Kat (or "Katwise" as she's known on Etsy) fell in love with a dilapidated 180 year old farmhouse and spent years renovating it into a rainbow, psychedelic wonderland. In this video, she takes us on a full tour, showcasing secret rooms, wild decorations, crazy collections, and, of course, her homemade sweaters which paid for the entire project.

Which room in Kat's rainbow farmhouse is your favorite: Seafoam kitchen, psychadelic hallway, wall of faces guest nook, plant-filled bathroom, wall of mirrors ballroom, gentlemen's quarters, secret man library, optical-illusion staircase, sad-doll bedroom, sweater studio, or zen attic?

Ironically, the less colorful bathroom as despite all the plants taking up the windows it somehow manages to be lighter than the rest of that house. Since it's currently wintertime I once again am reminded of how much I need daylight to stay positive and motivated. So while cozy the rest of the house is just to dark for me and the zen attic isn't lived in enough for my tastes. 😅 But the outside is gorgeous with all those colors ❣

She has done something so wonderfully hippie dellic, very fun to look at on a cold winter day. Don't ever leave it because it is a reflexion of your artwork. A house is a terrible thing to waste.

What respect? I think she kept that as something that would add originality to the house not because she was paying respect to the prev owner.

Where upstate? I'm in argyle. We got an 1859 farm house and are doing our best to keep it original. Next year we'll be removing the siding and restoring our barn. I have to admit I really hate it when someone buys an old home just to make it new. These homes are so precious. I love that my home has the spirit of the land woven in, with wood and other materials coming from the property. People were born and died in my home. No amount of money can recreate it. Its one of the great things the working class has access to. I hate to see rich people with their shite taste gut an old house.

Wow, that isn't just a home, it's an adventure. It's a neverending story disguised as a house. My favorite room is her studio, because of the big, yellow dresser. I'm an artist, and understand her hunger and thirst for constant change of her surroundings. There are as many ideas running through my head, as there are colors. So young Lady, I want to tell you to keep your visions and inner child alive because, "The universe is your canvas. Paint the sky!"

I can still remember when Kat first bought this house. She went to the paint store and said, “I’ll take a gallon of every color!” No other artist has inspired me as much as Kat has. In fact, if I was granted a wish to be able to meet one person in the world, it would be her. I love her free spirit, her beautiful smile, her compassion, talent, and decorating skills. She gets confused between “ I don’t need anything , so Give me lots of it” 😂😂😂😂that is a magical statement, that embodies what it is to be an evolved soul in a material body in a playground of an earthy world. Oh the joy may everyone on earth have their needs met, and then, may they feel the joy as this artist soul does so effortlessly. Confused? More like connected, and free. She wears her confusion well. ❤️✌️👏

@@TheAmyplumpness I agree with this. Writing has helped me through a lot as well as singing. (If you can find a good support group that helps too. The pain groups made me feel worse. I ended up finding a home in the comedy community. Theyve even helped me get food and go to comedy shows and given me gifts after surgery. I am very greatful for them and my family. Sometimes its ok to let other people help you and show you that there is still more good than evil in this world. )

As a person that has rarely had a day without pain, I understand how difficult it can be not to let it drain the life out of you. I’m so happy that you found a supportive community…also laughter always makes life better. I also found groups that meet about their pain just brought me down. I think writing your story is an excellent idea. I’m already interested just from what you have said here. Another idea would be to write about the kind, fascinating community you live in. I’m sure there are many people that live there that have interesting stories you could share. Take care of yourself…you are in my thoughts and prayers.

Kats' last words echo the sentiment that our possessions own us and, if that is so, then being owned by ectectic, fun, and colorful stuff is much better than being owned by boring stuff.

My fav is her balancing of all the colors and patterns on the exterior. She has a great eye with everything she has done on the buildings (bus included) and her sweaters make me smile.

I think it's great she has kept herself in her home!! People homes tend to look just like someone else's, so it's definitely one of a kind! So cool!! Ps: i hope it never changes❤

I need to know more about her life and challenges she has faced. I think we all could be her but we instead have so many responsibilities forced upon us. Adulting is hard. Doesn't she worry about health coverage or retirement? She is delightful.

What a lovely home and a lovelier woman! What struck me the most was how she viewed happiness, although she loves the house, she knows it is still a material thing and that true happiness comes from within. By the way, my favorite was the secret library and the outdoors! Also your sweaters!! They look awesome.

The personality of the house really reflects Kat Wise's personality. Fun, young at heart, uplifting & on the wild side of questionable, but it all makes sense when you think of it. When room decor changes drastically, you know as a guest it brings on a different personality of it's own. I don't think my personality shines throughout my home, but Kat has brought her home to life with expression, love & crazy fun which can make everyday bright & cheery.

I work with someone that's like this. Her outlook is that she is going to paint her house the way she wants - including making one room look like the inside of a castle - because she plans on living and dying in the house. She's not concerned with resale value because she doesn't ever intend on selling it. She's got multi colored rooms and loves Harry Potter, and one of her kids' rooms is covered with professionally done graffiti art. She's honestly one of the best humans I've ever met and is an amazing parent. I told her the world would be a better place if we had more parents like her and I meant it.
