Wow, this is one of my most personal videos. 🙈 Filming this was like a walk down memory lane for me, and I truly hope you enjoy watching! (P.S. I forgot to show my LV Speedy BB 😅but that one was purchased in 2020). Do share - what was your first designer handbag experience like? And how do you feel about your handbag collection today? I’d love to know a bit about your journey as well! xx

I forgot to mention - check out Advene. They are based in New York. I have had my eye on the Age back for a few months now. The shape is so unique yet functional, not to mention reasonably priced for an all leather bag. The caramel one is beautiful! I can't find any reviews on it so I haven't been able to bite the bullet on it just yet.

Loved hearing this story, and I think it’s so important for people to realise that in most cases, designer handbag collections don’t grow overnight. It’s so easy to think from social media that everyone has everything, and to think ‘why am I not in that position’. Thank you for sharing 😊

I really enjoy your journey story. I’m at the same age with two kids, I can totally relate most of your situation and understand all those phases that women has to go through. I respect your idea of taking a pause and enjoy what you currently own, that’s awesome!! We (including me) sometimes get lost in the KZfaq world seeing all those unboxing videos do make us want more and your video is like a wake up call, we should appreciate and enjoy of what we currently have. ❤️

Such a great video. Hearing how each handbag had its own story and how they all represent a time in your life was so interesting. I am new to the KZfaq luxury handbag videos but I am already getting tired of watching endless videos of women opening multiple boxes of luxury goods. Your videos are so different and I really enjoy what you put out. Thanks for taking the time.

I bought my first luxury bag ( neverfull ) in 2018 after paying off all my student loans. Before that I couldnt even justify buying a €20 shirt. I bought another LV bag( Alma BB) months after my first purchase. My bags make me so happy and I know it's not for everyone. At the end of the day, it's your money that you're spending. My personal take on this is as long as you're not burning your savings and you're not taking out loans to make big purchases then it's never a bad thing to splurge out on a bag every now and then.

Thank you for sharing your story! I am 55 and I started my luxury journey in August 2019 when my youngest was a senior in college and we were almost done with tuition. It was my husbands idea, he wanted to get me a Louis Vuitton bag for our anniversary. Prior to that, I was completely happy with Coach, Michael Kors and Tory Burch bags. I researched and watched lots of you tube videos to find that ONE perfect luxury bag. Haha that one opened the door to my luxury handbag obsession. 2 1/2 years and 10 bags later, I feel like I have a nice collection, with an appropriate bag for every occasion and outfit. I’m trying to pause now too and enjoy and use what I have. I loved this video and the chance to get to know you better, it will add a lot of context to your future videos.

I’m just starting my 30s, married with no kids but want them in the future…we have a mortgage and the thought of juggling work, family, financial responsibilities and caring for aging parents overwhelms me. I've loved handbags since I was a little girl, non-designer and designer! However, once I became a mom and a SAHM to boot, I could care less about expensive handbags. To attest to how much I loved bags though, when I was in full-mom mode with babies, I always wanted the cutest diaper bags! I love hearing about your journey, not just about designer goods, but just about your life in general.💕 I love watching your videos because you are so relatable. Sometimes I watch videos about KZfaqrs who are moms that do unboxings of goods that threw down $50K at LV or Chanel and that is just NOT real life for most people (though they are still fun to watch).

This is the most ‘lifechanging’ luxury bags video for me. Thank you for telling your story and reminding me that it’s totally normal for life (and so does the money) to have ups and downs. And that we can buy 0 bag for a decade, then splurge a couple of Chanels in a year is definitely possible

I really love these videos, because I’m at the same point. It’s easy to get seduced by all the beautiful things out there, but I also want to enjoy everything I already have at this point. Which already is A LOT. The only brand I would highly suggest to you, because I do feel we have a similar style and vision towards luxury bags, is Delvaux. I’ve loved them forever since they are a Belgian brand and I am Belgian as well, but this truly is the best brand out there. They are better than Hermes and not a lot of people talk about this brand. But their craftsmanship and leather are the very best. Just a suggestion if you do feel like adding something new 😉 But your collection is already AMAZING 🤩

Quite an interesting journey! I admire people like you who slowly builds their collection based solely on their liking and reality. ❤️ Considering space and realizing what I've already gotten is enough, there is only one handbag on my wishlist for this year and it's amazing. 😂 X-mas personal gift is set. Also one idea that came to my mind recently is getting a new handbag only when travelling abroad. A tactic to increase the sentimental value and maybe not part ways with it so easily. We've been losing the hability to appreciate what we have....

Such an interesting handbag story. I watched every second of this video. I followed a similar pattern of getting 1 lv bag as a reward for graduating grad school and then going on a hiatus until I met another milestone and then in 2020-2021 out of nowhere got 9 Hermes bags. Now I’m happy with my luxury collection. Now I’m focusing on filling more of my collection with lesser known bags but interesting and unique designs with a focus on quality

Thank you for sharing such an amazing journey of yours. It is very inspiring! I highly suggest every young woman who is interested in luxury shopping watch this video before embarking on the journey. As your new subbie, I have been watching many of your previous videos this week. I really admire you for practising delayed gratification so well and you worked so hard for your career. You clearly have every right to enjoy your nice collection. Your hard work sets you apart from a lot of luxury KZfaqrs, half of whom may have probably married a rich husband who allows them to spend mindlessly on luxuries. You really rock the community as the role model! With such great quality of you plus your way of teaching your kids financial literacy (which you shared in your recent video), I believe your kids could not be more well-prepared for their future financially. I shared some similarity with you in my luxury journey. I bought my very first luxury handbag during college (15 years ago). that was a pink Burberry tote. I bought it with my part-time income. During first few years after I graduated, I didn’t buy any luxury. I was super frugal. I wanted to save for my first home. When I made to middle level in my professional field, I started to buy some middle-priced luxury, eg 2 Balenciaga city bag (loved them, most practical bag ever), 1 Burberry hobo, 1 Prada tote, LV Neo noe. Apart from these few bags, I was frugal in most other aspects. For almost 10 years, I have had my eye on Lady Dior (mini size). Also, I tried on Chanel classic flap 6-7 years ago. They were so so so gorgeous. I managed to refrain myself from indulging for two reasons. First, I really wanted to save for my first bucket of capital. Although my income allows me to splurge on high-end luxuries, the fact that I have to support my Asian parents puts huge pressure on my saving. Secondly, my husband is very frugal and frowns on indulging luxury shopping. So I waited until recent 2 years…. I bought my first Chanel bag 2 years ago after my husband and I put aside pretty much the whole college fund for our only kid. Last month, I finally bought a Lady Dior in small size because I found one in second hand market but in brand new condition, in grey colour which I love way more than black. It was almost 35% off the retail price. I wouldn’t have pulled the trigger if I need to pay the current retail at almost usd6k. The small size and the good deal are really worth the wait. I am so happy with my purchase. I have yet bought a Chanel classic flap because of the concern about its capacity and weight. And I already own a YSL small loulou whose style is similar to a classic flap but has larger capacity. Not to mention the hefty price of a chanel classic flap… I currently only own 4 luxury handbags, Chanel top handle seasonal flap, small Lady Dior, white vintage Chanel hobo (a bit similar to your first Chanel but smaller and in caviar) and YSL small Loulou. I only own one SLG currently. Thanks to you, I will continue to keep my luxury shopping rational. I am open to adding a Chanel mini 17 into my collection because my current collection is quite elegant and formal. I want to add something more causal and fun. But I would only do so if I could find a good deal in colour I likes. I know I can wait. I have not wanted a Hermes yet, probably because they are soooo expensive. My current priority is to grow my investment portfolio for financial freedom. I may want a Hermes in the future, probably when my asset reaches certain threshold (I don’t have a certain target number yet) and I feel comfortable buying one. As you always said in your financial empowerment videos, nothing, not one handbag, is more important than financial security. I can totally relate what it means and how it feels. It is very encouraging to hear that you got your dream job after taking a pause as a stay-home mom for a few years. I was a stay-home mom for a few years, too. Also best time in my life. The bond with the kid is totally worth million dollars. Maybe you can share about some HR tips for women and how you landed your dream job after taking a career break. It would be very beneficial to your fellow women subbies like me. Xoxo from HK

A very enjoyable video to watch 🤎 I resonate so much with everything you mentioned such as enjoying your collection and not just falling into overconsumption and working on admiring and appreciating beautifully aesthetic pieces from afar (without feeling the need to acquire). I, too, am looking to just enjoy my collection instead of continuing to just amass luxury goods and getting overwhelmed by the amount I have.

Lovely video. Thank you for sharing part of your story with us with handbags woven in each of these life stages. My first luxury items were Louboutins in 2014 - Black Patent So Kates and Nude Patent Irizas. Then 3 handbags around 2016 (Marc Jacobs Medium Incognito and a Chloe Hudson) - beautiful bags but don’t use the Marc Jacobs much because too big, and I carry fewer items now. Then 2019 is when the handbag interest really took off (read: out of control). Feel like I have too many. Need to purge things I don’t use! Shoes are still my first and primary love as I always have had gorgeous shoes before going luxury. But as with life stages, I may be temporarily shelving my high fashion items for my more practical side (Patagonia + Chacos my other long standing primary loves) these next few years 😊.

I really enjoyed learning about your journey! I was not exposed to luxury as a child so I had no idea what the kid brands were until my adulthood. I bought a coach bag in my 20s and felt I was a made woman! But it wasn’t until my youngest was in kinder that I bought my first real luxury bag for the exact reasons you mentioned!

Loved this video. So fun to watch how your style has evolved through the years. I also started with Gucci and still love the brand. I like their leather….and I love how the brand is so inclusive of everyone when every other luxury brand is trying so hard to be so “exclusive”. I’m still fairly new to the luxury world and slowly building my collection, but currently the major chunk of my collection is Louis Vuitton. I do have my Chanel WOC and plan to get another Chanel bag for my 40th birthday next year, but I don’t think I’ll be buying any more Chanel besides that. (Atleast, that’s what I think right now!) I do want a couple of YSL pieces and ONE perfect caramel/cognac bag but haven’t decided where to get that one from! It’s too bad that caramel/cognac is not so easy to come around! It’s no surprise that majority of my handbags are black - I am a sucker for black everything!

❤️❤️❤️Great story! Mine is a little similar accept I started my collection in college while living with my parents and taking advantage of having no rent to pay, lol. I worked two jobs and full time college. I blame my parents for introducing me to designer world at a very young age. Now, I’m doing it to my 3 kids. 😯

Hello from Australia 🇦🇺🌻, i was fortunate this morning to have your video appear in my recommendations.. Im a handbag lover and didn't hesitate to click play 💖. I thoroughly enjoyed the style and time span aspect of the presentation in relation our shared pashion. The stand out for me though was listening to an inspirational balanced obviously beautiful woman! Quite a number of foundational qualities and ideals were evident re. Your approach and attitude with each purchase.. Family values, work ethic, self worth and your very grounded approach to balance and self awareness. I said outloud right befor you mentioned balance toward the end "I could be Friends with this beautiful woman, shes so balanced." 💖 Im not in the financial position to purchase a designer bag, I aspire and am positive my life bance and goals will give me the opportunity to make that rewarding though in my future. I enjoy admiring the style and quality of designer brands and feel joy for their proud owners with no envy or jelousy 😀. I have never been one to judge my self worth or success on material possessions. Our true value as a human being is what we have if our material possessions were taken from us. Hypothetically 😀😘 You and I would be worth all of the high end designer handbags ever created and more! Thank you for sharing and of course, im a new subscriber. Love and blessing to you, your family and of course your many subscribers 💖🇦🇺🌻 xo

Love your pragmatic approach to luxury akin to your investment ideas. KZfaq 100% influences my compulsive buying. Therefore in 2020-21 during lockdowns, I took @Kat L’s advice in one of her videos that if we can’t control our urges then stop watching luxury videos. That helped soooo much. Only now have I really resumed watching but am definitely into your new journey in diversifying your videos towards different brands and investment tips. Good luck!

I love the beginning of your luxury way, from Gucci times, sooo interesting!:) it is really like behind the scenes because I thought you started from Chanel and it is all about Chanel :) but your way is so colorful, so many brands and thoughts! I started my way from 30 years old, it is just 2 years of my luxury journey:)

Loved hearing your journey and interesting to hear about your career break. Babies came along early for us so there was never money to splurge, plus we moved to several different countries so I had to be a stay home mom as no support to hand. My first designer bag only came along two years ago when I was in my late forties. I have 3 now but being much older makes you more selective. I’d love a couple of classic style Chanel bags but I’m not sure I can take the plunge on what is now over $12k in my country, when a nice Chanel bag can be had for half that price. It’s a lot of money hanging off one’s shoulder. Looking forward to you exploring different Houses, it will be refreshing to see.

I have absolutely loved this story time with you! I am new to your channel and also create videos, but more in the True Crime Community. I admire you taking the time you took to be with your babies as I have done the same thing. Sometimes the world can try to convince you that being a mother is not enough, but you didn’t waiver from your decision and I’m sure you’re grateful to have had that time with your babies❤️ I love your gorgeous collection of bags… I have a few Chanel’s… mainly vintage like the Diana, weekender, Flap bag… etc Anyway, wonderful Channel and I definitely subscribed and look forward to more. Oh and also I watched your financial advise- Excellent!!

hi ..I wanted a sicily from dolce Gabbana for many years, and in 2020 I bought a small blue one I like it a lot I use it for everything, then I bought a wallet and a Bulgari bracelet, and last year I bought a sneakers for myself and a scarf for my dad gucci ,and for my birthday I got a Bulgari bag I love their bags. and at the beginning of this year a Gucci card holder, but unfortunately the currency in Brazil is devalued so now brands are hard to buy, they are the value of a good car. thank you for sharing your story with the brands 😘

Great story! If you're considered a late bloomer, I'm a super late bloomer then haha. I did not get into or learn about high end designer until in my early 30s. And of course, these price hikes are not even going to give me much chance to build my collection. 🙈

I am about same age as you. I got my first luxury handbag in 2011 when I was in my early 30s. I use cheap 10 dollar bag in my 20s. Same as u. Career focus and buy alot properties to live in and investment. My journey of luxury handbag explode in recent years when I am more established finacially. I also pause from working between 2016 to 2017 for 2 years to reflect my self and who I am without income, of course trouble and drama in my relationship.

Thank you for sharing, H! Like many, I so relate on your metamorphosis, akin to parallel lives in different cities. 2020/21 were definitely my luxury 2.0 of purging old items and curating my entire closet. I’m very late to the luxury handbag party. I just started 2020. I had only been buying contemporary brands, mainly Coach, from my teen years until age 39. I now have a small collection of 3 SLGs and 4 Bags (5, if you count MCM). I also learned the hard way that 1) not every beautiful bag will work for me and 2) selling to Fashionphile is not the best choice financially (I’m talking about the 5-6 months that I had the Givenchy Antigona). For 2022, I need to slow down. I went from no luxury to having 10 items (including shoes and costume jewelry) in 15 months.

I think social media can skew people's perceptions of luxury, and make us feel that everyone has a Birkin at 20 and that's what you should strive for. I can remember buying my first Coach bag at that age and literally feeling sick as I handed over about £70 (over half my weeks wages 🙂) In reality most of us don't start our luxury purchasing until our 30s/40s, if we're lucky enough to have our finances in order.
