Anyone else thinking how the fuck did they think to change vay hek so drastically

Old warframe really shows how they wanted to make a much grittier game from the start by the audio design. It's certainly gotten sleaker, softer and cleaner over the many years

It's crazy to think just how far Warframe has come now, especially when compared to this.

The J3 Golem now is like an infested living base that is the size of a space ship.

*waits for nef anyo* BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRT! Lotus: They wont be bothering us anymore.

Even though they are place holders its almost as if it makes sense. Like these guys started off as these normal grineer then over time became what they are today. Like Hek or Regor.

This brings back so many memories. Old star chart, old placeholder bosses, mag being able to use crush to smash J3 Golem's legs so he couldn't move, and when abilities were mods not just built into a warframe... Damn, has it really been only three years?

Well, to DE`s credit, their reworks of the bosses made them much more interesting, at least on the visual level. Still waiting for sensible Phorid and Sergeant, though.

This was the good old days when they basically reused the old Dark Sector demo assets. You could tell they had something special going on. And then they turned Vay Hek into a fucking turkey. This game has only gotten better.

Interesting how some bosses remain unchanged, for the most part. Krill: harder to kill and in a different location but otherwise the same. Jackel: unchanged for a long time. Anyo: just renamed the sergeant. Phorid: still just a scaled-up charger but at least with the infested it makes more sense.

Five years later. And all of them got reworked into beasts Except for jackal because he's good as he is and Phorid wich is in a dire need for one since his body makes no sense at all

And... Kela is still just a bigger ballista

Watching this, really makes me wonder, I took a huuuge gamble on sticking with this game and getting founders. Also I miss the old grineer talks. Also THOSE PURPLE DROP ORBS.

I miss the old Lotus in-game transmissions. They felt more realistic, like you're on a super serious mission. Now I feel like someone is just talking in the background while I do the objective.

I really miss the old transmission voice filters. I wish we still had that 'radio' feel when Lotus talks to us.

All the people in the comments talking about how nostalgic this video is but they were all commented 2 years after the video. It has now been nearly 6 years than most of these comments :)

Obviously the change in visuals is pretty noticeable but the biggest sign of change was the evolution of the sound design, from dark gritty enemies to yelling obscenities in the midst of a firefight. It's really cool how the lotus has changed over time, from a picture that glows to a 3d model with much better voice acting from Rebecca. It's really neat to see how the vision for the game expanded into what it is today. Also somewhere in the game files the baton is still used just not on enemies.

I like how The Sergeant (Nef Anyo is now a character, but the boss is still the same with different name), Lech Kril and Phorid are the only ones that haven't changed. I remember the old Vay Hek, the 2nd stage Tyl Regor (not shown in this video), old Jackal of course, old Kela and old Ambulas. This video is from before I started Warframe since I came in at the end of 2013 on ps4 and they released the Nekros and Valkyr update after this because the Alad V and Lephantis boss fight are not here yet.

When warframe powers used to drop as mods and you needed to farm then to get the others. Ahh man... nostalgia

so this was warframe years ago, I just recently started playing, and I've gotta say, I love the old gun sounds better. especially the gorgon sound, it actually sounded like a 50 Cal or gatling gun.

Weird to think how bosses just looked like generic footsoldoers at one point. Lech Kril and Kela De Thaym are the only grineer bosses who still resemble their modern designs.

Wow, what a trip down memory lane, and it hasn't really been all that long. Though, I do miss the old Vor et al when they spoke in Grineer to us, as if we weren't even worth translating to. It gave a better setting, to me at least.

vay hek, tyl, vor, and sargrus ruk used to be . . EASY to kill ?! man you can really see how they expanded their character diversity it's so nice. Also rats on all those stalker marks xD

they basically made almost every boss from EZ to kill as much as the regular units to something that makes you want to ragequit (talking about the first time i fought vay hek, regor, sargas ruk and kela)

hmmmm, 10 years have passed already since the first time i have played warframe, with many other games, people have come and gone on the game, friends have gone off the game, others...well, they go off of life, the point is, a decade as passed and this video, brings back really good memories, when i was truly happy. i am 28 now, and life seems way darker today than 10 years ago.

Another nostalgia. Most of these bosses were pretty generic but a lot of them still needs some kind of reworks. New bosses could be added long ago and the few which not changed a lot could have been changed like Segeant, Phorid. Good to know I play the game that timeline too.

Ahhh I remember these. I remember the Gorgon and the Boltor being the most op weapons on game. I miss the old warframe but I do like some of the new things too.

Bosses back then where more like simple capture now. If you are a high enough MR, then bosses are still like capture missions, but with a bit more difficulty

Lotus sounds much better here. I'm not talking about sound quality, I'm talking about voice acting and she sounds more seriously engaged in mission and doesn't feel too lifeless at the same time.
