I also love the FG-42. You can tap fire it and use it as a semi-auto rifle or go full auto and use it like a submachine gun at close range. In my opinion it is the most versatile weapon in the game. The iron sights are cleaner and easier to make longer ranged shots than the STG-44.

Definitely an underrated gun i love it as well shotty is my all time fave tho up close shots geek me when they just turn into pink mist

Automatic rifleman if I remember correctly. Pretty sure it’s the only class that has this weapon as well.

It’s a good gun, I find myself needing to always 2 tap people with it tho.

One of the worst weapons. Huge recoil, tiny mag, no single rate of fire mode etc. Just overall bad. Not worth the grind. I've essentially never used it after unlocking it

I do believe that the stg44 kit is objectivily better however i also prefer the fg42 because of its burst potential and i like the sight if they add selectfire and its tripod the weapon will become even better since singleshots can be tricky

Maybe you should get better with it it really does have all that you listed but once you play and get it feel it really is a hard hitting gun...
