I am very proud to be able to speak Welsh.

The proudest moment of my life was my grandson representing Wales at under 17 football and seeing him line up with the other lads to sing our Anthem.

I do not care what anyone says this is by far the best anthem in the entire world. I thinks it’s a mix of the mellifluous Welsh language, the melodic tune where it starts off slow but hits the high peaks at GWLAD GWLAD and at the end, the incredible passion with which it is sung by a massively proud nation, the world renowned singing of the Welsh people and if you look into it the translation in it which talks about a beautiful land and how much it is loved by its inhabitants. Always been a football fan. Coming from Wales, for many, many years we supported our country in virtually empty stadiums. Players didn't look as if they were interested. Within a few games of every qualifying campaign we would be bottom with no hope of making it to either of the two major tournaments. Things have changed beyond what anyone could imagine the last 6-8 years...and this includes how the anthem is sung. Been to both Wales games at the rugby (vs England) and also lots of games with football. In all honesty, while the Six Nations match had the feel of a big event, for the majority, that's all it is. The anthem was of course loud to a degree. However it lacked the passion that you now get at the football. Many people at the rugby these days are people on the jolly and the result is of little consequence. The many real rugby fans have been priced out. I can tell you that the anthem in Bordeaux in Euro 2016, the Ireland Play-Off game at the CCS and even Yma O Hyd are absolute light years ahead of anything you'll hear at the rugby. Light years. It's just a shame that the World Cup is in Qatar. If it was anywhere else, every man and his dog would be there. Would be the biggest exodus since Moses and Egypt. C'mon Wales! Yma O Hyd!

Playing the anthem with only the introduction being accompanied by music is mainly a welsh football thing but its very effective for us. Don't know why they dont do it more at the larger Principality Stadium in Cardiff. Would be electric

Why is the American national anthem so difficult to sing? I'm welsh, but, have been to many events in the US where they sing it and only once have I heard it sung half decently and that was Billy Joel before a Mets game at Shae Stadium.

If I could translate the U.S. anthem into Welsh and sing it that I think would be awesome. It would be nothing against English version but just to honor my Welsh American Revolutionary War ancestor who fought against the British for our freedom. What better honor to.our u.s. anthem then to sing in another language besides the language of our former enemy.

I'm from Wales and the best time to hear the anthem is when there is a Welsh rugby match on the use bands and everything that was amazing but rugby does it better

To really appreciate it, you would have to actually be in the stadium.
