I updated this, but it's not letting me edit the comment lol so here my observations: 2004: Gerard was still into very much screamo music and it didn't match the vibe that well, he also seemed to get breathless quickly which showed he probably didn't sing this hardcore frequently, (I believe they didn't tour bullets? correct me if I'm wrong.) he seemed very eager to impress but then tried too hard and then it completely changed the vibe of Helena. 2004 was also when Helena first came out so I doubt he had much time to practise singing it, especially while live. 2005: (forgot to add this in the first time I did it lol) i think what happened here was that he was jumping around too much and that didn't leave much room for impressive vocals like what Helena needs- blame gee for being too much of an entertainer lol, but you can hear he's got way more skill than in 2004, probably from more practise. idk what year, just that it was during TBP: Idk why, but Gerard during this era was either so fucking good or just flat-out screams, which could be good? Idrk, definitely didn't match Helena at all though. Not many observations for this one, it seems like his voice had already adapted to singing TBP songs so going back to 3 cheers might've been tough on him? 2007: very much at his best, or he wasn't jumping around as much, or this vocal performance was just a good one for him. I think this was after TBP had died down and they were just doing shows for the fun of it, so he wasn't solely focused around that one album- I don't know much about the actual show I'm just going off his hair colour =.= 2011: You can really hear how his relapsing and all that is affecting his voice, and I kinda also feel like he'd adapted his voice to better fit the DD songs or whatever, again like he probably did in TBP. 2019: He sounds a lot less raw in these, but I like it! He's not jumping around and doing Gerard things so he probably isn't exhausted, and I feel like in his off time he's had a lot more time to refine his voice and make it sound more professional while performing. observations for helena when performed live: helena has a bunch of SFX like reverb and fancy sounds which can only be made digitally, and a lot of this was done to Gee's voice which can't be replicated in real life (ESPECIALLY the bridge) and then it just sounds a bit silly. The intro also sounded a bit weird because of the lack of SFX, now don't get me wrong I absolutely love everything about the song- I think it could've been adapted better for playing live instead of just playing it the same but like someone stripped all the effects. Let me know if I'm wrong or if you wanna add to this, this is just what i found :D he sounds great in all these clips. edit: also I frequently come back to this, I'm thinking about adding more as I've recently gotten more into MCR as a whole

they put autotune on him for vengaza (2007) i think?? idk but it sure sounds like it lol also they did tour bullets :] theres a lot of live performances of them from 2002-2003 playing bullets songs and even early versions of songs that would later go on revenge!!

Just a small correction: they definitely toured Bullets - it's what put them on the map thanks to Eyeball Records and their tour guys pushing the street team. I think they did over 200 shows in 2002 alone? Maybe that was 2003. I remember their old website posting about it way, way back in the day.
