I was homeless 4 years, violence in my apt building, managers all on meth, so while waiting to recover from surgeries, in 2016, cooking on my Jeep, a lady pulled up in a old Toyota with a nice old guy in the back. She got out and came over to me at my grill, with an old pickle jar full of change, mostly quarters. She said she'd seen me out there for weeks each time she drove her sick husband to see the lake. We both cried. I could tell she really wanted to help me, and it meant so much to me, that I mattered to A Complete Stranger. I had 2 more surgeries and recovered on top of a picnic table at another park during the great fires. A guy walked out from his 700k house, masks and jugs of water to me every few days til I recovered my strength. Again, we chatted and he really meant it that He and His Family was worried about Me. These acts of kindness gave me heart to continue to recover by finding pt job so with my ss retirement, I could afford a REAL apartment. Despite what you hear, many many homeless due to similar circumstances, no resources, elder, and definitely never on drugs or alcohol. It's easy to blast disgusting stories on Fox, KIRO 7, or the banter in the Realtor world. This is what Jesus would do: reach out, ask the story, hear the truth, help with real resources. Vote and support social housing built. Build true rehab centers lasting TWO YEARS, includes all resources. Love one another. PLEASE VOTE FOR ALL OF US. 🙏🦀

I'm in Kentucky and I do help the homeless 😊 You could come to my town and you won't see one person living on the street bc a preacher bought a couple houses for homeless to stay in where they have all they need. If they are full they actually come to my house where they have all they need. Here we will not sit back and see someone going hungry or sleeping on the street. Believe me I wish I could help every homeless or hungry person in the world!! It breaks my heart knowing there's ppl that go hungry and sleep on the streets. I am only one person though and do everything I can for them here where I live. Maybe you should be a bit kinder, I only wondered why the girl didn't give the lady something to eat if she thought she was hungry thats all. Do you help the homeless/hungry? If not, maybe try it sometimes. It does the heart good ❤

Saw two different videos of people helping homeless. One guy offered a job to the homeless guy, this one offered food and some money. In my personal opinion i think giving a job to that homeless guy will do lot more good for him in the long run.

Wow! I'm about to cry!! Haha! God nudged that kind lady in directing you to the right place :) this guy really needed that pick me up! Not always the $, but OF COURSE it helps... that man was just happy for the cakes and the pop!! Humble guy, telling his story before knowing about the cash.. just being thankful and down to earth! Super kind to bless him up even more! I think he was in shock from the 4 cakes and the pop without having to ask or beg, but just being offered a kind gesture feels so good! These videos just melt my heart! Keep up the good work Travis! You know God is smiling! Jesus loves you! Be well

He already looked pretty defeated prior to your interaction with him- incredible how such a simple gesture can change someones day/life from that moment on. He even did a signature Pagmamano. I’m half filipino, half japanese and my mom’s side of the family would always have us do that gesture to say thanks. I loved that- I could be reaching as well but that was just my interpretation. (For those who are unaware, I am referring to his action of placing his forehead to Travis’ hand. It is a long standing tradition to show thanks) I love you Travis!! Keep doing what you do! A lot of the time most of the people you see have drug addiction issues. Drugs ruin people's lives and keeps people from ever reaching their full potential. Hopefully this small gesture of kindness was enough to help both of these kind souls.
