I felt the same way. He didn't seem like a bad person and even went to a psychiatrist to seek help. He tried on his own but mental illness is something still stigmatized in Korea so I don't think he was treated well. I hope they work out okay.

For everyone saying that the first wife is Anorexic you know she can just be naturally skinny right? Besides her husband basically says she mainly eats fruits and vegetables which wouldn't put a lot of weight on her anyways. Plus she lost 10kg probably from all the stress she got from her husband so that also adds to the super skinny look.

i have to quickly say im quite impressed with the man in the second concern, he definitely has severe symptoms of ocd that are negatively affecting his everyday life and the wellbeing of him and his loved ones but he's showing clear signs that he wants to change and despite it being incredibly uncomfortable he tried so hard to go with the mc's suggestions and requests. i have hope for him and his family!

I think the third man was quite smart when he didn't oblige with Yeongja's requests. Maybe it's not comfortable to sit like that whilst wearing jeans and he certainly did not want people to know where he went to the restroom (what if his co-workers would see or wait for him?). The MCs really think they can do everything even if it is embarrassing to others and although it is part of the show, it is good someone stood up to it.

#1 : If he wants fresh food for breakfast, dinner and supper, he can damn well cook for himself. I just don't understand why these women won't divorce these men. I understand the culture is still stiff and unforgiving to divorcees, but once a big group of women speak up for themselves and divorce, everybody will get used to it. do they have those dramas about being brave and truthful to oneself for nothing.
@whatblank4157
@whatblank4157 7 жыл бұрын
The culture is indeed one of the reason why they don't get divorce but another reason is their children. It's crystal clear that these women are just house wives and don't have proper careers. Many women in Korea are like that. Once they get divorce, it's hard for women to financially support themselves and of course, their children. This is why it's important to finish with school and get a proper job before you think about marriage. Hello counselor never fails to makes my blood boil but it also reminds me an important life lesson: Don't get married unless you are able to support your self both in mentally and financially.
@whatblank4157
@whatblank4157 7 жыл бұрын
wow seriously? well I respect your opinion but I must disagree with you. If you truly love someone, you are suppose to ASK them with RESPECT NOT MAKING DEMANDS. The guy here is clearly don't have any respect or appreciation for his wife at all. I don't see how this is clear to you that this couple are in love.
@mrreeow
@mrreeow 7 жыл бұрын
I agree with you. I understand that divorce is uncommon in Korea and it may not be the answer to every solution but some of these concerns has me yelling at the computer screen "JUST DIVORCE HIM." I really think a lot of these people don't properly communicate with their significant other before getting married. I've mentioned this before but I always think its important to move in with someone before marriage so you can get a feel of it before committing and I think that's something Koreans lack in doing. I understand its uncommon, but maybe if they started doing that there may be less of these boxed in miserable house wives.

After listening to the whole of the third concern and Taejoon's comment about the mono-tone, I wonder, is the husband ... maybe... I think he's a sociopath... without the criminal aspects (as far as we know, but the wife did say he gets mad). I don't mean that in the way where everyone thinks psychopath and sociopaths are interchangeable, but sociopath by the official definition of "a person with a personality disorder manifesting itself in extreme antisocial attitudes and behavior and a lack of conscience" and " [Sociopaths] make it plain that they’re not interested in anyone but themselves. They often blame others and have excuses for their behavior."

lol nah. Yeonja has spoken about this on other shows. They're close friends and coworkers, but that doesn't mean that the jokes don't hurt. Not only that, but the entire nation is laughing at her when the other hosts make jokes at her expense, plus the guests join in because they think it's OK to do. She's said that she doesn't like it either and frankly, I find it really cheap.

I find it s scripted then my comment goes to the writer and not her fellow hosts. It doesn't really matter where it comes from. It doesn't really matter how well she endures it. It's hard to watch people be like that to a lovely person who was well chosen for the show because of her heart and ability to communicate. It can't be a good feeling to be paid to say things another decides is funny at another's expense.

SUPER IMPORTANT NOTE: I don't know why this hasn't been done yet on this show, but...I've been watching for quite some time now and seeing some of the people who end up here...I really think KBS should hire a psychologist/psychiatrist as a fixed member on this show...they don't have to MC/carry the show, but having someone there as a consultant could be really (truly) helpful to some really troubled people...

Plus, to add, you have to have tact. You can't just - on national TV - say, "well it sounds like you have a pretty serious mental disorder" or "that's a pretty big problem, ever think of doing to a doctor?" It's not appropriate. Plus, like the person said above, you don't know what was edited out or said backstage. These MCs have been doing this show for a while now. They certainly have compassion for people. I'm sure - or I'd like to hope - that they offered some extra words of advice in private.

지혜송 actually the host and guest treated this case waaaay better than other older similar cases, they actually consult before with a specialist to give a little recomendation, the lady in yellow insisted him on going to a doctor and take medication, they know is someting he cant control and didnt insist much into changin him, but they are not profesionals so they cant go saying "oh yeah you have OCD you have to take this and that" is irresponsible, they cant diagnose anyone and saying stuff like that can lead to more ignorance regard the condition like I see so often on the west when someone is a little obsess over someting and they go like oh yeah you have a metal condition OCD....OCD is much more than just that

I am sick of these concerns about immature husbands. These Asian chicks just date and treat the relationship like it's some kind of k-drama subplot, test their bfs love by the gifts they buy for them or take silly couple photos but never really take the time to address any character issues thinking it will all change after marriage. I've seen it happen to friends and relatives. Asian culture is a little conservative, so relationships (especially marriage/dating) aren't always 'handled correctly' ...

this isnt just the case with "asian culture" (btw korea, japan china doesnt equal asia, and you shouldnt group a whole continent together... that doesnt makes any sense). if this show existed in north america, or anywhere, you'd find the same issue. the issue is that, generally, men are put on a pedestal in most societies, which is why you find these selfish entitled husbands so frequently. there are also concerns on this show where it's the gf who's selfish as well, so it isn't just men. but my point is, that isn't just the case in east asia. and if you actually think these women married their husbands after a few selfies and gifts then u need to get ur head out of ur ass.

That's why it's important for woman to get their education done and have proper careers so you don't solely rely on your husband incomes. It's truly sad that many women in Korea just become housewives after they get married and don't think about pursuing their careers further.(I am not saying that all women in Korea are like that) I heard that in Korea, Marriage is sort of considered as obligatory where you have to get married once you reach up to certain age whether you actually like that person or not. I guess that explains why so many Korean couples are ended up shitty marriage.

Life for a divorced woman in Korea is not fun. She may have a hard time finding employment. Her kids are more likely to be picked on at school and they may also have a hard time finding work. It's not just about having a degree.
@whatblank4157
@whatblank4157 7 жыл бұрын
true to that. But my point was that it's important to get a proper job and be financially stable BEFORE you get married. I do agree that divorced women don't treated equally as others in Korea. I guess Korea still has a long way to go...

The second man has “ocd”(I belie that’s what it’s called) and it is a medical condition that is very different to get rid of. You cannot just tell someone with ocd “stop washing your hands” as they can’t,it’s a automatic thing they do. Also this problem is not a valid problem you can fix on a reality show by simply saying “don’t wash your hands” Haters don’t come after me as I have a friend who also has this type of problem

A lady i saw on a show had severe ocd she would clean the whole house and made her kids shower after school when they came home. She wouldn't let her kids live at home with her and her husband til they reached the age of 7. She didn't want to deal with the mess and germs,so the kids lived with her mom. Nah, the only thing that makes him different from most of the people is him being clean about his hands. Also, wanting to wear clean clothing.

dldrlfjqj623 True, but germaphobes are typically the same. Some only care about their face/hands/feet etc. I think in his head its "his clothes are clean which means his body is clean and guarded" whereas his hands aren't and no one's really touching your face etc. You could tell from his body language that its a mental thing and not just him wanting to be clean.

Royal Neko I guess that is correct. Some can only care about few things to be clean and still be considered germaphobic. I guess it is the difference of "how germaphobic one can be" and being a complete germaphobe I wanted to point out.

She is way too skinny. She's not healthy and must be anorexic or something. O.o Anorexic or a underlining health issue like hyperthrodism or something. Know that can make you loose weight if not treated. She even said that her and her husband got into a fight and pulled one another's hair? Wow, there are some serious issues going on with them. Anorexic behavior and abuse. Sad that people just don't see the obvious issue here O.o

Vegetarians are not that skinny. There's a reason why everyone was so shocked when she came out. Seen plenty of vegetarians, and none looked like her. She looks malnourished.

Still think she's not at a healthy weight. Maybe she was normal before she lost the 10 pounds because of stress, but she doesn't look healthy now. It's not naturally skinny anymore for her here. Eugenia Cooney claims she's naturally skinny, but that girl is lying. This woman here may be thin normally, but as of this airing of the show, she looks malnourished. Can say whatever you want, but doesn't change the fact she looks malnourished and anorexic in this episode.

She may seem skinny to you(skinny is a pretty broad word) and to our western body type standards but she is perfectly healthy. Asians have different bone structures than others, including a fast metabolism due to common genetics. For a lot them, it is hard to gain weight and withhold fat tissues as they are constantly burning them(notice how the husband is surprisingly thin for his protein and unhealthy food intake) A lot of them could change their diet, lose weight, and look just as thin depending on the person(which is exactly what happened to this lady). Travel to korea, japan, china or thailand and you will see thousands of people who look just like her. She has a very nutritional diet which is why she remains the weight that she is. Calling her malnourished is an overstatement.

The wife isn't anorexic, though she is very thin. Anorexia nervosa is a mental illness. The wife acknowledges she is skinny due to the stress caused by her husband. She didn't lose weight because she has an intense fear of being/getting fat nor does she restrict her calories. She is not in denial over her low weight either. These are all criteria according to the DMV for anorexia nervosa. Please don't throw the term around without giving it some consideration. Saying she "looks anorexic" is demeaning to both her situation and to those with the eating disorder.

overall the husbands from 1st, 2nd, and 3rd concerns are all hilarious ohmygod i'm too speechless, the three of them would be a great match, a meat lover who hates vegetables, a neat freak lol, and another one who travels 20 mins just to use a toilet and do his fave squatting position or whatever it is lmaooo who wants to join the club?
