You want to help with out hurting? I will take the words from Malachi . "You want the full tithe? Stop cheating workers !" Malachi 3:5- 10. When you rob the poor you rob God!

I know this was a year ago. Who are you indicting? How is your giving? The makers of the video are not robbing the poor. You sound like you were on a tangent.

When you have Theological Drift, you have Mission Drift.... Mission: “Do onto others as you would have them do onto you.” (Bible) Drift: “Do not do things for people that they can do for themselves.” (When Helping Hurts)

Do you see the two statements as being in conflict?

Those statements aren't necessarily in conflict because, as the authors point out, it can dehumanize people to do things for them that they could do for themselves. Everyone needs a sense of agency in their life. That being said, I think the authors of When Helping Hurts understate how many people in the world, including the US, need relief before they can get to rehabilitation or development. Development should always be the end goal, but relief isn't as bad as they state it to be.

is it possible to allow the use of subtitles for this video ?

I agree though that subtitles would be helpful. The other ones in the series have them.

Work brings a sense of dignity when its for a livable wage. Most jobs now days are not paying a livable wage so workers feel what's the point. They should have wrote a book about the sins of wealthy and not one about the morality of poor.

You have missed the point completely about what these people are doing. Before you criticize maybe study a little. I know this is 2 years too late but I had to say something about your remarks.

These are just awful. Don't bother leaving the progressive comments, I've heard it all before. At the end of the day, the most important part of life is your relationship with Christ.

Basically this guy is saying if we just condition poor people to think a certain way and the money you have is all your going to get so steward it well. Than Corporations can do what they want. Why don't these guys take this step further. Why don't they point out why the wealthy does what it does? Why does the investor class support sweatshops in other countries.? I would correct him on one thing most poor people would run circles around him in Work. Because what this gentleman calls work isn't really work. I did construction for 10 years back breaking work this guy has never had to do that kind of work that I did.

the poor don't exist cause there are wealthy people. It's not like all the money to be had is owned by the wealthy. As if there is a limited amount of money. There are all kinds of work. labor work is one kind. Labor work as yourself as a construction worker is one kind of work. usually labor work doesn't pay as much as a specialized field. Pay rate is not based on how hard one works. but on demand for the product or service. other wise I would be filthy rich from my hard labor. So I do hear you, but I believe you got your thinking wrong .
