Thanks for running some mid tones. I'm still trying to figure out my tones and ID's. I love my CTX and I actually am enjoying the learning curve. GLHH

I have years of experience with it and I’m still learning things about it. I run 5 tones most of the time. I have the bottom set as low as I can get it. I know when I’m in iron. Left side I have it set up to 13. I skip the second tone and go to the third tone and move it to 39. That way 1240 and up will be in the high tones and I set the high tone as high as it can go which is 1200. I know when I hit a coin.

Yeah I know this is a bit of an old video but Ground Coin is mostly for mineralized soil. And yes it keeps it more stable. But You were hitting the hot rocks, so you might use it more in that area.

@@DigDougmetaldetecting Thanks back. I have had a CTX since 15 I think. I've kept it in good shape and still works great. Best find? 1856 seated quarter in VF condition. And many others. Oh and I got Andy's book which helps.

Great video! That frozen ground can be a pain. Just received my ctx 3030 last week. I’m in the infant stages. Quite a perplexing device. Civil war relic addict in western Maryland. Been hunting Maryland campaign sites for 7 years now with an ATPRO. Had a lot of luck but I’m trying to score things my other machine may have missed. Any recommendations are much appreciated if you have any!

Hey bro can you help me i really need help, I'm a beginner and I already understand a lot of settings regarding the CTX3030, but one thing bothers me is that when I increase the sensitivity to 20-22, my detector starts giving signals on stones, and on large stones, and when I set the sensitivity to +3 it stops, now I would I wish my sensitivity was 20-22 because of the depth because I'm only looking for gold that my great grandfather buried, now I don't know what to do, give me some advice by the way, I tried that yesterday (I mean increasing the sensitivity) and the ground was wet maybe because of that or because of the large number of minerals in the country, how can I solve it and how can I know if the area is heavily mineralized or not? please help me and tell me your opinion what should i do to not lose the depth because i need it a lot and by the way i use ferris coin mode is that the best? or should i change and turn off the ground balance maybe that will reduce false signals

Bro i need a help, im begginer but i understand pretty much about ctx3030, but today for the first time i put my sensitivity up to 20-22 manual so i can get deep but my ctx starts to give me signals on rocks can you explain me why? When i put it back on auto +3 its normal, can you help me pls idk what is the problem, btw i use ferris coin

From my understanding Ferris coin should be used in highly mineralized ground. Ground coin hits your target better unless there is a lot of iron. For sensitivity auto plus 3 is all you need unless your on a beach. When the ground is wet and you crank up the sensitivity. It creates a halo effect and you’ll get a lot of fall signals, including hot rocks.

@@DigDougmetaldetecting but how would i know its higly or low mineralized ground.

@@nekonesto239 if you have a lot of iron in the ground use Ferris coin. You will hear a lot of low tone grunts or a break in the background sound when your discrimination is on. The break will be silence. If there isn’t a lot of iron use ground coin. Most of the time you’ll want Ferris coin.
