Heliconius butterflies belong to the brush-footed butterflies and are commonly known as the longwings or heliconians. They are found throughout the tropical and subtropical regions of South America and also as far north as the southern United States. Common kinds are Zebra Longwings, Postman Butterflies, Doris Butterflies, and Tiger Longwings.
