I have used this tutorial several times. As you say, the results are always different, but it always looks Helena-esque. I have to braid my hair first while it is wet to get it to have enough texture to work like this, but it is so much fun! Totally worth all of the work.

Its kind of Hard to explain but you want the bobby pins to go all the way down to the scalp. Don't worry to much about them showing the hairstyle is meant to look a little messy, and you can always pull bits of hair out to cover them up later.

What ever it takes to keep it in place, I usually do a mix of both big and small pieces. the more little pieces you do the more texture and crazy it'll look, the bigger pieces are gonna look more smooth and in one piece its gonna look. The Hair style is suppose to be messy so the less put together it is the better.

Also Because I didn't do it in this video but if you french braid (Or even regular braid ) Your hair the night before while it's wet, That make it look pretty cool too.

YOU ARE SO COOL. My hair is like 3 feet long (not exaggerating) and I never do anything interesting with it I always just do a side braid or wear it out. I feel like I waste my hair by not doing more interesting styles with it, I mean, imagine how crazy I could make it considering the length! You have inspired me to try something more interesting, cus you showed that it doesn't have to be perfect to look amazing. So I will give it a go. YOU LOOK SO FABULOUS, AND I LOVE THE FLOWERS YOU PUT IN :D

A good way to anchor some down is by putting one going in one direction \ and have another connecting through it or on it in the opposite direction /. The way I usually check to make sure everything is in pretty stable is I shake my head around alittle. If you feel any pulling from certain bobby pins you'll want to re do those ones otherwise you'll be in pain and that's not what we want.

Thanks for sharing hun. I think the look you've shown is great and really suits you too. I cut different lengths into my hair, shorter at the top and medium length at the back but i'm going to try to incorporate your way, to give more height to my hair. It'll save time backcombing! lol Love your friendly manner too, some people who do tutorials come across as bit cocky but you don't at all. Thanks again. :o)

Well It's been this length for probably 4 years took me probably 2 years and only cutting it once to get to this length but it wont grow any longer :(
