Great Video Henbu ! Most people might know this but still wanted to point out - While we can not configure the Fn button for any other functionality, the menu inside the Fn button is highly customizable and various different options can be selected and changed. To change the default shortcuts to other available shortcuts for both Photo and Video : 'Menu->Setup->Operation Customize->Fn Menu Settings (select and press ok on any of the shortcuts which will then allow to select other possible setting option to be part of Fn Menu)

Hey, there can you please explain why we have to a specific PP for a specific LOG For Example PP 7 For S LOG 2 and PP 8 For S LOG 3 and PP 11 for S - Cinetone why is that?

Great vid, maybe you are aware but you can get 10 bit 422 120p if you do it through s&q mode. You lose the audio but well worth it for the better colour space I recon

It's a very well-made and informative video! Thanks for all of that! One tip. Some KZfaqrs say "now we're going to go ahead and" over and over. You were using the word "actually" over and over and even used it three times in one sentence. That's something to eliminate from your presentation because it means the same thing without the word.

My settings on my a7iv are different in that when I use XAVC S 4K, I can only choose 25p and 140m 4:2:2 10bit, otherwise it’s 100M 4:2:0 8bit

You said there was a problem with 8bit and slog3 in the old cameras. But you set up HD120fps with 8bit and slog3 for the a7 IV. So is this really recommended or isn‘t it better to record in 709 for HD120fps with 8bit?

I noticed that the Image Quality sections for video and photo look a little different. I noticed Aspect Ratio only shows up in photo mode, does this mean that all video is automatically shot in 16:9 or is there another place to change that as I didn’t see an aspect ratio setting for video.

XAVC HS gives you slightly better quality at 100mbit than XAVD S gives at 200mbit - there's really no reason to use S unless your editing machine is incapable of handling HS, but you're using proxies... or you need a specific framerate not available in HS. Similarly for RAW: Uncompressed gives you no extra quality, it just makes viewing the image quicker on slower machines, most would benefit from Lossless Compressed to get identical quality at a smaller file size.

I process the video from my Sony A7 IV with the Topaz Video AI program, achieving excellent video stabilization and an absolutely smooth full-frame picture at 59.94 FPS (having converted the video using this program from 29.97 FPS).

I think you got the stabilisation wrong. Standard is OSS (when available) + IBIS and Active is digital stabilisation (think warp stabilisation with position & rotation) that's why there is a crop (just like in premiere with warp or any other software) so it can stabilise in post.

HENBU please help with a monitor question. Trying to find a monitor for my a7iv where I can see the AF square box, face tracking and tapping for autofocus ON the actual external monitor as well as the sony lcd screen while recording video. Can't seem to find any monitor that supports this. I've seen the portkeys monitor that supports touch to autofocus but I find it so strange that there isn't one monitor on the market that shows the touch tracking box on it. I feel like I would constantly be looking at the LCD screen which defeats the whole purpose of a monitor. Any advice?

Correct me if I am wrong, but HS 4k and S 4k have the same bit rate so no difference in file size. But with HS 4K (h.265) having higher and more modern compression algorithm, it can actually store more data in the same file size. Therefore it is suppose to have better image quality. The only downside is the higher computer processing requirements.

I have found the answer, in your camera menu on your Sony a7iv go down to SETUP on the left its the yellow bar and then in AREA/DATE go to NTSC/PAL SELECTOR then press ENTER and your frame rate should be changed to allow you to use 24fps 30fps and 60fps all in 4k, and 120 FPS in 1080p. It's all down to different countries using different power so that the camera frame rate doesn't capture light clicker. I hope this help good luck 😊
