Maybe I should consolidate this into a longer video, but I'll try and list the key points: 1) Bring balanced loadouts. If you can coordinate, make sure you have good coverage of both AT for the heavily armoured enemies, and trash clear for medium and below. 2) Stick together, at least in pairs. A battle buddy will watch your back and keep you alive, and you'll do the same for them. If you're splitting up, make sure each pair has both AT / Trash Clear roles covered. 3) Probably the most important one - communicate. Learn to do callouts automatically. Ping enemies, give compass directions (right / left means nothing if you're spinning around) and rough distance ("close/far"). Communicate whenever you're throwing a strike or explosives down, don't assume your teammate has seen the red laser in the thick of a fight. Avoids FF and also wasted strats. Clearly communicate whether you're engaging a group or moving past them ("they're aggroed / unaggroed"). 4) Try and divide up targets between your teammates, whether that's by zone ("you got left, I got right") or by type ("I'm on heavies, you keep the trash off us"). Think about who is better kitted out for what targets, then prioritise and call out what targets you're focussing on so everyone knows what they're doing. It's all too easy for everyone to focus on the big boys and then everyone gets swarmed by the little guys. 5) Have someone in your pair / squad taking point. It doesn't have to be one person, it can be fluid, but the important thing is that someone is assessing when you need to leave the area, and communicating clearly what compass direction you're heading in. If no one makes the call, you'll be stuck fighting endless spawns that you don't even need to engage. 6) Cover each other. If you've had to retreat and you've outpaced everything else, turn around and cover the teammates who have enemies right on them. They're doing you a favour by taking all the aggro, so return the favour. If you're the one who needs help, call for it, let your teammates be your hero. 7) Coordinate elite kills. E.g. for bile titans, a lot of people use 500kg but they only work well if you reliably know where it's running. If you have the 500 and a teammate has the aggro, tell them to run straight at you so they can guide the titan towards your 500. Similarly, for tanks / cannon turrets, have one person take the aggro while the others get to the vents behind. If you need a stun nade to save your ass, call for it. 8) Coordinate your intial strikes on an enemy group, especially important in stealth play. When the enemy is unaggroed is when you can all get to good positions and take them all out in one go, no alerts. Give everyone a chance to get in position, call out your targets, then do a countdown. That's just off the top of my head :P. Good question! May give it more thought and put it all in a video.

@@newspiked7385 Holy moly this is excellent advice. Concise points with clear explanations. The point about sticking together might explain why I do better when playing with my low-level buddies. People who are higher level tend to run off on their own more. If you are up for it, this would 100% be worth it's own video. @@newspiked7385 if i may add one more thing me and my squad do (and you too apparently): one guy carries all the samples. if others find samples, drop them for him to pick up, for instance when reloading/resupplying. that way it's much easier to collect the whole container if the designated carrier dies.

@@junes_junesko And in addition to your suggestion, if you're running past the extraction point anyway, go ahead and drop your samples there, because you can't take them out any other way - better to have some samples at extract instead of dying in the middle of a nest and have them unrecoverable. Dropping items can be done while running, so it literally takes no time to do so.

Yeah. Part of the reason solo's so popular is that it lets you have more control over how the mission's going, if you know what you're doing. Finding a team of like-minded players can be trickier, once you find them though it's a blast. Thanks for the kind words! Yeah I like mixing up builds, even if I have favourites it's fun to explore other stuff.

Definitely, half the battle is finding a group of like-minded players to team up with. I've never really played quickplay but the odd times we've had randoms join our game, some of them have surprised us though and played well together. Dat IRL RNG!

​@@newspiked7385honestly quickplay isn't half bad if you, counterintuitively bring solo oriented gear. If your teammates are good, you'll have a good time regardless of whatever your solo loadout is. If they aren't, well atleast you're prepared.

Because the game kinda pushes it It not scaling things for solo and forcing things that require 2 people (ie: friendship bunkers), probably pushes some people who'd rather play solo into squading up

One of the problems with running the Breaker Incendiary. Because of the angle, there was no way I could turn to hose down the Hunters off of him without almost certainly killing Spiked.

@@originalSPECTER agree... definitely a tough situation. Fire in to those bugs and chances are good Spiked gets hit. Don't fire and Spiked continues to get hammered by them. Thankfully he managed to get that stim injected just in time and slipped out of the pile. Overall the full clear with zero deaths was a heck of an achievement. Democracy prevailed once more!

I've been meaning to set up a Discord so people who like this kinda playstyle can more easily find games together. Solo's great but ultimately coop is the core experience the devs were aiming for. Just need to get round to setting it up!

Truthfully the Servo Assist is mostly a crutch from me not being able to comfortably snipe things with orbitals but the fact that you can throw a 500kg beacon at a fabricator so hard it’ll rebound and travel half the distance back to you is worth it in its own right

It's just RNG. Some times you get big rolls, other times small ones. In the vid I uploaded today, we had a double titan spawn followed by a quadruple titan spawn. But we killed both groups very quickly :P. You can collect a lot of bile titans if the team as a whole doesn't have enough tools to take care of them, even on lower difficulties. It's been forever since I've played on suicide so I wouldn't know, but I imagine you can collect a few from patrols and one or two bug breaches. Also worth noting, I wonder how many players know that the patrol rate goes up 4x once they complete the primary objectives. If they're finishing the primaries first before tackling the rest of the map, their whole mission is going to be way harder, yeah.

Charger butts take bonus damage from explosives, so it can go down quickly from the nade launcher in like one mag, but for whatever reason it's not consistent.

Spear does well for Titans and Chargers, so as long as his primaries and strats can take care of everything else, it's fine. I have most of the other stuff covered with my nade launcher anyway so we paid up well. Would be cool to see his POV too but sadly don't think he records :/

Lol, definitely. Wasn't sure if I was wearing the armour with a chance to survive killing blows! I know Redeemer's good in semi-auto, it just feels wrong when I'm so used to its crazy firerate. I've recently been really liking the Orbital Precision too - can take down Detector Towers, and has a nice low cooldown that isn't tied to the Eagle rearms. Nice idea to pair it with the GL and stuns, more practical than the barrage I took for this run I think! Nah, for Super Samples I just keep an eye out for the rock, finding it on the map is beyond me. I'm not even sure what full stealth would look like tbh, even on my stealthiest videos I'll get bot drops at some point. I think the only real guaranteed alerts are those gunships, otherwise the rest are still stealthable tho. Thanks for the comment and questions :) and yeah we were pretty chuffed after this one!

Yeah, got it before this run. I've always preferred a tighter radius so it works well for me!

I've wanted to do a full laser build for a while, it's just tough in solo (at least for bugs) because you're pretty weak vs heavies, laser has only 3 uses, and I was avoiding sickle and quasar as I already did a build with that pair before, so it was scythe and lascannon. Might try it again vs bots, people keep singing the lascannon's praises for automatons but I'm struggling a little.

Yeah...honestly it can help or hinder. You can cover more ground that way, but if both groups end up moving slower because they're outgunned, it can end up being less useful. Just have to read the room.

All Helldivers are equally important. But some Helldivers are more equally important than others.

Well, playing almost every day since it came out + focusing on mission completion and not doing much solo/restarting. I seldom abandon a mission. I kept that habit even when the level cap was 50 so when the XP carried over it shot me up to above 120.

My native resolution isn't even 1440p, I'm a pleb :(

Just feels good to find the rock. Picking up the samples themselves is almost an afterthought :P

I tried it in the edit and it throws off the pacing of the intro. You can see all my stratagems anyway in my thumbnail, or when I bring up the menu to start deploying stratagems.

I mean...you can check out all my all clear 0 deaths solo runs for bots if you like. I'm also not tooting my own horn or anything here, I put these up because people enjoy watching them, and I'm always quick to point out where luck is involved or when a mission is surprisingly straightforward. If you don't enjoy them or find them trivial you don't have to watch them.
