Learn about 20 different camera movements and how they each might impact your film. Camera movement is one of the most effective ways to enhance your film, by making it more visually appealing or Cinematic. Camera movements can be split into 5 different categories, based on how the Frame is manipulated to get the shot; No Movement (static), Altering Camera Angles (pan, tilt), Physically Moving the Camera (dolly, crane), Making in Camera Adjustments (focal pull, zoom) and Creative Combinations thereof. This is part 4 of my Cinematography or filmmaking techniques video series

I love the focal pull technique, that is my favorite reveal technique used by filmmakers.

I very much appreciate your extensive break down of seemingly similar camera movement (but with underlying differences) and how you connect them to motivation (which is what hides behind the movement itself). There are a lot of videos enumerating the different camera movements but yours is the first (I have seen so far) that explains the subtle nuances. Really helpful and sticks to mind! Thank you man! It's really a shame the video doesn't have more views! Really good work!

Sorry for not responding yet, was away on vacation and not really responding to comments. But, really glad it was helpful. It seems most people making these types of videos are often missing certain movements or just clump a bunch of them together under a more general term (tracking for example). And, yes I'd like it to have more views too! Thanks for watching!

I am curious to see the blocking , kindly make it playlist , because it is core of filmmaking

Some blocking concepts will be present in the framing video coming next. But, blocking is a harder concept to represent with "movie clips" like I've been doing in this series, so a full blocking video will take some time/be in the future for sure.

I actually get a lot of these types of comments. I think it's because I don't pump videos all the time, so KZfaq doesn't always promote my stuff. But I do wish more people would see this series of videos for sure. Thanks for the support!

Please make More Videos on the Reason Why the Camara Movement or Not Movement. Motivational Camara Movement vs Unmotivated Camara Movement ?
@ThisGuy
@ThisGuy 2 жыл бұрын
The plan is/was to do more of these types of filming technique videos, but none of them did very well views-wise so I'm now trying to figure out a new approach. Maybe in shorter chunks...? I'll definitely keep the Motivated vs Unmotivated idea on my list. Thanks for watching!

I decided to make movements part 4 and framing part 3, but finished the movements video first, so I uploaded it first. Framing will be done next.

About a third of these terms (names) are just made up. Thirty years on movie sets never heard of many of them. Good examples, though.
