As human beings, we exist as a being with a double identity. Intertwined, yet forever separate. We desire what we hate and we hate what we desire. We hold such yearnings in out hearts that we dare never reveal lest we are despised for them. We walk the narrow line between good and evil, right and wrong, moral and immoral.

Yes, unlike some other horror films, Hellraiser does not show sex simply for the sake of it. Kirsty and Steve were probably having a romantic relationship, but they were good and moral people. Frank and Julia, on the other hand, showed the true meaning of adultery.

I love how this track goes well with Frank and Julia's affair. Never have I seen a sex scene look so unpleasant in a film and that's good filmmaking. I never did think Frank loved Julia, he was always trying to find new pleasures and his lifelong quest became the death of him.

Sad and beautiful at the same time, Christopher Young's score complements the movie perfectly (BTW, if you liked the film, read the novella by Clive Barker, upon which it is based: 'The Hellbound Heart'; Barker wrote and adapted the screenplay himself. Then directed the movie. Quite the polymath)

Everything after hellraise 3 was SHIT. Respect the fans. Pinhead said something very important in the second movie " It is not hands who call us it is desire"..... Back in the 60's Star Trek failed ( millions of fans were borne). Star Trek changed Science fiction forever . And today MILLIONS of money is made. There is a Dwarven Puzzle Box in The Elder Scrolls V Skyrim, in the Dwemer Museum in Markarth, its part of one of the Thieves Guild Quests. This is a re-work of Coil's version of the same song. This sounds like some Danny Elfman Harry Potter shit by comparison.
@valentusdolor37424 жыл бұрын
Not that any HP score has been done by Elfman in the first place, but it's always easier babbling first before looking something up, right? Comparing an orchestral tune to the style of an industrial band and call it a re-work doesn't fit into this either...
@subtledemisefox4 жыл бұрын
@@valentusdolor3742 a song can conjure up images of magic and whimsy the same way a Danny Elfman *or* a Harry Potter soundtrack would. Didn't intend to imply that Danny Elfman did the HP soundtrack lol. Drunken youtube comments for ya. Didn't John Williams do the Harry Potter movies anyway? Anyway, yeah orchestral whimsy is an odd choice for an industrial horror movie like Hellraiser. Not saying it's a bad soundtrack by any means, and anyone would replace the composer if a producer was offering a lot of money to do it, so can't really blame Clive Barker for that either.
@subtledemisefox4 жыл бұрын
@@valentusdolor3742 and what would you call it if not a rework? What little music Coil did for the movie was before production began, and some of it was reworked into this soundtrack. If you listen carefully to both, you'll notice it. Bit again, it's not bad, just feel like Coil's would have been better had that not fallen through as fast as it did. But we also probably wouldn't have got Horse Rotorvator because they would have been busy with Hellraiser, so it's still a win in the end I giess.
