The reason why "Replay" was (and still) a huge hit is because older girls (noona in korean) back then, reacted the same way as you did.

SHINee was SM's experimental group. When they debuted they didn't even get any promos before hand like what usually happens with new groups, just a few days before their television debut there was a news story about this new group with the song called Replay from SM and then they had their debut on Inkigayo (very unheard of) a few days later and then they grew from there. They are known as the Idol of Idol's and a lot of groups, even their seniors in the industry, look up to them and love them. And despite them debuting in 2008 they were all 15-18 years old at the time and they often teased other idol groups about that as they were often younger than them but had more seniority in the industry lol.

And they weren't allowed to tell anyone about their debut, like their parents didn't even know about them debuting in SHINee until the actual inkigayo debut performance.

@@loveitftw they did know, i think she meant the publicity didnt get informed by their debut. Normally b4 debut other SM groups will have teasers for the whole group and for the member individual but not SHINee, they didnt have any teaser pictures. Few days b4 debut they only have news on the TV. Their parents actually were on Inkigayo that day, after finishing their performance, SHINee came to their parents to get encouragement. You can look for that video it was very emotional

SHINee fun facts : They were the first ones to start doing dance practice videos :) and at one point RingDingDong was banned bc students couldn't concentrate in exams bc of it or something haha (my memory is bad x) so fellow shawols help)

Definitely recommend Jonghyun's posthumous album Poet | Artist! The lyrical content is incredible and the title track Shinin' has an mv. Jonghyun looks really beautiful in the mv and I think that's how we should remember him most. Just a warning though that the very last song, Before Our Spring, is REALLY emotional. I cry nearly every time I listen to it, but it's really beautiful. We're really fortunate to be able to remember Jonghyun through his incredible music.

Yes! "Lucifer", "Sherlock" and "Married To The Music" are so iconic! But i would also add "View", "Tell Me What To Do", "Good Evening", "I Want You" and "Countless" just because they are really good (i know you probably tried to pick only 4 but that's impossible lol) I don't mind even if it's after months and its one song per video :) PS: "Everybody" is also iconic From TAEMIN i recommend "Flame of Love", "Goodbye" and "Think Of You", and from KEY "One of Those Nights", "Forever Yours" and "I Wanna Be"

Fun Fact!! ONEW - who had the long note in "Atlantis" - has the record for the longest held note in kpop at around 40 seconds AND he has performed opera in front of giant crowds before being self-taught. He's super sweet and talented. I highly suggest checking out "SHINee's Leader ending everyone's singing career for 10 whole minutes" by SHINeeing Stars. ONEW is one of my main biases with Key. For reference in last MV: -Red Hair - Minho - he's also a vocalist and actor. He was in the Marines and is competitive AF. -Fashion King you paused on to check fit - Key (Kibum) - he's sassy but so sweet

Basically their whole SHINee World Concert 4 2015 in Seoul. That whole thing has so many iconic performances in it from Stranger to Excuse Me Miss to Dynamite to Replay. Definitely watch it and any other concerts that you can.

Asking positions for SHINee is probably one of the hardest questions to answer. because they kinda do everything and they’re music and performance is feels more of an band than pop group. which means more focusing on harmonizing as one, rather than one member having their moments for a moment and switch to other member

I agree! Those are great live performances! Wrong order though.. It should be RDD+Lucifer (SWC5), Sherlock, Excuse Me Miss, then Dynamite from SWC4... Just based off how she reacted to them already, we can't have her pass out right off the bat! After Dynamite, she won't be coherent enough to react to the other three! Might need CPR and a defibrillator! 🤣🤣🤣

I will highly recommend that you watch SHINee live performances, they are on a whole other level, their live vocals and dancing are insane. If you ever react to them I recommend these songs Excuse me Danger SHerlock RDD and Lucifer together Like a fire You won’t regret it.

The guy at 8:39 who's voice you really liked is the groups leader, Onew, he only has one solo album but he's been in many musicals and has also preformed opera live during their concerts. Besides that he's also known for singing a 40 second long note live during one of their Japanese concerts.

Taemin is called the ACE of Kpop but I feel that the group have a lot of ACEs. All the 5 members are good in everything, they're singers, dancers, rappers, composers, producers and visuals. They're complete.

The one you mentioned right at the beginning in replay is or rather was 😔 Jonghyun, he was such a wonderful, talented singer. I don't know how much you looked into them, but Jonghyun as you can see isn't in the newer MVs,......because he left this earth in december 2017 after a long, ongoing mental health struggle. We all miss him, the members probably the most,....rip Jonghyun.....i hope you have finally found peace and happiness❤

I first found your channel when you had just started and discovered BTS and adored you. I fell off for a while but have been coming back recently with your discovery of EXO and honestly it's been an incredible joy to see you fall in love with new artists, it makes the fire I feel for them come alive again. SHINee is my favourite group and they mean so much to me. I always say that if you truly love music, you will love them. All of them are such strong artists as individuals and when they come together it's magic. At this point in their career they have a lot of say in what they do and how they do it, and they are staying strong still! It’s always fun watching people react to SHINee because they’re so experimental and their music can be so random sometimes, but we love it! We all feel the same about RDD, but you learn to love it too 😅 and I actually didn’t like don’t call me at first, but now I love it. It sounds like some sort of ritual chanting being performed around a fire or something. SHINee is never afraid to try something new!

Minho has leader vibes because he is amazing in sports esp soccer and basketball...the guy is competitive and he was also a paratrooper marines and he was the leader in their unit if memory serves me right. He also graduated top three in the marines. 🤗 the guy can do no wrong

You're gonna love NCT, another SM boy group. Three of the members' Ten, Taeyong (the guy in the pink hair you were crazy for), Mark and Lucas are a part of SuperM alongside Taemin, Kai, and Baekhyun. So NCT has an unlimited concept and the cool thing about it is the sub-units fans get. The set ones are WAYV, the Chinese subunit, NCT127, NCT Dream, the subunit for the young members and NCT U where any members across NCT can be pulled together and constantly be interchanged. I feel like sampling a song from each unit would be a great way to start. So from NCT127 Simon Says, WAYV Turn Back Time, NCT Dream Chewing Gum and NCT U Make a Wish. In addition, every few years SM brings (currently 23 members and growing) together to do a group project. Basically all members are reunited and perform together on one stage rather than their individual subunit. I would recommend their first performance as a whole group Black on Black or if you like their recent 2020 comeback Resonance, there only these two.

I watched your reactions to Taemin because I saw someone post about you on Shawol tweet and said they liked your reaction. I really enjoyed your reactions because honestly you remind me so much of one of my best friends who moved away so I dont see her much. But I can imagine her reacting the same way as you if she listened to Kpop. Just want to say thank you for reacting to both Taemin and SHINee, watching your reactions made me really happy! I actually dont watch too much reaction vids but I honestly enjoyed yours so much. I hope you do check out more of Taemin and the other SHINee members on your own time, I think you will really like the music. The interesting thing about SHINee is that they are a very experimental group. They treat each comeback as an opportunity to try a new style but with their unique interpretation. As a result, you’ll find MVs such as Ring Ding Dong or Lucifer which reflect a lot of the trends around that time particularly of western trends as SHINee are often the first to adopt trends from abroad (e.g. RDD was done in the era of heavy auto tune, View introduced House, etc.).

The OG Kpop group. Princes of Kpop. In my opinion they are the best vocal Kpop group, not only because of their impressive vocals, but because of their voices, all of them have a unique tone, and all their voices are extremely opposite from one another. So, I think they are the best balanced vocal group between the members and have the most unique sound. You can’t find this on any other group 👌🏼

Yes! I first listened to SHINee because of these connections. I like these new songs a lot and added them to my "BTS+" (which includes OST songs from Kdramas and other groups that I hear). You should look for the video of Taemin and Jimin dancing together for KBS Gayo Daejun in December 2016 - it's great.

Ah, back in 2010 I’ve watched Lucifer by Shinee and was absolutely obsessed! Taemin was my bias before I even knew what that is and even though he was a fetus back then. XD and that was my introduction to kpop, I’ve listened to it sporadically through the decade until BTS finally hit me like a truck of bricks in late 2019 and I eventually became a full-fledged kpop multistan. This is such a trip down a memory lane!

yeeeees, i've been waiting for this! you are gonna love this journey you've just started, for sure. if you're someone who's passionate about music then shinee is definitely the group to get into. they are so unpredictable when it comes to genre & style. they're not afraid to experiment, and have even been credited which started some of the most popular kpop music trends. also, they're known for some of the very best b-sides. they're albums are a treasure. i really think you'll love jonghyun's solo stuff especially. his vibes suits you, and he was an incredibly passionate writer, singer and composer. i'm sure you're planning to watch some of their other mv's at some point, but i would also recommend their live performances. tons of people will probably say the same thing, but it bears repeating, because thwir lives are just, jaw-dropping. it's so awesome to see new people being introduced to shinee. even 13 years into their career, they're still gaining fans 💎💖🌙

I would recommend saving their live stages for Excuse Me Miss and Dynamite. Those 2 videos result in reallllly great reactions and are really well loved by the reaction community. Love that you are enjoying SHINee! When you have the time (offline or online), I’d highly recommend listening to their albums. As I always like to say, SHINee MVs serve to grab your attention, but it’s their b-sides that make you stay. Thanks for the lovely reaction, as always!

SHINee debuted in 2008 when Taemin was 14 years old. Onew was 18, he is the he guy who is always smiling, he also is the leader with beautiful vocals that tansmist so much calm, but it's also so strong. KEY, the guy who speaks English really well is the rapper, dancer, visual, vocalist and fashonist. MINHO is guy with blond hair in "Atlantis" and with red hair in "don't call me" he is the visual and main rapper, he is so charismatic and caring, the best shawol ever. Jonghyun and Onew are the main vocalist, but actually they all are vocalist, dancer and visuals. You will understand what I'm talking about when you check more of them, especially their live performances. They best known as the "live performances kings" and "princes of kpop" I really really enjoyed your reactions, wait for more SHINee and each SHINee's member stuff as a soloist, except for Minho. Minho just has a MV which was out before he got into the military, it's called "I'm Home" 😊THANK YOUUUUUUU

@@juhducah5464 yes, I have that feeling too. around that time seems like Super Junior has a few songs similar to RDD like Sorry, Sorry 2009, Bonamana 2010 and Mr. Simple 2011, they were quite popular that time that’s why maybe SM gave RDD to SHINee, but because of the auto tune they couldn’t showcase the boys actual vocal prowess, although RDD was my first SHINee song but I would prefer watching the live performance to MV because of the auto tune. Nevertheless RDD is iconic.
