to a cabinet face there was a texture to the paint in spite of several coats. Incidentally we watched the videos on how to apply the paint but I still didn't see the results I hoped for. In closing Heirloom doesn't offer a money back guarantee which is indicative of a level of dissatisfaction on the part of customers who returned the product. Ultimately your taking a gamble with the product it may or may not work for you

Artistic Wastelands / Craftplayrooms you know normally I would say yes use primer - however, I have never painted leather - so I’m not sure how the primer would work (my concern would be cracking) for that I would go to their website and see if there is specific information on painting leather.
@candysnell49004 жыл бұрын
Please don't use the All In One paint on leather. Heirloom Traditions has a paint for leather, vinyl, smooth fabric and hard surfaces called Finish All. Eucalyptus is in the Finish All line. You won't be disappointed. Please watch some videos. Some people put water bottles between cushion and side of chair or backs so they don't stick together while drying. You will find lots of tips on the videos. You will also see a product called Bond-N-Flex in case you have scratches, tears or even missing areas to use before painting. It is amazing.

@@candysnell4900 Thanks for the information, this review was only on the all in one and was asked if I could do it on Leather or Fabric. With this paint I don't need to sand my kitchen cabinets at all? I can just paint over them without sanding?
@BorninaBarnBoutique3 жыл бұрын
The company says you do not have to. Heres my advice, prep is key to a excellent long lasting finish. I would scuff with a fine grit sanding pad, clean with a TSP or TSP alternative, wipe down with water, then a dry rag. This ensures you get all the stuff off the cabinets, get them really clean and by scuffing give the paint better adhesion. Just my .02 cents and it only takes moments to do! Happy Painting

Sorry for the stupid question but could I use a sanding machine to do so or is it better to do it by hand?
@BorninaBarnBoutique3 жыл бұрын
@@futbol1972 Its not stupid, I would just scuff them up with a fine grit sanding pad, not completely sand with a sander and sandpaper - just scuff them to help with adhesion

@BorninaBarnBoutique3 жыл бұрын
Julie Stout so I have never painted countertops and like anything I’m sure the prep is key and how you finish it off. I would check out their site to see if they have recommendations about painting countertops with this - I have seen a video on it - so I know it can be done - you just want to make sure you follow all the steps for the best end result

Paula, the owner and developer of the paint has done many countertops! Just need to degloss well and follow her techniques.and polyacrylic top coats. she even did a marbling of an ugly old Formica meeting table with the tissue paper technique. Im so amazed and impressed. FB group is Heirloom Traditions -check it out if you haven't already. She paints leather and fabric sofas and canvas convertible tops!! It's so wild.!!! So cool to see what eveyone is doing on there!! I spend way too much time. But hey that's how we watch try and learn! Just not sure how well it holds up. I try to find old posts on FB and ask them for updates after a year. This lady did her huge bathroom floor in the paint and the stenciled with another color of paint..right over her tile. You csn paint linoleum. Just high traffic areas needs several coats of polyacrylic. Not sure if the polyurethane is ok..if its oil based? Or even epoxy acrylic? Gorgeous!

First of all, you were supposed to clean it with their cleaner which is inexpensive then you have to put it on with a smaller brush or the round brush you only take off one side of it and you put a generous amount on and then you have to roll it or add it with the ad that they sell and then you won’t have any bubbles and then the first coat is called the ugly coat and the second coat should do it and it has a curing time it is all in one but if it’s not clean it won’t stick and you’re gonna have a mess if he was to do large cabinets or even granite so you need to look at tutorials to get the right outcome. Thank you very much Gerri D’Agostino in love with Traditional All In One Paint ! Good luck.

You don't have to clean with their brand cleaner, you can choose any furniture prep cleaner of your choice. I have been painting furniture successfully for 7 years and have a thriving business - I am familiar with the process - thank you for your input and thank you for watching.

Her sample was a new pre primed piece of crown. No need to use prep. The prep they sell is for degreasing and de glossing old finishes. Not necessary on new primer.

As an extensive user of this product, which I love totally to redo my whole home and others, you must use the restore, which will open the wood grain and take any dirt debris left over, especially in the kitchen and you must clean it very well after mini times, the oils from the kitchen will bacon and bacon Until it turns to a hard substance and that Hass to be cleaned off! I’m trying to be as positive as I can to help you! Second of all, you need the tools that go with this product there’s a stippling brush a roller brush that will take all the paint streaks off and catches any dripping or Miss places there’s two products of such one is a small roller which I prefer that you barely go over you do not get it in hard. In other words just take your finger off and just barely lightly go up up and down and all around first, trying it by rolling it lightly over your finger and there should be no pressure or indention on your finger and that will take out any trips or miss places with out, leaving any brush marks! There’s tutorials that go along with this and I suggest that you look at them all as you will become faster and a more professional luck, and be amazed at all the things that you can do with this product. Sincerely, Gerri D’Agostino.
