In this last lesson in our critical care labs series, we take a look at our collection of hematology studies that are included in the complete blood count or CBC. This is another very common test in the ICU for our critically ill patients and gives us a lot of useful information to try and help diagnose and treat our patients. Understand their purpose, normal and abnormal values, and what would lead to high or low levels of specific tests is imperative in the ICU.
