No, it just means they are trying to latch onto another successful movie. By describing it in base term to producers it helps them get money... I can't help thinking the rise in movie budgets for more elaborate explosions helped push 80's action films more than anything else.

Hey Nikki! Fun fact - that look of panic on Hans Gruber's face (Alan Rickman) when the watch comes loose and he starts to fall was a real look of fear! The director/stunt coordinator tricked Alan and released him sooner from the harness he was hanging from. Good thing they got it in one shot because you know he was pissed!

So many people think that it's the bonds falling when it's just blank paper. One of my favorite movies ever. I was 17 when this movie was originally released and I immediately loved it. I watch it every Christmas Eve because it is not Christmas until Hans Gruber falls off the Nakatomi building. So much great dialogue in this movie and amazing performances by Bruce Willis and the late, great Alan Rickman. Die Hard was actually Alan Rickman's very first movie; prior to Die Hard, all his acting experience had been on the stage. To this day, I cannot think of anyone else who could have played Hans as well as he did. Two other films in which he played an amazing villain were Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves and Quigley Down Under.

"Welcome to the party, pal!" It isn't Christmas in my house until Hans Gruber is THROWN off the top of Nakatomi Plaza. 😎 Merry Christmas! ✝️ 🙏 🎄 🎁 Fun Fact: In 2007, Bruce Willis donated John McClane's undershirt to the Smithsonian Museum. Making Lemonade Fact: The scene where McClane (Bruce Willis) falls down a shaft was a mistake by the stuntman, who was supposed to grab the first vent, as it originally was planned. He slipped and continued to fall, but the shot was used anyway; it was edited together with one where McClane grabs the next vent down as he falls. When Worlds Collide Fact: The scene in which Gruber (Alan Rickman) and McClane (Bruce Willis) meet for the first time was inserted into the script after Alan Rickman was found to be proficient at mimicking American accents. The filmmakers had been looking for a way to have the two characters meet prior to the climax and capitalized on Rickman's talent. Casting Notes Fact: Alan Rickman nearly passed up the role of Hans Gruber, which ended up being his first American film role. He had only arrived in Hollywood two days earlier and was appalled by the idea of his first role being the villain in an action film. To a degree, Rickman was right to be concerned considering his performance as Hans Gruber was so hailed that the actor had to struggle being typecast as a player of villains for much of his career. Location Location Fact: The fictional Nakatomi Plaza is the headquarters of 20th Century Studios, so the studio could use one of its own buildings and didn't have to hold back on stunts and action sequences. While Jeb Stuart was writing the screenplay, he did a tour of the building, and immediately incorporated some of the locations and objects he found there into his script as set pieces. The company charged itself rent for the use of the then-unfinished building. Some of the middle floors were occupied by legal and administrative departments, so only empty floors were used for filming. Still, the filming of scenes that involved gunfire had to be postponed until after hours because some of the employees from the active floors started to complain about the noise.

The building was the actual office building of 20th Century Fox, newly built and halfway finished at the time. The studio actually charged itself rent for the usage for filming. There were already offices in use, so shooting of gunfire and explosions was restricted to after hours, which is why the movie is mostly set at night.

My 2nd video-reaction from you (after "it's a Wonderful Life"). Nikki, you are incredible. Soooo entertaining. Your personality is amazing. Also, you have basically no make-up and your face is so beautiful. Your husband obviously adores you. His background laughter is a perfect complement. He is a lucky guy.

This is a Christmas movie and I am prepared to die on this hill. Also this was Alan Rickman's first film role and Bruce Willis's 3rd after Blind Date, he'd been known as a comedic actor due to Moonlighting.

Blind Date and Sunset were both directed by Blake Edwards ("The Pink Panther" films). Willis had bit parts as an extra in two Sidney Lumet films "Prince Of The City" and "The Verdict".

*_"The Long Kiss Goodnight"_* would be a suggestion for another action movie set during christmas time (but not necessarily as strongly christmas-themed).

When they filmed Rickman falling, they counted 3...2...1, and then released him on or just before 2. So his shocked expression is real.

The scene with John in the ventilation shaft, hanging from the machine gun strap was a failed stunt. The stuntman fell instead of catching the edge of the ventilation shaft. Through some clever editing, the happy accident was turned into a much more thrilling stunt.

Like the unique way Nikki is shot. Nikki is Beautiful! ( love that hair color). Nikki is So Much Fun. She is very quick witted. Husband laugh is good part of reaction too, feels like we all in the living room together.😁😎 Sense that husband is great guy.. Nikki is a Gem, thanks to both of you for sharing....😎😎

The 'controversy' is it's the only Christmas movie everyone watches, irregardless of month, and usually multiple times a year. Unlike other Christmas movies 😂

If you think Alan Rickman was creepy in this movie, you should see him as the Sheriff of Nottingham in Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves.

He was great in Quigly Down Under. Tom Selleck's quote that has stuck with me for years, " I said I did not like them, I did not say I did not know how to use them ! ".

Saw this when it first came out. Had low expectations because Bruce was known for the show Moonlighting and he wasn’t an action star. Still to this day, it’s considered the king of action movies. Nikki’s the king of movie reactions!

The hacker guy was Clarence Gilyard Jr. He passed away last year. He was a Professor at University of Nevada. Great guy. (Also in Top Gun, Walker Texas Ranger).

This was Allen Rickman (Hans Gruber) First featured film. The climax in the movie when he fell The look on his face was real because they dropped him early for the shot he wasn't expecting it.

This is the best reaction I have ever seen to this movie. Some of the things you said were so relatable such as the wishing the elegant gazelle guy lived longer. I love this movie so much that I must have watched at least 10 reaction videos to it already and nobody else has said that! I always wished he had lived longer too because he was one my favorites.

The rest of the world is going to fall in love with Nikki's reactions. Pure gold. Absolutely fantastic. Definitely going to rewatch this Christmas movie reaction next year. Keep going and growing the channel. "Someone kill him." 🤣 I'm going to call it a woodchuck from now on. 😂 Never thought about Bruce loosing his hair because of the Die Hard movies. 🤔 Be sure to record her going to Psychic School.

You are the best person that ever existed Nikki. You know why? Because YOU KNOW that this is a christmas movie. People keep ignoring that this movie has evil christmas music AND christmas sounds nonstop. People also say John doesn't do anything christmasy.... yes he does, he freakin goes to a CHRISTMAS PARTY. Then there are ALL the references to christmas. Just because this isn't a movie from the Hallmark channel, that doesn't mean its not a christmas movie. I'm team NIKKI!
