○ Introduction to the work
Unlike Chopin, who never performed in Russia and America, Henryk Wieniawski enjoyed worldwide fame. His violin concertos are, along with the works of Niccolò Paganini and Henri Vieuxtemps, among the only virtuoso concertos for violin of the 19th century that are still played today.
