Cosplayer HendoArt shows us her build of Samus Aran’s Varia Power Suit from the Metroid series! I like how you solved the problem of Samus' tiny torso - pushing the thigh armor up higher really sells the illusion.

Correction: Samus is actually 26 years old by time Metroid Fusion.

depends on which timeline you use, according to mdb's one she is 31-32 years old in fusion.

I just did some number crunching and looking over the games timelines, and Samus is actually 29 by time Metroid Fusion.

Yes, Ginnifer Goodwin will be starring as Samus Aran in Metroid Prime 4, and Samus will be 40 years old in the game

That’s seriously impressive work but if I had one teensy nitpick (sorry!) I would suggest making the cannon larger than it currently is; the overall suit, lighting, shoulder proportions, back plates, legs, arms, visor, helmet - they all look really well proportioned, but the cannon just looks a undersized and anaemic for Samus’ look from Metroid Prime. Just look at the box cover art for the GameCube title. The cannon is basically hanging down to the level of her knees. But once again, this is so exciting to look at.

I just want to say that this was a wonderful cosplay even if some of the edges are a bit rough up close. But so glad that it came out so well and probably the best lightwork I've seen on a Samus, you go girl!

Hyperx is probably the only company that listens to the customers, with the Cloud Alpha improving bass, cushion, and microphone. Are there any plans on an open back headset, because everybody wants more soundstage from their headset

Honestly most people get the helmet right but where it gets screwed up the most is the shoulders and waist or torso area.

The area where the helmet and chest align, also the helmet is often too big in proportion to the rest of the armour. I think there is a way to do it, but it's most likely not easy to do it.

@@Drojanx The way is to make the torso and leg armor larger/longer. This would require the wearer to be a bit on the taller side for the proportions to look correct. For example, look up some images of samus cosplay with a really short girl. The proportions are the furthest from being correct.

I think if the cannon was twice the size and the shoulder pauldrons were just a touch larger, it wouldn’t be such a distraction. But hey, it’s a solid 8.5/10 from me, which is better than my 0/10, because I haven’t made one of these.

I agree to some extent. Any character can be sexualized, and I don't see a problem with that. But it seems like Nintendo goes out of their way to sexualize her without the suit on, which is weird to me considering... they're Nintendo.

She's a girl. Her body just compliments her badass-ness. Same as Bayonetta. Nothing wrong with a female game protagonist using beauty to her advantage.
