This was very interesting and informative. I didn't know that this existed! Big thanks to the families and staff for making the video/participating in it so that we could learn more about this condition!

I think it’s essentially like their whole reality on the affected side is absent from consciousness, it’s not just vision it’s the whole concept of something existing on that side it would seem at least

Watching these people draw is extremely intriguing. It's like watching a unique artists style and I wouldn't be surprised if there's an artist somewhere through history who had this condition and didn't know about it. The drawings hes making here have a picasso-esque look to them.

I’m aware that i neglect my left side. Because i cannot move my left side of my body, I’m in wheelchair. 2 years ago i had an accident with my power chair. Because i focused looking to my left to not miss something important, i forgot my right side which is perfectly normal. Unfortunately while i was highly focused on my left, a stupid pole from a street sign appeared ftom right.my stop was not fast enough so i broke my wheelchair amd also my right foot. That was very stupid..

@hazazihazazi42044 жыл бұрын
For the left parietal lobe to cause hemispatial neglect most probably he was left handed and his dominant hemisphere was Right
@RKNBass4 жыл бұрын
@@hazazihazazi4204 right hemispheric dominance is not mandatory. There is a vast literature about right hemispatial neglect caused by left hemispheric stroke.

I'm colour blind. People keep telling me there is a number 8 in this bunch of dots but clearly there is just a 3. Also they make a lot noise about some trees turning in Autumn long before the leaves fall. Just looks like a tree to me. Obviously this is not anywhere remotely as incapacitating as a hemiparesis but it is interesting to have an analogue of what it must feel to not have that imagination-space conception of what others are describing or inciting is present.

this is has nothing to do with the eyes or ears, it is not only about reception but also processing in the brain. try to think of it more like the patient doesnt even know the left part of the table or dinner plate exists, and he also doesn't think about it.
