Motor sounds a bit dry but not bad considering what it is put through!!! Give it a clean and use some hepaflo bags!!!!! Otherwise your Henry aint gonna last much longer!

julian morris Poor Henry, it is not going to last much longer if you don't use bags, it is pushing 20 years that machine, when you use it bagless, it is putting strain on that OLD motor...The fine dust passes through the filter and through the motor, which coats the bearings, which will wear them out or dry them up and after a long period of time, that fine dust will coat the copper wires on the armature and eventually the copper wires will fail and boom, the motor burns out. I can't stress it enough for you to use bags, they are about £5 for 10, DIRT CHEAP! if you swept up most of the mess and then vacuumed up the rest, you would not go through that many bags and ultimately, this Henry will last longer, by the looks of it, it has had a hard life.

hoover master it belongs to the firm.They are not going to worry about a 20 year old £100 hoover. That's why they won't be buying bags for it. Cheaper to replace with a new one when it breaks than pay £5 for 10 bags. Do the maths

olli vac guy I agree. One of the reasons I've just bought a Henry is that I was fed up to the back teeth with my bloody bagless cleaner, which released tons dirt while I was cleaning it, which I had to do every time I used it, according to the manufacturer,. I suppose having the luxury to empty it outside would've been nice, for me, if not for the neighbours! :O) I've heard that Henrys can be used bagless, but I'll forgo that option, given this video and stick the the ease of using and disposing of a bag!

olli vac guy Cheers. We have two of the older model at work. I used mine on the first day I bought it, (last Tuesday) and vacuumed everything in sight and much that isn't. Weirdly, my whole home *feels* much cleaner. Maybe the other "cleaner," hadn't been picking up stuff for ages.

Is Henry still alive today, I doubt it the abuse it’s been through with a bag if it’s 20 years old you might be able to push another 10 years out of it with a bag and getting it serviced every now and then. I can’t stress it enough people not using bags with a numatic machine what the heck, anyways poor Henry. My other 14 year old Henry still going today and I’m hoping I will be able to push another 13 years out of it. Just please use a genuine numatic bag they’re dirt cheap.

Salma Begum actually you do need to. The filter is just a motor filter. The bag is the primary defense and collection medium. Without using a bag the motor filter gets caked and the fine particulate passes through which destroys the motor. These never were designed to be bagless, that’s why they are shipped with a bag and bags are sold for them.
