I have the 92X RDO Compact, i wanted the Centurion because it gave me a "3 finger" grip. I went back to the store to buy it and it was gone, so I got the Compact, i love it. It is my first hammer fired pistol. I use Olight brand on my CX4 STORM & Sig X-Ten, i currently have Baldr Mini on my 92x because I was using it for my nightstand pistol temporarily, until I got the X-Ten, i won't carry the 92x with a light, at least at first. I will be summiting my CPL (Michigan) next month so I will be carrying it this fall & winter. I will probably get a lighter pistol for next summer but that remains to be determined. That M9-A4 is sweet, I would take it just like it is! Each this own!

I agree. The Red Dot setup on the 92 is just terrible. The 92 needs a rediesign for optics.

I also own an M9A4 Centurion and I agree with your idea of the integrated comp, I just wonder how much it would affect the price point. When I bought mine it was my most expensive gun at the time. I also am not a fan of red dot set up. I put the Holosun 507C on it and I did not like how high it sat on the slide at all so I removed it. I do have another red dot with a smaller profile that has the same footprint, that I plan to try but like you said, it still will sit too high to co-witness. I shoot it well with the irons so if I don't like how this smaller optic sits I will just run mine without an optic. Good video, I also do reviews and I'm gonna give you a sub, keep at it.

Which is the M9A1 Langdon Tactical plus ALL THE MODIFICATIONS DONE AT THE BERETTA FACTORY INCLUDING THE RDO Red Dot Optic capable and It was submitted in FDE for the Military trails in 2019 . What’s that, a duty gun? The M&P metal guns and and the updated sig P229 and P226 are doing it just fine. Why can’t beretta? The buyers should not have to rely on LTT or an outside vendor to make it truly red dot ready or not have good tactical holsters for modern accessories when they have 50 other types of holsters on their site. Beretta is huge and have the means to make it happen easily. It was lazy engineering and not really getting a full grasp on the American market.

@@Duty2Domicile The guns your comparing to, aren't Beretta... But the sound like they are what you should have bought. ...also, you should know that the Langdon Tactical red dot cuts, aren't much better if any. The design of the gun is the issue. And that design predates MRDs by about 60 years. You're mad Beretta didn't have the forethought to make their slide red dot compatible half a century before there was a red dot. 🤣 That said, if you factor in the price difference, for the LT milling and modifications needed, and compare the two side by side, you'll see there very little difference. You're still not going to have a rear sight unless you just opt for absolutely ridiculously high sights. But... Then you'd probably complain about that also. But your holster argument is completely idiotic. No major gun maker produces holsters. Holster makers aren't producing tons of holsters for a gun that really just isnt that popular when compared to other gun sales. Those "50 other holsters" are for guns that by and far, outsell M9A4s. If you want a good holster, do what you expect Beretta to do, and have one made. I did. Cost me 145 bucks...which is nothing for a holster. Sell that gun, go by the one you want... Because all your issues are subjective... And make you sound like you're karening.

Ok Beretta community, I have seen the forums and as an owner of a great gun that cost a lot of 💵, I am on a crusade to get our voices heard to improve the design. I will do the legwork of creating videos and sharing with Beretta what you guys want to see them do in the future, but I need plenty of comments from y’all to help convince them. List your gripes and complaints with the 92X RDO and M9A4s and when I get enough comments, I will do what I can to get Beretta’s attention. Please also use the link in the description to tell Beretta directly if you have any of the same improvement suggestions that are in this video. I’m not paid or sponsored by anyone, I’m just doing what I can to help improve a product for all of us.

MY "wants" would include---No MIM parts (eventough, no one's ever reported problems with MIM parts....i''d rather buy a gun wiothout them....they are "cheaper parts"...if Dan Weson can do it, Stealth Arms....not sure why companies bother with MIm parts...couldn't be that much more expensive to include NON-MIM parts...especialy if it's with one of their more flagship models...)... Finishes---I have no p=bolem with the military CereKote type coloured finishes but I prefer blued guns where possible. I'd love for Beretta to offer a "blued" version of the M814...walnut grips..... Beretta should also include at leat one optic plate...for the most popular opitc the Trigicaon RMR....at least. or inclde 2...the other popular RDS are HOlosun's...CANIK includes 4 plates o their Elite Combat model that's Glock 19 size and it's a cheaper MSRP gun...

I don't think anything needs to be changed. You can overcome any of your perceived issues with practice and training. M9's aren't meant for red dots. You say they are mistakes, that is nothing but one persons opinion. Why did you buy this gun. Seems to me, you should have bought something else. Seems funny to me how people buy pistols just to change them (upgrade). Unless you are competition shooting, this gun is fantastic out of the box. Put thousands of rounds through a PX4 storm with a plastic guide rod. Again, no issues.

Thanks for the comment, but I do have an issue with manufacturers who say their product is red dot ready, but do not offer a way to co-witness which is important to a lot of people. Just because I like a gun and paid a lot of money for it, doesn’t mean I have to be 100 percent with everything. A company will not make improvements to their products unless it is voiced by their consumer base. Every improvement I suggested has also been voiced by others on other social media platforms. I don’t believe in not voicing an opinion when it could benefit the end consumer. With that said, I do believe that beretta did improve the M9 series with the addition of the M9A4 and I believe it is still a very good design.

Yes, but there is no reason for a gun manufacturer not to team up with a holster manufacturer that makes actual tactical holsters and sell their products on the same site. Be a one stop shop at the gun manufacturers site. There are a lot of holster options for the 92 on the beretta site (and I bet most are made by another company and puts beretta’s name on it), but none really geared towards tactical use. And the noob comment, well after years of experience and the training that I’ve been blessed to be sent to that most people can’t afford on their own dime, I can tell you my opinions are based off of 19 plus years carrying and using guns in a professional capacity. I did not form my opinions based off of video games where that term came from as I was busy putting food on the table and when I had spare time, I spent it on my hobby which is shooting. I simply don’t understand why a company this day and age wouldn’t offer more duty gear for their advertised duty weapons. WML and red dots are now common place for LE, SF units, and civilians, so why not offer something that fits the gun they are selling with these accessories on them? It would be a better business opportunity if they did. I know I’m picky about a lot of stuff on this gun or about the company, but it’s because I see a greater potential for it to reach more buyers if some small improvements were made. I love the 92 series, but it’s hard to justify the cost for one when you can get another duty gun that is comfortable, truly red dot ready, and has more aftermarket support for modern duty use. I can pick a verity of guns that comes at half the price, just as reliable, and can be outfitted with what is now considered a standard setup with WML and dots, Glock, walther, sig, CZ, the M&P just to name a few. So for the price of this gun and how it’s marketed, I expect the company to better equip it for its marketed purpose. I would like to see the 92s in larger use of LE again, but between the price and what you have to do with it to have a similar duty setup, not enough options at a better price are available from beretta IMO.

I wouldn’t mind the LTT, but it is rather expensive (not saying it’s overpriced for what it is). I do believe there are a few things that could have been done better at the factory. Just because someone points out obvious improvements, that is not a bad thing. That’s how things get better. For the money these things cost, it’s not a bad thing if some improvements are made so the owner doesn’t need to modify as much. Thank you for the feedback.

As a guy that carries an M9a1 on duty and a 92x Centurion RDO for edc, every complaint you have is ridiculous. As with any Red Dot pistol, Glock, Walther, M&P, Sig you go buy iron sights that cowitness with your dot. Having used a military model M9 in the Marines, current trigger is head and heels above the original. Learn to shoot it or mod it like any other pistol. It doesn’t need a comped slide, I wouldn’t by one if you paid me. It’s a flat shooter as is. Need a comp go buy one. Holsters are readily available. I have a custom kydex for the centurion and the a1. Any Safariland light bearing duty holster will work with the your gun. As for custom kydex, a holster for a railed compact works wonders for the centurion. The grip rubbing is about the only legitimate complaint I heard in 25 minutes of bitching. Good luck.
@Duty2Domicile
@Duty2Domicile Жыл бұрын
I will go point by point so I can acknowledge each of your arguments. I agree that most of the guns out there will need additional sights for co-witness sighting, but beretta does not make any that will do that with their current base plate. The trigger in the new pistols as I stated in the video are good and the only thing I pointed out was the better looking hammer which is most people would prefer, probably the reason LTT puts a similar looking hammer on theirs. I’m not saying the gun “needs” a comp to shoot well, but it would be a nice option and would do well in the market. I also think it would be an interesting look. I know I can go to a lot of holster makers and order a custom holster, but that usually means more time and money vs a company as big as beretta is teaming up with a good maker to make them at a cheaper cost and readily available. But if you don’t mind, which model of the safari land holster do you run with your duty gun and does it accommodate an optic? I and I’m sure others would like to know. I don’t believe pointing out improvements on a beloved platform is “bitching”, especially when it comes to spending money on something that shouldn’t be an issue like the co-witness of iron sights and a red dot. Basically in a nut shell, I’m trying to address issues that I and others have had with this gun, although some are small, and some are wants rather than needs, I would rather see these great guns in the hands of more gun owners and with some small improvements I think we as the consumer would all benefit. Thank you for viewing the video and your input.
@ThatNightShiftNinja
@ThatNightShiftNinja Жыл бұрын
@@Duty2Domicile LTT does make sights for that pistol as does Wilson Combat. I know because I’ve been on the hunt for straight 8 style sights for my centurion. PS, they don’t exist. I used a 6280 style holster for duty, I had DME holsters make one that I used until recently. I have videos up about both IIRC. DME will cut to accommodate optics, as far as I know Safariland doesn’t. I use a company called Legacy Holsters for concealment; I also have videos up on those. Bitching may have been a strong term, but most of the stuff you’re nitpicking is either solved in the aftermarket like most other platforms or not solved at all. Of course my opinion, like yours is worth exactly what we’re being paid for it.
@Duty2Domicile
@Duty2Domicile Жыл бұрын
You are right there are a lot of sight options, but that’s only if you’re running irons only. After looking at your videos, which were very informative BTW, I see you are an iron sight guy. I however after spending time with red dots have grown accustomed to the benefits of having one on my gun, more specifically the holosun 507C and now the new 507K with the ACSS reticle. It makes it easier for the failure drill head shots and one handed firing tables for me. The issue I have with berettas set up is there is not an option to co-witness suppressor height sights as a good backup in case the dot goes down. This is the only gun in recent times that has the ability to mount a dot, but not be able to have usable sights with it. Everything else in the video is more of a nickpicking as the rest of the gun functions great, but if I’m spending about 1K for a gun before lights, holsters, ect…, I would like to see some of the improvements I outlined. Plus, I know the market is going more in the modular direction and a lot of customers want something they can customize with ease, readily available, and affordable. That’s why Glock and sig are doing a better job at dominating the market right now. I and you both know the 92 is a great shooter out the box if you have the time and training with it, but it’s getting harder to justify a higher price for these guns when you have things like the PDP, Glock, M&P, Sig and many others now that are coming out with better triggers than they did in the past, options for red dots (which is the future if not now), and are more customizable at a lower cost. I’m giving Beretta some tough love because the market is changing and just being a reliable and accurate gun is not going to be enough to justify the sale price, especially if any upgrades or customization costs 2X as much to do on the 92s compared to any striker guns out now, and that’s when or if they have parts available. In your video, you related your duty weapon had to change (to a Glock I assume), for compatibility. Why is it that more of your coworkers have glocks? Because Glock either appealed better to those individual cops who personally bought them or to the department who bought and issued them to them. Either way, the 92 series is not appealing to people who did not grow up shooting them and is becoming antiquated (not irrelevant) to the majority of gun owners unless more upgrades are made for those who like to shoot red dots or customize their guns without taking away the classic things we love about the series. Between the points I made due to seeing how the market is going and lack of good marketing for the 92 compared to other companies, I have a logical concern the platform will be discounted or scaled back enough to where the price will go up and even less supported. I understand where you are coming from as a probably well trained shooter that does just fine with a stock 92 and iron sights. I have no doubt you can execute your duties and employ your 92 just fine the way you have them set up, but a lot of other people are moving to truly red dot ready systems that have options to change how their gun looks and functions. Thank you again for the information in the comments and in your videos.
