You are at a great age and I hope you are still doing well, I just watched this and decided to do the AA battery test , Well my pinky is only just longer which confirms my suspicion about my small hands , And no wonder Hendrix was so good with talons that long .. You are going to get me through this Morrison because it is disheartening at the moment.. Hi! I’ve just discovered your videos and it’s amazing! I’ve learned some much from you and I’m so glad I found your page. Thanks so much for doing these and I hope you’re doing well.

So good to see you! Another problem is wish smaller hands/fingers: when you use a capo and go further down, the neck of the guitar is wider, so it harder to play certain chords. And yeah. . . I need to get a capo like that. The one I have does get in the way. I also love playing guitar. I too was effected by the Beatles(black female born and raised on South side of Chicago). LOVED! me some Beatles. But I digress. I wanted to play a guitar, but my oldest brother got guitar lessons and a guitar curtesy of my aunt. She bought a piano and took lessons and my youngest brother and I ended up with piano lessons. I'll always treasure them and her for that, but still I wanted a guitar. My 4 brothers chipped in and bought me a guitar when I was 18, and 2 lesson book. I learned the C scale and that was it. But I could play some songs that had pictures of the string positions. I learned THE BOXER and AMERICAN PIE. The only other song I had learned since then was HORSE WITH NO NAME. Then about 3 years or so, I decided I really wanted to pick it up again and learn more. By accident I found a KZfaq series of lessons (I think it was called 10 songs in 20 days) by Keith Urban.. and he was really great at teaching you how to play simple songs. Last year I treated my 68 year old self to a new ORANGE WOOD sage guitar. And I can have a stack of songs I can play. There are fantastic KZfaq teachers out there. My favorite is ZEROtoHERO. I think that's his channel--- an Asian from Australia (at least that's what his accent sounds like). Fantastic young man. I still only know the one C scale. I do remember a a bunch of chords now, but my short hand/fingers do prevent me from playing certain songs. Plus I have arthritis in my fingers. Can't wait for your next video. Glad you are feeling better and hope you continue to.

Happy Christmas to you! I have been awfully discouraged this past year for several reasons. I needed an extra push to pick up my guitar again. It sits a few feet away from me, but has been hard for me to make the effort. Thank you for the encouragement.

Don't worry about all that editing stuff. You are doing just fine. I think anyone who is interested in playing guitar should do so and just keep trying like you mentioned. Great job!

I gave up my guitar due to having a very short hand and fingers that I gave myself CRT and the thumb joints of my fretting hand. I was doing bad things with my wrist and thumb to compensate for the fact that if I play the high strings I would mute the low strings due to lack of length. I was in so much pain 24x7 and lost mobility due to the pain. After two months away from the guitar I have 98% functionality back with only twinges in the joints now. I so wanted to play but all I received on the Internet were trolls to remind me I just didn't want it enough as I would find a way because other short fingered people, no hands, etc... did. Well, I am so very happy for them, but for me I almost lost the function of my left hand. I am now afraid to touch the guitar due to that. I suspect if I had a real face to face teacher they would help, or just tell me to pick another instrument depending on the instructor so I understand completely my friend.

Remember Django Reinhardt, touted by some authorities (like Tommy Emmanuel) to be the best guitarist in history, had his left hand badly mangled by fire and he managed to overcome that limitation in a brilliant way. Merry Christmas to you and your family and a great 2022, sir!!
