We do a review on the Henry Golden Boy lever action rifle in .22 S/L/LR! We adjust the sights and run a few rounds through her! Not only does this gun look great, it shoots well too! I also go over some of the history of the Henry company. From its headquarters in Rice Lake, Wisconsin, to it's owner Anthony Imperato, to the brasslite of the receiver, we go over it and shoot it!

I own 3 Henry rifles, a 30-30, a 22 lr lever and a 22 mag pump. All are very high quality, shoot and function great. I also love they are completely made in America, even the walnut for their stocks is American grown!

Three shot increments then make adjustments. The last group was consistently low and to the right. Don’t be afraid to move the sights. My friend has the same rifle and we hit the bull’s-eye all day long at 50 yards.

I have this same rifle and I couldn't be happier with it. Everything about it shows outstanding craftsmanship. The blue is the darkest of any of my collection, every surface is polished, there's not a sharp edge on it anywhere, there were no loose screws except possibly the adjustable insert on the rear site and I may be remembering that wrong, the action is very slick, there are no loose pieces, no gaps where parts join. and the Walnut is probably the best wood of any gun I've ever held and I'm 65 years old It's easily the most beautiful long gun in my collection, and possibly outshines my best pistols as well and there's some excellent well made handguns there. It's obvious that every person involved in producing this rifle loves what they're doing and is very good at what they do. It may be the only thing I've bought in recent months that didn't have a single flaw, rare these days. I haven't fired it from a bench with appropriate pads and a steady position to best test the zero but it seems to be dead on right out of the box. The trigger pull is great. The rifle just feels like quality when you hold it. It functions flawlessly with all the ammo I've put through it. several offerings of shorts, and long rifle, one example of sub-sonic LR and although CB caps and shot shells are not recommended, both of those also perform with no problems at all. The only thing I would change is I'd like the front blade to be about three times the thickness and the notch of the rear site to be correspondingly wider although it does have "safari" type sights that allow for a hasty reasonably true target acquisition as with big, dangerous game rifles of the past so I feel confident should I be charged by a vicious squirrel I will be able to dispatch it without risking injury, LOL I have two other .22 rifles, a Ruger 10/22 and a '70s vintage Winchester , both being semi autos and the Henry is now my favorite. I think my next purchase will be a Henry in .357 mag.

Some people just love the lever actions, even more than the semi autos. When you get used to them, you almost become one with the gun. The way you gotta reload and re-aim. They are pretty awesome!

Nice looking gun! However, it looks like your friend is pulling the trigger, and therefor hitting to the right. Try squeezing it, and the bullet cluster should thighten up considerably.

I read Henry become Winchester. This company started in New York not all that long ago. Am I mistaken?

There were ties of the original Benjamin Tyler Henry and Winchester. I believe Winchester was an investor before taking the company over. New Haven, CT. This Henry (Henry Repeating Arms) is a pretty new company.

The golden is nice because when you’re not shooting it, it’s great to look at or display! Sometimes you can get a deal on them. This one came from Wal-Mart of all places.

These rifles are not in the same class as the Marlin 39(A) nor the Winchester 9422(M). The aforementioned rifles have a long and historic legacy which the "Henry" company does not and they both have forged steel receivers whereas the alleged "Henry" has a receiver made of Zamak (pot metal).

Yeah there are better quality rifles out there then Henry’s. But the Henry’s are definitely better than a lot out there. Thanks for the info.

It’s a general term. Like engine oil or engine lubricant. Depends how technical you wanna be. There’s a difference when someone says “motor” in their car instead of “engine”. But if you know what they mean, who cares?
