Henoch-Schonlein purpura (also known as anaphylactoid purpura) is a type of vasculitis that affects small blood vessels and characterized by elevated immunoglobulin A (IgA). Symptoms of this disease include skin lesions, joint pain, blood in urine (hematuria), and abdominal pain. Health professionals diagnosis Henoch-Schonlein purpura through blood tests (elevated IgA). This disease is often treated with steroids. Created by Ian Mannarino.

Unfortunately he pronounced it incorrectly, but it was a good attempt for an American/non-German speaker!!! It's difficult to transcribe without sound, but it's closer to: "Hen-okh shuhhn-lyn." Where lyn rhymes with vine. The ö/oe is like how we'd say "uhhh"/"errr" in English.

Yes I've experienced this. This is a very painful disease I've ever had as an 11 year old....I also couldn't walk without crying and feeling the burning on my feet. At nights at the hospital I would scream and cry and cry all night because it was really burning on my feet. The thing is that disease attacked my abdomen first. It is when that white blood vessels accidentally attacks your immune system but it's first started with my abdomen (stomach) then this started to appear.....I had joint pains at my wrists, knees and my fingers while I had those tiny little spots on my feet. I'm still alive today because I suffered all thought this and I prayed to Jesus...I'm still 11 years old today.

I contracted strep throat in August of 2020 a couple weeks later was diagnosed with HSP. I had never really been sick in 47 yrs other than common colds or an occasional flu. This was an awful experience, besides the nasty rash I was immobile for over a month, out of work for 2 months, couldn't wear regular shoes due to swelling and wounds from the rash, have large scarring and redness over the majority of my hands, legs and feet and now having kidney issues. I'm a big guy and consider myself to be pretty tough but this broke me physically and mentally.

My 63 yo wife has been suffering from this since 2003. It had destroyed her kidneys liver and intestines. Plus it had ravaged her hips and knees and is now affecting her hands and arms. It has never truly gone into remission. She has small purpera breakouts from top of head to her toes. Currently her breakout is on her ear. She is in so much chronic pain she is unable to sleep in a bed and can only sleep in a chair. It is a awful disease, painfully unyielding daily pain and constant wanting to throw up. She is down to 20 percent kidney function.

Im one of the rare cases that happened as an adult from 17 until I was like 27 not consecutive it would skip a year or two. On and off for a couple of days or weeks at a time. I had all of the symptoms, the worst one was the stomach cramps, they would be so bad that I couldn't eat or drink. I pooped small amounts of blood after heavy stomach cramping. I was diagnosed after a year of on and off doctor visits until they did a skin extraction on the blemish. The joint pains were bad too but manageable as I knew what was happening. I feel bad for little kids who have this, especially the stomach cramps 😫....

@@adityabhande8874 sorry for the late reply, I didn't notice. But my doctor said to let it take its course, there is no treatment or way to stop it. Just find comfort during the out breaks. I would suggest to find something soft and nutritious if stomach cramping and eat small quantities. Avoid as much physical activities when joints start to hurt as they will get worse before they get better.

I had this when I was super young, probably around 5. They misdiagnosed my ankle pain after i fell on Ice and the hospital thought it was fractured, so they proceeded to put a cast on it. The cast was on it till the next day when I was rushed to emergency, to a different hospital and they cut it off immediately to my ankle had swelled around the cast. Beleive it or not, it turned out that I had this. My parents said I was in extreme pain the whole time and there was times where my feet swelled up to the size of my dads feet. In the end it got better but that was after a long time of enduring extreme pain and staying in the hospitals for days if not weeks. I remember staying there throughout the Easter weekend and I remember they brought video games in to my room for me to play as I was stuck in bed the whole time. I still have my little cast too for the misdiagnosement 😂

I was diagnosed at the age of 25, am now 34. Went 1 week undiagnosed. Went through my whole body swelling because my kidney was shutting down and wasnt urinating. I swell so much that i was leaking fluids out my pores. I really went through the whole stage of this and it was the worse days of my life. A week prior i had strep throat that went untreated because i rather work than be seen By my dr. I KNOW if i just took the time to see them i wouldnt have gotten IgA. Now i go dialysis 3 times a week for 3 hours long. Its the rest of my life. I have since lost 150 pounds, from no appetite to everything tasting metalic to depression. Its as worst as life can get at this point so i just accept it and live life till its my time. IT SUCKS!

The benefits of the HPV vaccine far, far outweigh the risks. Cervical cancer is no joke. According to the CDC 43% of adults have genital HPV (though not all strains cause cancer, the others cause warts). It is the most common sexually transmitted infection. Better safe than sorry. I'm 30 and I have received the vaccine.

@@srikanthgoudbasha I got this 2 years ago, and I can say, it really hits adults so much harder than kids. Mosquito bites have made some real damage on the skin, and now I have a lot of dark spots around my ankles because they healed slowly and all wrong. At least I haven't had belly pain or joint pain for a while, as they stopped a couple of months from the onset. It really sucks to know I will have these ugly scars forever, and even worse, that I still have swelling in my feet, I feel like they are burning up and become really irritated even if I sit at work. I wish it would go away, every other symptom has slowly declined but the lower legs are still slightly swollen every time I stand.

My wife was diagnosed in 2004 with thus disease. It has never gone away and has grown progressively worse each year. She now can only walk with a walker and recieved injections in her hips every three months and knees every 5 months. She sleeps on a couch recliner and is unable to sleep in a bed due to pain. She is on the highest dose of pain medication allowed. Her kidneys are now at 25 percent and her hands and shoulders and elbows are now showing signs. HAP literally has destroyed her joints that the smallest movement is agony. The pain meds barely make life for her possible albeit in misery day in day out. She can eat but gets sick after every meal. She has constant muscle cramping and involuntary movement. Her life is hell. So this video does not cover those who never go into remission. It is slowly killing her.

@@hanim1066 no it has become worse. She is now in a wheel chair unable to walk. She screams in pain all night. It got so bad we had her go to the emergency room in may. They ignored her when we explained what she was stricken with. Instead she caught MERS and they placed her in an extended stay facility which was even worse. They kept trying to rehab her so she could walk. And of course they took away her pain meds and anti siezure medication. Basically they tortured her for 21 days, and she was not allowed to leave as no one would continue her MERS biologic med. We explained how hsp has destroyed her hip joints and knees. Nobody cares. If it isnt superficial they cannot be bothered. The nursing home did not continue her blood thining meds which the emergency just put her on as well as for the heart attack she apparently had while in the hospital. I would not wish this HSP on any person as an adult its a creep to agony. All she talks about is wanting to die. Misery is her name and she escapes in 1/2 naps throughout a day from shear exaustion and only to be woke from severe muscle cramping.

had it in middle school 7th grade right before my grandma died had it for over a year and couldnt walk comfortably for 6 months. never got it a second time and i graduated in june. i still remember it like it was yesterday though! id wake up to what felt like crawling under my skin, had to sleep on the floor, pain meds, throwing up constantly, needing help doing everything. my hands had swollen up so badly i couldnt make a fist. came out of no where too! one night i noticed a rash on my legs, told my dad, not even a hour later i was swelling behind my knees, went to the hospital and in the waiting room I swelled up so badly I was immediately put in a room. I was in there almost a week until they figured out what I had after having an infectious diseases doctor visit. After I was released I had to see him once a month. I had brain scans because they seen my head starting to swell, and I had it spread to my chest and stomach so I had to have xrays taken of my kidneys. - I wish you well, and im praying for your recovery. & not just you anyone who is reading this!

dealing with this crap now. the rash started on my ankels, and it looked like scabies. so my mother took me to the doctor and they treated as scabies. when I got the steroids the swelling whent down immediantly. the rashed didn't hurt yet so when it wasn't swelled I was happy. we thought It wa going away but the rash spead to the rest of my body. nkels, feet, upper legs, hips, stomach, back, arm, hands, and face. then I started getting pain in my stomach and I could eat for 5 days, that's whenwe went back to te doctor and they sent me strait the the hospital nd diagnosed m with this crap. my knees hurt a lot and my feet are mn difrent colors and have black holes everywere tht are really big and they look as if they are gun shot wounds. I have bisters everywhere and it hurts to walk and ther re few days where I cant walk because of pain. and none of my shoe fit so I where boat shies tht are 2 sizes to big, and I have to wear socks and at the end of the day when I take them off they pull at the scabs and bliters and they stick to the sock because of the weaping. this stuf is horibal, wouldn't wih it on my ors enemy

I had it too at 18 yrs old back in 2005. After a horrible case of strep throat I got the rash, joint pain, and terrible stomach pain. My rash wasn't as bad as yours, but my stomach pain was AWFUL! I ended up having a bowel intussusception, and needed a bowel resection to not die. After they removed some of my bowel, my symptoms started to get a little better, but they still hung around for another 2-3 years. 10 years later I have no symptoms :) One thing that I found help me is to always make sure you are getting enough sleep. if I would stay up late, my rash would get worse. stay strong! HSP, is the worst, but there is a light at the end of the tunnel.
