Ironically, also appears to be the least powerful of the bunch. Every one of them can kill him in-game just for making a wrong dialogue choice, but he still comes off as head himbo.

In the (extended) Bible chapters, Azazel was a young but extremely rebellious fallen angel who was banished to earth but had no association with Lucifer. Azazel quickly joined a large group of betraying angels formerly known as the Watchers, who became the group known as the Grigori, and while he was relatively weak compared to their leader, Samyaza, Azazel quickly rose to the position of head chieftain , overshadowing even their leader, with their brilliant mind and skills. Even before the flood, Azazel invented and improved human weapons, taught warfare and strategy, had woman trained as spies and invented cosmetics for them, and finally, invented witchcraft. Modern Azazel: (Robots, outsmarted Lucifer, brainwashed woman, and creates magical mutations) Its said that Azazel was partially responsible for God deciding the flood was necessary due to spreading chaos. God wiped the slate clean with the flood, and the surviving Grigori went into hiding. Of course in Helltaker, Azazel's curiosity started in modern day. There actually might be a sort of metaphysical reason how Azazel was able to overcome Lucifer... God put a vague but powerful curse on Azazel called "To Him, Ascribe all Sin" After the flood the curse became sort of meaningless, but without a flood, Lucifer's title of Satan (the adversary), carries less weight with Azazel around.

I think it's more because it's fading. in other panels both before and after it seems to recover just fine but I don't think a halo is supposed to fade in and out like that regardless of damage.

I think he (?) realized that doing so would foster a resentment and envy that guarantees Azazel's fall, which is exactly what he's trying to prevent. Azazel's fate, for better or worse, is in her own hands... and we eventually see where that leads.

Azazel being besties with Malina and playing games. The general showing up and Malina just terrified. Poor Azazel doesn’t want back to heaven and wants to stay with her friends and boyfriend and wants to keep doing research. I imagine Lucy being like: If you want her you have to get through me!(we all know she cares about every member of the Harem). The General noticing her starting to corrupt and saying: nope! She’s your problem now! Poor Azazel is so cute. But seriously Lucy probably regrets every second of saving Azazel.

I really don't like that Azazel fell and became a demon. Don't get me wrong, it's a mechanically sound story point. It was foreshadowed because she's named after a famous fallen angel and her taking over hell is both a funny twist and an opportunity for even more stories to be told. However, I just prefer "awkward-research-student-in-over-her-head" Azazel to "crazy-evil-scientist-who-rules-with-an-iron-fist" Azazel.

I have a mixed opinion. Of course I agree with you but we still see some of Azazel’s personality in Loremaster’s actions so that’s cool. Hopefully she’ll beget a redemption arc or something in a sequel or another dlc.

@@star.master_cranium yeah, it's a tricky situation, fir all we know she could be the same, since examtaker takes place way after the original plot(evidence is lucy's horns being white, which means she's alot older than in the original game) so we could still have Azazel be the same, only with the additional knowledge that she turns into the loremaster in the far future. Edit: i meant to say justice instead of lucy, the color of her horns changed from black to white, lucy allways had white horns.

I like to think Michael threw Azazel back because she realized taking Azazel back to Heaven/the fighting over Azazel was what was cracking Azazel's halo and therefore letting her stay on Earth was safer for Azazel in the long run. Michael threw Azzy at Lucy both to hide her intentions and also to get the last hit in.

If there's an actual Helltaker 2 in the future, I'd rather see a continuation of Taker living with his harem and never going into The Abyss with Beelzebub instead of the Examtaker future that follows that. In fact, I'd like to see them get Beelzebub out of The Abyss to make her apart of The Harem as well and, an introduction of Baphomet & Krampus from those comics as well.

i wish the helltaker game was real, not even because i like fighting games. just because it would be an amusing idea. odd how people didn't understand she is becoming a fallen angel so her halo is disappearing. people need to learn more.
