They most likely didn’t intend for it to be required since arrowhead (helldivers devs) didn’t do this Sony FORCED them to do it

they stated that a psn will require at first but just momentarily optional due do servers issues, once the servers are now working, they made the announcements to start linking a psn account, microsoft, rockstar games, ea even epic does that but nobody says nothing

@@123thebusines so what you are essentially telling me is Arrowhead is incompetent and has poor planning that they let this fly for 3 months... nobody has an issue with linking their accounts.. they have an issue on how Helldivers 2 devs enforce this... they let this slide for 3 months, the devs has got to known that some of the playerbase on Steam played this game (way beyond the refund point mind you) without needing to link their PSN account (or else why the devs let them skip this) only to get screwed by this.

I think that check mark is the way to check it. We don't have PSN in my country and so my Account Link Status is a red X mark.

try right clicking the file and choose properties. See if the Read Only box is ticked and if it is then just click on the box to untick it.

Everyone is implying that because no one has been banned just yet. The last day to link your Steam account to PSN is still on May 30th so the ban wave, if there is any, will be on June 4th as per their announcement. So technically you can still play the game without linking it until May 30th but after that it's an unknown.

i managed to link mine by following another obscure guide by changing the "en-ph" part of the link during linking to "en-sg" (the region of my PSN is Singapore) but essentially I am still breaking TOS, so if I get banned. I will refund.

I don't know. Like I said on the video PSN isn't available in my country so I don't have one nor can I link one. Maybe you can login on your PSN account in your web browser and see if you can unlink it from there.

I wouldn't know brother... PSN isn't available in my country as I have shown on the video and so I wouldn't be able to tell you if your account is already linked or not.

From day 1 they told you that you needed an account, they just were not enforcing it. Don't sit here and complain because you opted not to read the information provided to you on the steam page.

@@itsRiske11 No. they really didn't. look it up, there's legit evidence of them pulling a bait and switch with everyone, Sony's own FAQ changes from may 2nd to may 3rd, saying that no game requires you to use PSN, to now - 'some' games require you to use PSN. So, yeah, they waited 3 months to let the hammer drop. People forget Activision and a bunch of other companies did this same sorta thing to get around the micro transaction thing by releasing without a store or anything related to it, so the reviews would be thrown out in the beginning praising the game for it's honesty, then after the first month of reviews - they'd dump you with stores, pay to win mechanics, and third party software. it's just what these corporations do. Our pass time is video games, their pass time is fucking with gamers.

I ended up refunding Helldivers 2. Got no PSN and will never get PSN sooooo might as well get my money back.

It was just delisted in nearly 200 countries on steam, and steam is now issuing refunds regardless of hours played. If you think Sony or any other megacorp gives half a flying fuck about us cattle, you're delusional.

The CEO of arrow games himself said he has no idea what people in those countries are going to do. So you think the lead man who made the game himself is delusional.

yeah... no... you apparently haven't been keeping up with things? They won't. they physically can't in some cases. Phillipines, I don't know the reason they're not allowed to - it may be the same as Ukraines? Which is, you can only make a PSN account for Ukraine from a Playstation(5) console. which means you have to purchase a 500+ $ console in order to get access to PSN to link it to a game on your pc..... do you see where this shit gets bonkers? even some of the 'eligible' countries aren't actually eligible, like Russia, which currently is being embargoed by Sony. no sony products are allowed to be sold there, and it's quite possible they just won't even allow someone to sign up form there. who knows. You don't know for sure, I don't know for sure.... But one thing's for certain... Sony sure as hell doesn't know either. If you try to use a VPN or sign in saying you're from a different country than the one you live - then you are actually going against the Terms of Service sony has provided which is a bannable offense. Which means you've got a game on steam you can't play because it's bricked basically. its screwy. sure there will be some players who will risk it - but if they get caught, they'll get banned. its a messy situation.
