How is anyone surprised by this shit still? You really thought you could make drill music blow up on an international level the way it did with chief keef, durk,etc. and not have a few slim jesus's? This shit has been going on forever in hiphop, but particularly with anything gang related. It starts from a real place, after a few people do it someone who either thinks it looks cool or thinks it's a good way to make some money does basically an impression of it, that opens the door to other people who were either fans who wanted to do it but were scared of the rejection or other artists who see the financial benefits and sooner or later the fake completely outweigh the real . Internationally popular types of music are never going to remain local, right now there's probably a kid in fuckin Germany makin drill beats, throwin up forks and talkin about drillin das opps. It's ridiculous but it's how it's always been. The point dude made about chicago's southside being relatively new to the rap shit might be why these fools are more shocked than like a cali blood rapper would be by young thug or whatever, they've seen so many people fake it at this point it's just business as usual, chicago hasn't had their gang culture hijacked and turned into a joke yet.
