Ashley's one of the sexiest women to do horror or slasher films. She was a total babe back then and still is one today. It's a joy to watch her in anything, and it's a shame she didn't have a major career after this and the sequel.

Hellraiser was yet more proof that you don't need a mega budget and all the biggest names in the biz to make a great movie. They brought on many actors i previously hadn't heard of and i think they all did great! 👍

I honestly think she is the reincarnation of Golden Age hollywood actress Linda Darnell. If anyone cares to look her up please do so. The resemblance is uncanny and they both look even more alike in motion. Linda died young in 1965 and Ashley was born a year later in 1966.

Hellraiser is a true classic. Great movie, great story and realy good actors, not forgeting the great mind of Clive Barker. Barker created a new style of horror movies, mixing splatter with slasher and psychological horror. I like Hellraiser 1, 2, 3 e 4. The others are ridiculous, and neither look like Hellraiser movies. They destroyed the name Hellraiser after the fourth movie, but those four first movies were classics of all time. That's why we all love Hellraiser.

i met Ashley Laurence at a convention...and i was talking to her, and while i was, i was looking at her photos (from Hellraiser) behind her, and she seriously looks as good as she did back then. I was really into her lol. i got a g/f now...and the relationship is kinda shaky but i wish we could get it back on track because i love her.

Julia to me was mainly a woman that dressed in nice clothes, she was so pertaining to how her character takes an evil motive. Kirsty of course dresses more casual like an middle class working woman would. The book is great, I read it twice. In the book the name of Julia's husband is different and Kirsty is a family friend not a relative.

I'd like to see the cast of the original movie reunite for a sequel. They should do it before they're all to old. I would be so happy to see it. Seeing as there have been so many shitty Hellraiser movies since the second one, I don't think it could hurt anything.

I agree, it just didn't feel the same without him in it. It was still good but he was the piece that was missing.

I remember that Rpbinson was a main cast member on the soap opera, Ryan's Hope. I actually used to watch that show during the long, boring summer of '75 when we had nothing to do. I remember he took over the role of Ryan after the original actor left. I thought his acting was sub-par. He really shone, however, with the role of Garrick on Deep Space Nine.

One thing that still bugs me is why they didnt use frank's voice when he was in Larry's skin? It makes no sense, and Frank's voice was dubbed anyway. Its a good dub and hardly noticeable, but the voice on the film is not coming from the actor. Not sure why they dubbed, perhaps he wasn't great at doing an American accent.

Oh yeah, I think she tried to make herself look less unappealing when she did Hellraiser. I always thought her eyes were the most attractive feature about her.

Andrew, I bet you came back for Hellbound now, really bugged me when i found out he was asked and said no, and then watching a whole shit ton of interviews 15-20-30 years later acting like he was the man that made that first movie what it was. I heard the reason he did not do number two is cuz he was kinda ashamed of it at the time. its funny what 20 years dose to a movie. something you might think was shit at the time later becomes a classic, or has a huge cult following, look at show girls, I thought it was a shit movie, and now has a huge following 21 years later.
