Only today (2020) do I find out Helen Shapiro is not American! Funny how we "interpret" the singing voices and vocal styles of performers. Many, many stories in the music industry along these lines. The days of guessing - pre internet.

She is so special! I live in the USA and she was not properly promoted here(circa1961-62). The first time I heard her I was flabbergasted as to how good she is! I think she is every bit as good as Connie Francis. Brenda Lee. etc. She is still very attractive for her age- in America we say time has been very kind to her, I suspect her work for Yeshua has something to do with this. She seems so kind and humble with the talent she has been given. May God bless her soul!

Helen's late brother, Ron, was with Chabad Lubavitch. I, myself, spent a lot of time with them (here in the States). I know that Helen and Ron had planned on a reconciliation (though neither one were going to budge theologically) when Ron prematuredly died. Don't worry, Neal: Yeshua and The Rebbe are in Gan Eden together!

I came to Christ shortly after reading Helen's autobiography. Up until then I was with Chabad, just like her brother Ron. I love how The Beatles were once her opening act. I was at one of their last live shows (Shea Stadium, N.Y.C., 1966) with my brother (and Jonathan, son of Saul was there, too). Four years later, my brother (whose a musician) was opening for Jimi Hendrix in Los Angeles. It was the first night of Pesach, 1970. He performed a song he had written that night publically for the first time. You can find this on youtube: 'Buddy Miles'; album name-'Them Changes'; and the name of the song is-"I Still Love You, Anyway." As you probably know, Neil: The 'karpas' being dipped in the saltwater represents the tears of the Jewish people in exile. It was what Jesus gave Judas at their last Pesach together. Before I came to Christ, I also read Stan Telchin's "Betrayed". If you've read Helen's autobio, then you will understand this: I now have a strange urge to listen to The Beatles' "From Me To You." See ya, later.

Like so many others, Doris Day, Andy Williams, Perry Como, Frank Sinatra, Patti Page, Cilla Black, and on and on....she just opens her mouth and THERE IT IS! And they know exactly what to do with it. OH, and Dusty Springfield and Petula Clark. So many more too. What a talent. I just love you all.

I went through the same thing. I was at a summer camp. They had to put some of the Jewish kids, or kids with Jewish names, in separate cabins because of 'you killed Jesus' stuff. I remember getting into a fistfight with a Catholic kid who accused me of killing Jesus. This occured right at the start of the Sixth Day War; with me at the time was my earliest childhood friend, Jonathan son of Saul. The last time I saw Jonathan was a few years back when he just completed a tour working for The Rolling Stones. He is still a non-believer, I believe; but I believe. My sympathies stop being for the devil a long time ago. The music business is a hell of a business. I love your testimony, Ms. Shapiro.

Anyway, three years later, I was at a boarding school in New Hampshire with Judy Collins' kid sister. I had just come from playing pinball one day when she played the entire 'Tommy' album (The Who), ending with "We're Not Gonna Take It": "Welcome to my camp, I guess you all know why we're here. My name is Tommy and I became aware this year...". At the time, Judy Collins was touring on behalf of her top 20 version of 'Amazing Grace.'

Doubting Thomas why would you, or Helen for that matter, join a religion that blames your people and ancestors for killing their god? These attitudes are what made European pogroms and the Holocaust possible. Not to mention worshipping a human god is idol worship, which is anathema to Judaism and still a majority of Jews.

Helen Shapiro's "Cry My Heart Out" (once again): I love the line that goes-"...The whole world can take a holiday." John Lennon was born between Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur (Oct., 8, 1940-Tishrei 6). I'm sure you all know that Helen recorded the original version of "It's My Party." And then there was the song that John wrote for her (with Paul, maybe?): 'Misery.' The last thing Brian Epstein did alive: He was reading a love story about a Jewish rabbi and a Christian woman. The last thing John Lennon ever did alive? Billy Preston, who became 'The Fifth Beatle' (unofficially, of course), after Brian died. Mr. Preston recorded the original version of "My Sweet L-rd", he also played keyboards on George Harrison's "The Art Of Dying"; and then there was that duet he recorded with Stevie Wonder's ex-wife (Syreeta Wright): "With You I Am Born Again." John 20:28: "My L-rd, My G-d." Amen!

Helen Shapiro's "Cry My Heart Out". There's a line in this song that goes:"...The whole world can take a holiday...". Helen was born on Rosh Hashanah (Sept., 28, 1946). I share the same birthday as Beatles' manager, Brian Epstein (September 19th.). He was born on Yom Kippur. September 19th. last (2018) was also Yom Kippur; however, the September 19th. on which I was born (1956) was Erev Sukkot, The Feast Of Tabernacles. The number one song the day I was born was "Don't Be Cruel". An Elvis quote: "There is no 'king of rock'. There is only One King: The L-rd, Jesus Christ. After Brian Epstein died, the man who was known as 'The Fifth Beatle', Billy Preston (with Syreeta Wright): "With You I Am Born Again." Also, when Brian Epstein died, they found this book next to his body: Noah Gordon's "The Rabbi." What's it about?!

Snide comments about Jewish control over the media and Jews having special advantages aren't the same thing as burning down a shul, but they're the low-level anti-Semitic cultural background noise that allows the more active anti-Semitism of vandalism, guys waving tiki torches and chanting "Jews shall not replace us!" and assault to take root and flourish. And of course the hypocrites who rant about Democratic Party Nazis out of one side of their mouths keep the other side closed tight in the face of actual anti-Semitism in their own communities.
