Reach out to them and tell them to look at buffing the arc thrower. It keeps receiving indirect nerfs.

the antitanks actually can oneshot their leg armor plates, you just need to give them momentum. They falloff by one damage which removes their breakpoint to kill the plate, but if youre moving forward your velocity offsets the falloff and they can once again strip the leg plates.

The flamethrower is alot of fun to use on bugs. Love the crazed laughter and shouts when you use it for several seconds. Really hoping they don't nerf the flamethrower but instead buff some of the other available options to make them more viable to use.

Agree 100%, they messed up bugs with this behemoth sh!t in my opinion. Also the Bots with the newly introduced gunship patrols force your loadout to allways be viable against multiple gunships, to deal fast enough with them, especially as a solo player. They achieved exactly the opposite of what they wanted, again significantly less build variety.

I've been using flamethrower since the update. Not because it is meta, but because the flames look cool when I'm on stims. No I'm not addicted to stims. I can quit any time.

The anti tank is bugged and is doing 649 damage instead of 650 it's supposed to be doing due to damage falloff calculation. If you move foward while shooting it will 1 shot them because these parts have 650 Hp.

Quasar still has long range utility with no ammo concerns or backpack reliance. In calmer moments I can use it to snipe Sporeshrooms, Shrieker nests, bug holes, and automaton buildings if the angle is right.

Pretty sure this is unintended because the dammage of anti tank is supposed to be 650 and the leg is exactly 650. It's likely the damage falloff calculation is making it the anti tank weapons do like 649 damage instead. Making it not break the armor

I’m seeing more chargers, not less. They’re spawning in pairs. You can easily end up with 4 chargers right after diving.

The rates of enemy types that spawns during a mission is calculated once BEFORE a mission. You can have that unlucky mission and get 40% chargers and get 2 chargers in most patrols + 4 chargers at every bug breaches. Or you can get 3 chargers and only trash bugs for the whole mission (yes, it happened on helldive difficulty). The range of this RNG is the real problem. Helldive missions can go from very easy to absolute hell just because RNG

I'm like 99% sure it was a glitch but one of the patrols me and my buddy encountered on a 5 difficulty mission was 4 chargers walking towards us in a conga line It was really funny

Yeah I had over 6 chargers on me all I had was a quasar cannon I did live and ended killing most of them just to die to my own teammates air strike

omg yes thank you i'm not the only one noticing that! my friends and myself encoutered soo many more chargers than before in difficulties 7-9! especially the new charger behemoth type that suddenly became super common. as for the titans, i didnt see any difference

What difficulty do you play, friend? I typically play 9 (unless I feel like answering sos beacons) and I found that was pretty standard pre patch. I also found that 8s are worse than other difficulties...even 9s.

I think they forgot to reduce the number of chargers per patrol when replacing them with behemoth version. I saw 3 behemoth and 1 charger in single patrol

Prior flamethrower fan, I was grenade launcher + Supply Pack spam. Would just rely on 500kg/Orbit and my allies to deal with Titans and Chargers while I cleared the trash (well still do as flamethrower)

TBH the problem with the OG flame thrower was that enemies straight up ignored that they are burning. So they just ramped up damage by god knows how much by now. Shorter time to kill as crowd control is effective but they should just make enemies flinch and stagger from time to time.

I think the best solution to this problem is to either decrease behemoth rates, or preferably decrease head health/durability to that of the regular charger

Moving forward cancels out damage fall-off, which is usually at least 1 even at those relatively close ranges. It's strange, I know.

​@@manbaby9166well a single stun grenades makes chargers somewhat easy to kill in groups of friends or if you have an orbital/eagle airstrike to call in. Or even if you have just clear all the little ones then stun them run around and mag dump into the butt.

A wise man once asked, "How do you like your zerg, regular or extra crispy?" One the one hand, fire is still riding high on all the buffs it generally got while they appeared to be not understanding that it wasn't being used because it didn't work for anyone but hosts. On the other, I think it mostly marks the point other things need to be buffed too rather than deserving a nerf. The better non-fire options are already up there with or even better than fire, at least situationally. Basically the apparent desire by the old balance team to make the game high ttk canceled out with their misunderstanding of why nobody was using fire and they accidentally landed it in a fairly good spot that other under performing stuff should aim for. Also the charger behemoth is a mistake and it is fucking up the bug meta. The flamethrower is the only viable bug support weapon.

It depends on the team composition though. If somebody else uses the flamethrower, I can still do a lot of damage with the Quasar or the Spear from behind and have multiple extra use cases, e.g. long shotting Shrieker Towers.

Use stun grenades. You don’t have to bring anti-tank against chargers if you use the new Bushwhacker shotgun (use triple shot mode for best results) and a fast firing weapon to quickly destroy a Behemoth Charger’s tail.

It’s only a mistake because the devs messed up the spawns again. Far less chargers were supposed to spawn this update. Behemoth chargers were supposed to be a replacement for multiple chargers spawning. The game wasn’t supposed to spawn multiple Behemoths at once. I think they’re a dope enemy type, they just need to fix the spawns is all.

there def are. there are mod in breeches, patrols, and randomly at points of interest sometimes. trying to run away from chargers usually gets you into a chase with even more chargers out of pure chance. so you kinda have to lock in once you see one.

The gas orbital is also fantastic. Just drop it on a bug breach every time it comes off cooldown and watch the kills stack!

I have juggled between the gas strikeand napalm, and i gotta stay i’m sticking with the napalm. I feel like its better dealing with bug breaches overall.

I'm a little sad the incendiary breaker is now top of the charts because the playstyle isn't the most fun. But hey, peppering enemies and watching them die works super well.

I don't have that upgrade unlocked and flamethrower still wrecks chargers in a 4 seconds of leg burning, and still works more than great against everything below the charger.

I really think the Normal Breaker and Spray and Pray shotguns need buffs. It’s not that they’re bad it’s just that the incendiary breaker is just the best if both worlds with the bonus of doing fire damage. If it were me, I’d just give the Normal breaker more ammo per mag, even if it’s just one extra round. The spray and pray should use buckshot instead which means more damage, but it should have way more ammo in reserve. Like 8 or 10 reserve magazines. So if it were me it would look like this: - Breaker : Highest damage per shot but limited ammo capacity. - Breaker Incendiary: Good damage per shot, good ammo capacity, and of course fire damage. - Breaker S&P : Does the same damage as the Incendiary Breaker but much more reserve ammunition.

The fact the damage is inconsistent to kill some enemies as you mentioned is due to weapons having a damage drop off of ≈1 as soon as you shoot them and the way the game calculates damages based on projectile velocity means that when you move forward, if you are within a somewhat close distance, you can counteract the damage drop off. This is likely an unintentional feature due to the calculation of linear damage drop off over distance. There are some great videos about this that offer more detail, highly recommend them,

Btw, you only feel the "reduction" in heavy armor via the lack of bile titans... Chargers, if anything, have had their spawn rates rocket through the roof. Ran a lvl 5 where we had at least 7 chargers active at once and had more spawning in as we dealt with them. My squad consistently ran into groups of three chargers and EVERY. SINGLE. PATROL. had at least 1 in it. This coupled with horde spawns being raised to "compensate" means we usually got hit by 2 patrols at a time from different directions. The stated reason for changing spawn rates was to allow players to bring LESS anti tank... yet they go and toss in a mob that just soaks anti-tank and spawns like a rabbit in spring... AH can't balance their way out of a paper bag.

Great points regarding flamethrowers and other incendiary weapons for terminids. I’ve tended to use those types of weapons a lot after watching you, but will note that a supply pack and grenade launcher is also extremely effective against the bugs (incl. their holes).

What sort of fire secondary weapon would you like to see? Pocket flamethrower? Flare gun? Cutting torch? Perhaps some sort of sparkler dealy that causes a bit of blindness?

It’s annoying because the arc is REALLY good against Bile Spewers. 3 shots and they’re toast, plus they usually walk in a line so you can kill like 4 with 3 shots. It would be nice if they increased the likelihood of the arc popping off leg armour. It would be a really god mechanic for it without being too OP. 17 shots to kill a behemoths just makes it unusable with everything else going on. In multiplayer Arc and Flamethrower pair up really nicely though. The stagger from the arc keeps the enemies back nicely and you get a good cross section of damage.

Both users should be at the frontline with their limited range. Arc thrower in the right hands dont zap the team anyways.

I don't want to bring with too many "meta" weapons if I play in a competent squad. Since the patch I was rocking the Blitzer to great effect against the bugs. If somebody has a flamethrower, I position myself next to them, walking in the same direction so that I can stun enemies which are getting fried. Positioning is critical though.

Also keep in mind that this really applies for solo play. In a full squad, things like this become irrelevant because you can have 1 person dedicated to tank busting while the rest deal with adds. This still gives relevance to things like the MG, Arc Thrower, and other add clear since only 1-2 ppl need to worry about AT weapons.

I tried doing a support load out similar to the one you're doing in the video and my team did well the first few matches then once people started dying to their own strategems they left but me and another person stayed and made bank in Samples so I wasn't upset.

They made the AT support weapons the best pick and people weren't having viable options outside of them. Then they decided to change things up so we have more viable options by making it so the flamethrower feels like a must have if you don't want to run away from chargers the entire game. 10/10 variety

They were never there. They only existed on missions where you need to kill a charger. I think 4-5 diff. And they had the same stats as a regular charger. They were just changed after the update and made stronger

There was usually one waiting at every retrieve essential personal mission (40 min civilian rescue), but I don't recall them being able to survive an Eat-17 or Quasar to the face before.

Last matches we had like 3 Bile Titans with aproximately (stopped counting) 4 Behemoth Chargers and 41235 Medium and Smaller Bugs running around. There is just no way to stop this kind of wave effectively. Guess Level 9 shall be that hard and I respect that since it is the HARDEST.

napalm strike/ cluster strike always carries in bugs. either impact grenades are also a great choice when getting rammed with ads. as for the tanks, well good luck honestly. maybe lead them away from the objective and die a hero lol.

Pls try the Scorcher on EVERY TERMINID if you have the patience and good aim. You will be surprised. Scorcher, Flamethrower, Supply Pack.

I’ve been enjoying running crossbow with flamethrower since the recent patch. My prior load out was breaker incendiary with flamethrower but I felt vulnerable versus spewers. I feel quite well rounded now even if the crossbow is a bit weaker choice without spewers

I'm even seeing a ton more hive guards. Making light armor pen weapons quite a bit less effective.

I just joined a team on terminid mission with 3 flamethrowers so I also equipped one. We successfully re-created Hellmire on Lesath p/s: also 2 of us brought napalm and 1 had incendiary mine

Flamethrowers have been my go-to weapon for the bugs since I started playing the game and got my hands on it. So I think that it is cool that it is brought back into the game. For Heavy armored bugs... I would take the Qasar cannon or the expendable anti tank rockets... so I would use both stratagems... with the stress one forgets the strategy, but when I dont forget it is a breeze to clean up the mess of the swarms of bugs. The Arc Throwers worked better for me with the bots as well as any energy related weapon for that matter.

I’ve played quite a few matches on level 9 with the update. Anti armor is needed now more then ever. There’s still quite a solid armored terminus presence. Also these new chargers (with the weird head and grey armor) take like 3 shots from armor pen weapons, like the rec rifle.

Id be totally fine with making it so you need to shoot a charger behemoth's leg with an AT weapon and kill it with your primary. It would give some really nice variation when mixed in with normal chargers. The big problem is that you need to move forward while shooting lmao. Its inconsistent

the leg shot damage suffers from "momentum loss" which has been explored in another youtube video which I unfortunately cannot find right now, but the conclusion was that if you move away from enemy there is a damage falloff that leaves 1hp on charger's leg.. to remedy this you need to walk towards the enemy when shooting to add "momentum" to your shots IF they are standing still... I never knew momentum actually is a thing in damage calculation

Yes for the RR. Doesn't change railgun though (I think maybe it's hitscan instead?). RG is actually good again since it can strip armor in 3 ~75-80% hits then finish with secondary. I personally find it to be a fun alternative to flamethrower since it has some utility against bile titans and can damage spewers/shriekers.

1:55 behemoth did spawn before this but rarely, and they mostly got mixed up with regular chargers during combat edit:i saw one as a guard on a evacuate mission, but not during breaches

Those are preset placements not natural spawns.

Before they never spawned in patrols or during breaches or in nests they only 1 ever spawned during evacuate missions and kill the charger missions, but never out side of them

Only time i ever see behemoths before the patch was during the evacuation missions. They were solely restricted to those specific mission types. In my 300+ hours of playing, not once have i seen one on patrols, until the last patch update ofcourse.

The leg armor health is not a "glitch", but a result of how the game calculates falloff damage. Every weapon looses 1 damage the moment it is fired, to start the falloff damage calculation. So instead of 650, they do 649 damage. Moving forward adds momentum, which actually ups the damage, crossing the breakpoint of 650 again. Not so much a glitch as it is a coding oversight. This will probably get fixed.

Great Video! Cool to see the specific interaction changes with the Behemoth Chargers now, definitely noticed an increased spawn rate at Helldive (9). I have been running the Flamethrower with the Breaker Incendiary for a while now, using the Stun Grenade to basically negate chargers and get out of sticky situations and the Grenade Pistol for Bug Holes. Medic Armour is great all round and especially for if you get set on fire, paired with the Shield Backpack to live longer, Napalm Airstrike for Horde Clear and Bug Breaches, and the 500KG Bomb for Bile Titans. (The 25% Buff to Fire Damage Upgrade was also HUGE!!)

I havent seen behemots in a while but i recall being able to oneshot them with EATs in the head by aiming under the faceplate straight into the mouth. For that you need to be prone. Not sure uf its still relevant gonna test that.

Don't forget that the way we used to kill chargers was with 2 railgun shots to the leg to expose it then finish with a primary. Nobody should be concerned about the difficulty of hitting their legs. Additionally, you can often damage their legs with a primary weapon even when it looks like the armor is still there.

The buff to the grenade launcher makes it OP against hordes. Pummeler stuns stalkers plus you can run and gun bc it’s one handed. Bring two elite killing strategems. Impact grenades above all others. Grenade pistol the best when you initially drop without support weapons and need the fire power. Supply backpack gives you basically unlimited sticks, grenades, and ammo.

I don't know if they will change the moving gives more damage on AA. The whole reason that works is cause there's drop off damage on everything and for some reason, that also goes off our own momentum on our character

supply pack. extra stims and you basically never run out of ammo. especially since acid got nerfed so you can now outrun hunters.

don't need shield anymore with the slow changes, supply pack all the way you'll run out of grenades way before stims so you can self damage with flamethrower and stim through it (no diving even with light armour no vitality booster) for infinite stamina, you'll finish blitz missions in a couple minutes with the new speed booster

well they went back a version for the patrols and they broke a lot of the game by doing that. there’s probably a good chance it went back to its previous version as well. I would keep it on the dl tho cause they’re probably looking for things to nerf atm.

I was Recoilless enjoyer since day one (before they buffed it to be able to one shot head shot chargers). I thought it was an interesting and fun to play around mechanic to have to blow off its leg armor and then shoot it with primary/secondary. The issue now is the increased spawn rates though.

As for the charger behemoths, The leg armor has 650 health and all weapons have damage fall off as soon as they leave the barrel so shooting their legs leaves it with 1 health but damage is also calculated by velocity so walking forward makes up for that 1 damage, it's not a glitch

If you move forward with a quasar while a behemoth charges you, you can sometimes one shot their head. It’s so inconsistent. There have been times where a behemoth took 3 head shots from the quasar to kill

Really hope they lean towards bringing the other weapons in line with the viability of fire and increase the spawnrates a bit for added difficulty. Mowing down hordes of enemies in a horde shooter is fun. Bringing pea-shooters to said hordemode is not.
