That was me, the cat at 1:23. I was doing a mission on Hellmire, often considered the most brutal terminid- controlled system. All 3 of my teammates left. I tried to carry on the mission, but we were playing on challenging and I hadn’t prepared to take on the scourge of Super Earth by myself. I fought to my bitter end on Hellmire, hoping I could contribute to ultimate liberation.

Being the last one alive is the best. That means there isn't any friendly fire risks!

On Saturday, April 13th, 2024, I was doing my part, holding back the automaton counter-attack on Merkent, with 3 other patriots. It was a Helldive. Our mission was to gather two hard drives containing critical information about the enemy and upload it to intelligence. The enemy was relentless. We never got a break, I was always looking for more ammo as I was running towards the objective. At one point, the whole team was backed against the wall on a border between heroism and treason, but we even managed to escape that and press on. Then, in a blink of an eye, I realized that everyone was gone, except the firestorm and the enemy. I was alone. I did not panic. Death was the least of my worries. So I stealthy retrieved the first hard drive. Fortunately, the upload station was only half a click away, and no enemy blocked my way. I retrieved the second hard drive with an equal amount of success. I started to think that I just might make it. In my eyes, the mission was a success, and my reward was the extraction. All I had to do is get there. I got to the rendezvous point and called it in, it was quiet. Then, an enemy patrol arrived. I did my best to avoid being seen, but the automatons are not as dumb as we think they are. I had to run and buy some time until my salvation arrived. Time stood still the whole time I was running around, avoiding enemy fire. Minutes lasted days. Suddenly, I got a call: my ship has left orbit. That's ok, i thought, I still have 3 minutes, and my rescue is still on the way. No matter how hard I tried, the enemy would not leave the pickup point. Then, the shuttle arrived. I had 20 seconds to get to it. I threw my last 3 stun grenades and made a break for it. It was within my reach, then, a barage of devastator rockets hit me. I shot up a stim, got up, and pressed on. 1 yard from salvation, another barrage, I use my last stim. This is it, its now or never, I dive towards the shuttle hatch and fly right past it, not knowing that there is another barrage of rockets coming up behind me, but this one is different. This one is delivering my discharge papers, my reward, my hero's funeral. As I gaze up at the sky with my last breath as the shuttle departs. The only thought of comfort, as always, is my name inscribed on the wall of rememberance. Godspeed helldivers, my part is done, and the mission has been a success.

having my team leave me on like a level 7 mission as a lvl 16 was one of the scariest experiences i've ever had. i made it out but it was so fucking tense

1:04 This is me: I can carry the entire squad on terminid missions, but the entire squad has to carry me on automaton missions. Any automaton mission after difficulty 7 is just me being tossed around by rockets like a wet noodle.

Then theres the teammate who activates extraction immediately after completing main objectives, with 18 reinforcements left, 30 min on the clock, 2 side objectives left, and 7 outposts to destroy

Lvl 9 bot helldive, joined randoms, it was so bad and dire that everybody but me ended up leaving, I stuck through to the end and ended up with a full squad of fresh randoms, and completed the mission. Never surrender!

Missing a guy who has kleptomaniac syndrome from other games and feels the need to randomly or immediately collect samples from fallen comrades and still doesn't know that collecting samples is collective. Respectively, the guy who quickly rushes back after death so that no one steals his loot is also missing here. Also caused by own ignorance regarding collective collection.

... my second mission I ever played in Helldivers 2, I played with my brother, he is lvl 56 and I was lvl 1... I joined him on his destroyer, so he was the one to decide the mission... he took me on a helldive... you can guess how that went
