Imogen is such a natural beauty.

Nice dialog, it gives a great insight into how the thinking of the model evolves. Imogen makes a great point about 2:40 about "embodying a character that he [Mark] wants me to be. That idea has been very helpful to me, giving the model or models a bit of a story to explain who they are and what they're feeling. Then often they will take that initial idea and make it their own, taking the shoot to places I hadn't envisioned -- some of the best results come from the model taking ownership of the story.

Really cool to see a more candid side of Imogen.

Well, Imogen and Helen, what a treat. Welcome to stardom or at least notarity on the internet. The main strength of the Internet was also it's weakness. For every viewer that is serious about photography there are a dozen pimple covered pervs lurking in their mom's basement saying things they wouldn't have the guts to say in person. As far as revealing poses, I am of the opinion that you can go as far as both you and the photographer are comfortable with. I said it before and I'll say it again, if a model is uncomfortable then it shows in the final image and it doesn't work. Good luck Helen on your new site.

Thank you once again Imogen and Helen too of course coz it's your channel , and I've just subscribed , by the way Helen if that's okay with you. I've said it before on Imogen's channel that I'm not a photographer or even an amatur in the modelling industry. I'm just a fascinated ordinary shmo who's very intrigued by the processes customs and procedures of your industry . Thank's once again for the insight. Oh and in answer to the question, "Can you be too revealing?" I suppose the answer is , yes of course you can, but at the same time no you can't. It all depends on the context of the job I suppose and the branch of modelling you're doing too. If glamour is your thing I suppose you're comfortable showing a lot and with fashion modelling , not so much? I don't know. Like I say I'm not even an amatur in your industry. Just a fairly inocent bystander, curious about what you and your photographer do.The whole thing fascinates me.

Great video and very interesting topic. Imogen, although I agree strongly with your perspective, I would like to point out that in any art project, being overly concerned with how hundreds or thousands of people might interpret a photo ( sexual, implied or otherwise ) could drive any sane person mad! It is understandable that you would want to make an effort to deliver work that you feel comfortable about, but you can not control and sate the minds of all the "art critics", nor should you be losing sleep over whether a flip of the hair, or a freckle on your neck, etc... might inadvertently send a sexual message to someone. I know that's a little over the top, but basically I'm saying " your art should not suffer to please the masses". Do what makes you feel comfortable, that's great, but people will see what they want to see in a photo, no matter what precautions you take. Love the work you young ladies are doing and love the videos. Have a wonderful day. PS. Always remember, when you pose as a model, it is a collaboration between you and the photographer, whether you are being paid or not. Don't be afraid to vocalize your comfort zone and your concerns. If things don't feel right, Walk. There's a photographer and a model for every type of work out there, it's just a process finding the right ones to mesh together for any given project. One man's trash is another man's treasure, couldn't be more true than with photography. :)

Interesting topic. I for one think Imogen is very beautiful, but have absolutely no wish to see more of her than we have! If I may make one observation which I hope is not our of place, if you wanted me to say which shots of Imogen I find for want of a better word "sexy", then it is unequivocally the "Film Noir" shoots. It's the idea, the character that is sexy, not just showing lots - which is not really that interesting. So don't change!

A naked body is not a crime. As a naturist and a photographer I've seen lots and really it's no big deal. On a shoot you hardly notice the model is naked. I'm very careful of what is then shown of course because there are so many people around that see nakedness in a very different way. It's not their fault, it's just what they have been programmed to believe.

I find implied nudity more erotic than nudity itself. Imogen has the most beautiful eyes. Those and her smile are what I like best about her photos.

It’s context, plenty of Oxford and Cambridge students have stripped off for calendars or parties, without the foresight to realise they’ll end up on porn sites And then there’s people who have gone on to become teachers only to be sacked when their pictures of past catch up with them 🤷🏻‍♂️

It seems a lot of the images on Imogen's page involves her sitting with her knees up under her chin ,wearing a short skirt. Does her photographer have an explaination for this?

Imogen isn't really prudish about her cleavage, she once did a video about that topic on weeklyimogen. I really admire and respect her point of view and a beautiful woman in a beautiful picture is beautiful even without showing much skin. It can also be sexy without much skin, or even a tiny bit of cleavage. Sure there are many beautiful pictures with (female) nudity, but that isn't the reason why those are great pictures.

Done about 180 shoots with about 50 models and never photographed anything the model did not want to do and never shown anything that the model did not want to be shown so I find this conversation a little strange.

AAAGGGHHH, the bloody music in the background! Why??? And by the same token, it doesn't need the constant flicking from one camera shot to another either. It's an interview, not The Fast And The Furious. Having said all that, though, a very interesting interview.

Interesting topic, it's always been apparent to me that Mark's images have an obvious erotic charge, regardless of the subjects' level of undress. I'd assumed that was the intent, and don't think the undesirable viewers Imogen describes are seeing something that isn't there. I'm a wee bit surprised at her revelation here. Mark's work (to me at least) definitely has a voyeuristic atmosphere, depicting subjects (not just Imogen) who appear totally raw, submissive, a little self conscious, and sometimes even worryingly vulnerable. That has it's own type of appeal and inevitably attracts a certain audience. It has little to do with how much skin is visible in my view. High fashion nudes by Avedon, Newton or Meisel, for instance, aren't remotely exploitative, as some of Mark's images appear to be.

helen, from a production standpoint, your left side camera angle was a little too hot. You came a little close to blowing highlights. it's also pretty obvious that they were different camera brands. As for the content, I think it's wonderful to hear more from a models standpoint on the art. I think as photographers, we tend to think you guys are a prop and forget you're people.

Hi Imogen, Helen. I enjoy looking at, and commenting on your videos. You all are gorgeous but most importantly quite human. Unlike the conventional movie goddesses who are unapproachable. Yeah. You do realize the world is full of wierd people. I certainly would not watch so religiously if it was a guy explaining photography. A good amount of feminine pulchritude goes a long way. Normal?
