This is the new production Helios 40-2-N (N - for Nikon mount), there is the original Helios 40-2 that was produced in the USSR after Helios 40 production ceased. It has the tripod mount!

Thank you Roman. My black 40-2 [861877], made in the same factory, has a tripod mount and weighs 902g without 67mm filter. It is a M42 thread mount.

Hi Patrick! You have old USSR 1986 made version. I talk about new one, from re-newed production from 2013. They are quite different

@@RetroFotoHouse Yes, with the added "bonus" of a small amount of oil on a few of the aperture blades :-)

i had both, helios 40 silver is better on colour but 40-2 is sharper, i prefer silver helios 40. it produces dream images!!

bookeh beast,i wish i could afford one ... i love the warm touch of all zeiss glasses and i would prefer the old version. i like the heavy feeling of all the glass and metal XD, nice review, happy new year!

Nice, which of the Helios 40-2 versions do you recommend? As far as I saw there are Helios 40-2, Helios 40-2 (Zenith from 2013), Helios 40-2 (Zenith from 2019) versions available, right? Any comment would be great. Thnx.

I review helios 40-2 from 2013. In my point of view it is better than helios 40

@@RetroFotoHouse I know you reviewed Helios 40 vs. Helios 40-2. There are some versions of Helios 40-2 (not Helios 40), see above and here: www.slrlounge.com/russian-lensmaker-zenit-announces-new-helios-40-2-85mm-f1-5/ Some have Zenith Logo, some not.

yes, i review helios 40-2 2013 production. The one in your link is from 2019. It is a bit of different body design.

You have an eBay store by the same name (retrofotohouse) correct? If you are the one I bought a Helios 44 adapted to Nikon F mount, well I am very impressed!

Hey so I got one yesterday. The 40-2. But mines does not have the traditional 6XXXX or the N7XXXX. Mine is like yours. It says “150204” What does this mean? Is there a different between them?

nice video RETRO,like to ask you something I have the silver 40 1.5,but need the tripod MOUNT.....NOT THE SAME YOU HAVE BUT THE ONE THAT GOES AR.OUND,,,,,,,like yours have screws 3 of them mine its the ring around .T Y
