I really felt your pain, trying to get through to the guy that the pills are killing him. I don't know how many similar conversations I had with our clients. Keep trying hun, if you save one person, it will be worth it xx

Michael... You are the best! Sadly in the case of Robert, it was obvious from the start that he has obviously given up complete hope on most anything & everything. I would imagine within hours after you tried to help him, everything you gave him was either stolen or sold for bad drugs. As you said, he will more than likely die on the streets, but at least you tried to help him & bless your heart for that my brother.

Michael, as always, I applaud your generosity and patience. I have done volunteer work for Domestic Violence organizations and have experienced similar scenarios like this one. There are times I have to excuse myself and walk away for a couple of minutes. Doing that keeps me from saying something I will regret. My best friend has a buddy who's mother has been homeless for many years. She has tried to get her hooked up with organizations and shelters yet, she refuses the help. You're a great person , Im a recovering alcoholic and am homeless still but i would do anything for someone to treat me like a human just once , that's wonderful what you do for people ,anything truly helps , even just talking ..and offering to bring him to treatment is all you can really do in his case , can only pray for him .

I admire what you do for these people. I dont understand how you are able to do it though, just watching i feel this soul sucking feeling of despair about how none of it makes any difference, and that you are litterally just throwing supplies down a chasm. I am not sure i could continue to do it. So i am thankful for people like you with neverending resolve, that are able to wake up and go out and keep on giving.

I've heard people say don't give to the pan handlers it only enables them, those people have obviously never been homeless...It's a deep hole that is hard to climb out of, a little compassion can go a long way.
