Here I give you my thoughts on the Smock which I've had for about 6 months and my new trousers.

I got this Woodsman Anorak too and it's my favorite jacket. Got one for my kid too. And I just ordered these pants so I'm here watching videos about what I'm waiting to arrive in the mail 🤣👍

I’ve the the Anorak, I really like it. Love those big side zips. Great for venting heat and ease of getting the anorak on and off. It’s an absolutely feature packed outer layer, that roo pockets is great too.

Iv got the anorak but I'm from Australia. No way you can wear it in summer. Way too hot even with the zips undone. That said I love it. The pockets are the perfect size for my monocular and range finder when I'm hunting. No need for a bino harness.

Thanks for the review Rob. I am fast becoming a big fan of Helikon tex. I have two or three of their products and they are all excellent value for money. For someone like myself, who does not get the opportunity to get out every week, this brands products offer the ideal balance of quality and price. Excellent stuff.

Good review Rob. I ihave been looking at the pilgrim smock....as I have a bit of ventile laying around somewhere....I might copy some of the features, bit in a single layer

Great video Rob, I have been looking at those trousers for a while looks like I need to get me a set. Tops I am sorted for but nice matching look a bit like a Bushcraft shell suit look :) Autumn has come early this year proper with the weather, was out last weekend at a new site and had to change from summer sleep system to a warmer one.

i have a couple of helikon-tex windproof smocks ... am impressed with the quality, (also have a numbat chest rig and foxtrot waist rig they make, also top quality)

I´ve had the Woodsman anorak for a few weeks. A nice anorak with excellent venting zips in the side, especially when riding my bicycle they are nice for letting steam out when fully open. Windproof but does not stand up to rain very well. I carry a small rain poncho folded up in the front pocket. I´m sure it is good in the winter also, I bought mine big enough with plenty of room for layers to put under.

I've used mine on the bike and it was very good. I have a double layer Ventile smock for winter which is warm and waterproof, but it cost a hell of a lot more than the Helikon tex smock.

The woodsman anorak is fantastic! My only gripe is that they don't produce a female version, my girlfriend is really envious. Helikon tex make really good quality clothing and gear at a very reasonable price.

I am looking at the pilgrim jacket and trousers, after your review I think it is a definite.

Well worth it mate, I'm going to get the Pilgrim trousers next. I washed them both on the weekend after a campout and they washed well, dried quickly on the line aswell, going to wax the knees and shoulders soon with Greenland wax.

I bought the pilgrim anorak 3XL in February and have worn it a temperatures at freezing and below. It is lined, yes, but not too bad, since ot has those fancy underarm zippers. I hope to put a coat of wax on it, just the upper portions, some time later this fall.

I'm thinking of doing the same with the hood and shoulders of the woodsman's anorak and the knees of the trousers.

Seems to be high quality gear. I prefer ease of front opening jacket over Anorak and venting qualities in a primarily warm climate, but like Anoraks in snowy conditions. Cheers

Smocks are a pain to get on and off but the side zips are excellent for venting and getting on and off.

Rob, I watch your videos, I like them. You use similar tools as me, for example Fallkniven :) Anorak, well designed by the guys from Survivaltech, but its performance leaves a lot to be desired, especially after 4 washes. When an anorak is just Fjallraven no. 8. Regards and welcome to my channel.

I've only washed mine once, I don't tend to wash my outer garments often, only if they are really dirty..

@@RobEvansWoodsman Me too, like every guy :) but I had it for a long time. In Poland, you could buy it two years ago. Hence my opinion. I changed to Fjall and I am MEGA satisfied. And that wind on my back.

Great review. I’m interested in a pair of these but not sure of sizing. You don’t look like a 38” waist - do you normally take this size or is it just in these trousers & is there any stretch in them at all ?? Just bought a pair of hybrid outback trousers, I’m normally L-XL but ended up with a Medium for the correct fit.

I'm a 38 normally but I've put some weight on recently so the XXL in their sizing (38_40) fits me, I have large legs do even if I loose a waist size I'm still that size, excellent clothing I now have the pilgrim smock and trousers aswel. Velcro instead of a button so there is a bit of movement in the waist band. I'll never buy a pair of Fjalraven trousers again.

Been interested in this anorak for some time. What size did you get Rob for your height? By the way, hope the Llangenach crash wasn't close to your stomping grounds.

Nowhere near me but not far from the in-laws, not a lot mentioned about it although it looked pretty serious. I'm 5'8" and 46 chest and I bought a large. Can't get a wool shirt under it.
