You can let civilians die in this mission and still accomplish it but in the "Protect Valuable Assets" missions, you can't accomplish the mission unless every single one of the rockets launches. Those rockets happen to be the same ones as the kind you enter at the end of the tutorial, so they're likely full of frozen Helldivers. Super Earth will let you get away with some normal civilian deaths but will not tolerate a single loss of a frozen Helldiver, so yes, Helldivers definitely are the most valuable.

One of the in-game theory is that instead of frozen Helldivers, theses rockets contain prisoners from the first Galactic War, especially Cyborgs and other abominations that could be unleashed if Helldivers doesn't do their job. That would be why the enemies are so desperate about attacking theses.

Makes perfect sense, since we are the ones who are doing all the difficult and dare I say most important job, which is Spreading Managed Democracy.

Jesus, this community is dedicated to role playing. If you have time and playing with a teammate you can die as many time as you can without penalty as long as there is still 1 player left on the field only when extracting you get penalty, this mechanic encourage players to extract with squadmate, wait for them to extract together, not trolling killing each others.

It's very good at encouraging teamwork. It's such an insane situation the game throws you into that you can very easily build a bond with your fellow helldivers. All 26 of them you'll encounter in a mission after they die one by one.

The whole game has satiriric elements that follow orwell's ideas "Every animal is equal, but there are animals that are more equal" is a famous quote in animals farm from orwell, initally it was "every animal is equal" and was written by animals after their revolution, but after pigs gained power and started to act like humans they decided to change it into that. That's where it comes this hd2 quote about citizens.. even tho helldivers aren't in power and they also are getting butchered to lower population (conspiracy theory i don't know if that is real) There are plenty of these references to orwell, in fact another one of the tips references tought crime, a particular crime that is the prominent in 1984; or the political structure in the game is very similar to the one in hd, having Ministries that have similar works to those in 1984, for example the ministry of truth censors information letting the population know only the right informations or getting gaslighted by it We helldivers are important only to be the arms and legs of the super earth
