They should make attacks with Freeze count as an extra hit (maybe even include some pure damage)- that would reinforce their use in Fire Knight.

I love my Yakarl. He's made into my arena team that I use to pick apart slow defences, my Dark Fae team, my FK 24 team (I copied Eharbad) and my main doom tower wave team. Brilliant champion.

Yakarl was my first legendary in general, void or regular. He carried me in nightmare campaign, and the potion keeps before the buff. After the buff he provided AoE control for all dungeons, doom tower, and arena( AoE can’t be resisted). He’s top tier to me, just under utilized.

He's legit. Just summoned him yesterday for cvc. I held off on buying him because I though, "there are better cc champions." But I'm free to play and I eventually asked myself, "but are there better cc champions on my account?" No. He's instantly cut my spider 24 time by more than half. I have a Teodor and dreng, but didn't have a 100% aoe cc champ, so I was stuck with UDK to tank the spiderlings. Went from an average of 45 down to 19. The lack of cc champs was also hampering me in arena. Now I can have a proper speed team. But I do want to say that you're sleeping on Yannica. It's again the notion that yes there are better nukers, but are there better nukers on my account? If you're a f2p, you have to consider that Yannica is the best nuker you're guaranteed to get. And on top of that, there are so few top tier spirit affinity nukers that even if you pull the better nukers, they're likely to be a different affinity so Yannica won't be completely replaced. But she does have her place outside of the arena. Most importantly normal and hard Hydra. You can get her early enough that she'll really help the Mithrala grind. You need so many mechanics to succeed in Hydra. At a glance, Yannica looks like a straight damage dealer, but she's so much more than that. Firstly, she brings sustain. Aoe leech is fantastic when all your champs will have warmaster. We've seen the same thing from Deliana, only Yannica's is better. Both start at a 50% chance(deliana's books to a 60%) but Yannica's is a double hit. Not only is that two chances to apply it, she can apply it and reap the benefits of it from the same attack. Which can be important for when decay cleanses and she needs to heal up. Secondly, she veils herself. If you don't have Shamael or Duchess, torment can be a problem. Yannica doesn't have to worry about being true feared. Thirdly, she can perform an Aoe attack every time she gets a turn. Her A2 is single target, but it grants an extra turn. This is important for freeing champions who are swallowed by mischief. After we get Mithrala, it's easy to take for granted the aoe hex, but before we get a hex champion, if Mischief eats someone, they're basically gone. Champions like Royal guard who only have 1 aoe on a 4 turn cooldown mean you might not get the damage out in time. So far she's unaffected by torment. She provides healing in the form of aoe leech, and she can "target"(in a sense) head of mischief without hex. That's tremendous value in Hydra for a free champion. Plus she'd be your damage dealer. But that's not all. Her kit would also allow you to do some very unique builds. She does self-buff, so she has the potential to mischief tank if you're desperate, though I'd hope you have a better option. Finally, my best kept secret(that I haven't even tested), she'd be a really good candidate for a provoke set. Provoke set seems unique from stun set in that I think the % chance is rolled per hit. I have Ukko in a provoke set and I noticed that when using his A2, sometimes the debuff appears after the first hit, sometimes the second, leading me to believe each hit has a chance to provoke. Even if I'm wrong, her extra turn mechanic means she'd have 2 chances to provoke, if not a third from her double hit. Now, if you were to build her in provoke set with 400+ resist(minimum for normal), what would she be bringing to the fight? She'd be your mischief tank. She'd cc Decay. Her damage would go down, but she'd still be doing aoe hits with warmaster. She's unaffected by torment. And she's healing the team. So much value/potential from a kit that looks simple on the surface. Finally, I want to throw in the fact that she's a really decent campaign farmer. You need to use team presets, but for me she's consistently 9 seconds, and my computer runs a little slow so she'd probably get it done in 8 for others. Lock out her A3 wave 1, she'll open with her A2. Her A1 becomes aoe and nukes the wave. A3 on wave 2, then A2 into A1 on wave 3. I only mention this because of how low the gear requirement is for this. A comparable campaign farmer for me is Skullcrown, but the multiplier on Skullcrown's A1 is so low that you'd need much higher attack to ensure the 1 shot. Alternatively, building Skullcrown with 200+ speed allows her to take a second turn if she needs to clean up, but that slows her down. Before that, my campaign farmer was Elhain, who could do it in 8 seconds, but it was dependent on cycle of violence, meaning she could take as long as 16 seconds. With Yannica, no matter what speed she's at, and regardless of what masteries she has, whether she's built for arena or hydra, it will always be 9 seconds. And as a f2p who still has hard doom tower, nightmare hydra, sand devil, iron twins and now hard dungeons to think about, I can't be wasting a 60 on fellhound. Yannica is a f2p MVP. Perhaps not better than Yacarl in the endgame, but better at moving a new account forward, in my opinion. Definitely worth a second look.

I pulled a Yakarl from a shard not too long after he was added. I always thought he was pretty good in a lot of places. That said, I've not used him outside of FW for a looong time, but I'm actually now bringing him back out of the vault and dusting him of for FK hard

Throw some relentless gear on him and call it a day. He’s incredible. Used him + Duchess for all of nightmare campaign

Nice. Much more useful than I've thought him to be. I only used him on my 30 seconds Spider team until the release of hard dungeons.

Should have tested the A2 damage with freeze on the enemies, I use him a lot and that A2 50% ignore defense hits really hard

For FK Hard, I've been telling my entire cluster I feel like the freeze mechanic is a red herring. Out of all the freeze champs though, Yakarl is the one I'd use simply because he's such a badass.

I've been screaming this champs praises since I got him early in my account. I have him prime geared, fully booked, Awakened.... and he is a beast. He is one of the workhorses of my roster. The fact that his A1 prioritizes unfrozen targets is just too fucking cool. Half the content I use him against never gets a turn, 🤣

I’ve pulled 2 Yakarls before his buff and I only have 4 void legendaries, so you could imagine my frustration. That being said do you think there’s any advantage to having multiple Yakarls considering his turn meter control and ability to do extra damage to freeze? Or should i just empower 1?

Just finished him in The Clan Shop Last Week, I am happy it paid off at the End an i can use him. He should do great for me in Dark Fae DT.

Nov 15 22 I started raid. My second ancient shard gave me legend goffred brassclad. This week. On Thursday. I had 5 ancient shard and 11 void shard . on the ancient shard I pulled legend python. And on the void shard 2x summons it was a HUGe YES I got legend georgid the breaker. Bonus to the legends I got Rhonda during January events. My epics are skeuramis and magnarr amazing pulling 2 legends with just a handful of shards a minute apart

My Fae team is deacon, stag knight, ronda, rotos, geo in that turn order. Not 100% foolproof but can auto pretty comfortably with said team.

Can be passive available for each champions in battle, can be your champion from your team also?

His passive reads "for each champion" implying both enemy and friendly. So the reduced damage is even more effective if Yakarl or any friendly are frozen (Ice Golem, Ice Spider, etc). But then does that exclude enemies like Spiderlings, since they aren't champions?

I went for Yannica first in the clan shop, because I have Elva and Rector Drath, so I thought a veil nuker might be useful. I hope I didn't choose poorly!

If they want freeze to be mega for fire knight or otherwise, they need to get rid of the damage reduction or add some other cool mechanic like frozen enemies have 15% speed reduction or something.

I started buying frags for all the champs in the clan shop as soon as I could. Now I have Mithrala and DT champs up to akoth. And I just fused cleopatix for CvC. Now my account is looking scary good. All I ever pulled for the 6 months or so was top tier supports so I started going after shop leggos

I just summoned him from my shards during the last summon event since I pulled nothing XD. I wasn't sure what to gear him with. Freeze gear, perception, or something else.

The reduced damage can actually be big against his big counter, dark elhain

For the Lord of Ice passive, it says each champion in battle, not each enemy, so wouldn’t those conditions apply if your team had frozen champs?

HH, does the frost armor mechanic work with the new hard dungeon? Then each time he hits your team might be getting frozen. What you think?

Isn’t freeze the same as stun? Maybe it should slow people as well? Maybe like a 15% slow or since frozen things can shatter people take extra damage when frozen.

Yeah 5 months to wait is forever and a century of waiting in games like this. I can understand completely if you’re f2p and have just a few leggos at your disposal, but there’s always something else that seems to catch my eye when it comes to the clan shop. I’m trying to get good killstroke gear, but it’s really hard to get 6 star gear for some reason which really pisses me off lol, so whenever that’s an option, I buy 10 of those and I get glyphs and what not. But I may actually just bite the bullet soon and start investing in Yakarl soon cuz I’ve played against him in the arena and he’s pretty OP now it seems.

I think you should try using a champion with multi hit A1 in a 3 set piece of frostbite. That's 30% chance of freeze each hit and with fearsome presence it's 35%

I guess the big question is do you forget yannica and just go for this guy if he's open?

I used him in my spider 25 speed team at lvl 50 unbooked. Just gave him speed and that’s it. Freeze the spiders and reset with Kymar.

I use him everywhere. I love him so much that he is my main character. He is my main nuker in Arena.

I see you have Jintoro rated low for Dark Fae, maybe reconsider? I think he's top tier. His A1 kills enemies and grants an extra turn, if you have a tanky champ he steals their TM (A2) and can possibly go again right away and kill with the A1. He just cycles through his abilities really fast. He's the MVP of my Dark Fae Hard team!!
