this is actually terrifying compared to what we got in the full game

The Neighbor running around the outside to break the window and get in is the coolest way to show how the AI functions. It's a shame they preferred the house over the AI.

If this was the hello neighbor we ended up with I would be much happier. Of course all the textures and everything too.

This is crude, low res, unpolished and it’s so much scarier. I wish the atmosphere of this demo was preserved the entire time but it may not be possible because most of it is just how unclear everything is. There are so many features and sounds and ambiance’s in this video that I wish we did get. Of course, it’s always easy to say we shoulda got this or that when it isn’t what we get just because we’re so curious. The first two alphas were great and close enough to this.

Why is a scripted concept animation 10x more terrifying then the actual full game

It's funny how the environment of the player's house is scarier than that of the neighbor's house

There isn't anything you can't interact with. The neighbor seems to have other things he plans to do, outside of what the protagonist sees. The neighbor seems to not expect that someone would break into his home. The protagonist isn't familiar with the neighbor's house, but the neighbor is. Both parties have opportunities to surprise each other. The game seems to unfold like a short film. This is a really engaging short film. Watching this has changed the way I see game development.

The fact the prototype is way more scary than the final game is odd. I feel like if the final game was something like this it would be way more fun to play.

the chase music at the end is iconic

It was colorless and completely a tester and yet I felt more tense than in the full game smh

I wish they released this, but a more fixed up version, with textures, and proper animations, basically just a more functional version of this one, because I love the look tbh

i love how they made a animation for walking up the stairs and actually moving objects to block doors, but they still didn’t add a moving animation for the neighbor

1:09 gotta love the stinger that plays here. It's used in the announcement trailer too and I think subtle noises like that would make the presence of the neighbor a lot more ominous.

It went from cartoony to realistic to cartoony.

there are so many sounds that were used in the final game like the woman talking in the background,the tv sounds, the chase music, the ambience, the door sounds and a lot of more hello neighbor alpha 1 sounds and music

The part where the AI closed the garage door on the player is actually really cool

The old builds of hello neighbor make me depressed because it looks so interesting fun and scary then what we actually ended up getting

estaria bueno que el juego haya quedado asi como este, con esas funciones tan buenas como la de que el personaje pueda mover los muebles para trancar las puertas, que el vecino te pueda tirar cosas y la animacion realista de que el vecino rompe la ventana para entrar lo cual eso en cualquier otro juego no pasa como que basicamente se queda bugueado tratando de pasar, simplemente si la casa fuera un poco mas grande con mas habitaciones y pisos estaria chido
