On the one hand, looking at this from the game perspective and not fandom, it's a total Darth Vader moment, scoring the previous villain for not being able to do their job while he strikes fear into all. On the other hand, Mono would've held out hope for six. Until the tower caused him to snap. It's honestly heartbreaking how the tables turn from her uncaring attitude and his love, to her obsessing over what she didn't realize she had before, and him accepting that it can't be the way he hoped.

I guess the time he spent in that hellscape really did a number on him. She is trying to make things right but he cannot think like that. The only thing remaining is hatred. Because of her betrayal. Hope little nightmares 3 can heal this wound between them.

Mono (as Thin-Man) was right from his point of view towards Six (the Lady), how she betrayed him after all the things they'd been through together as children trying to escape Pale City, and it injuried Mono's heart emotionally... if she didn't let go things would've been a better outcome but instead she unknownly repeat the time loop. Mono was deedly afraid of being alone and how the good deeds he done for Six ended with nothing, his loneliness turned into unbridle anger of Six's selfish betrayal as he spent so many years completely alone inside the Signal Tower as every ounge of his humanity slowly dies until he becomes a Shadow of his former-self as the Thin-Man.

Mono must’ve been hitting the gym during the times he left the tower, he ain’t looking much like a thin man but a thicc man.

When six said “but you broke my music box” I was confused until I realized her music was the thing that basically kept her calm and sane… when she became the monster she held the music box with her, she even had a makeshift music box when we found her locked up… I feel bad for both kids tbh it’s really depressing the tower made them this way

For everyone who thinks six betrayed mono If six really betrayed mono,why was she so attached to him? One answer She had a vision and saw the thin man… So out of fear she dropped mono So no she didn’t betray him, she let him die on accident,yes it’s crazy to believe but six didn’t mean to drop him, you all have to remember she has horrifying visions that come out of nowhere

Well we can't blame him for acting that way he was literally trapped in a room inside of a tv doomed to repeat time for an eternity and dont forget dies in the process

However, there is still good left Mono's tormented shell... that he couldn't bring himself to kill her out of anger, it would make him feel more empty and lonely as he was as a child, even if her betrayal still hurt him after so many years of eternal solitude, deep down Mono is still the kind boy he used to be. Killing Six would never bring him peace despite the betrayal he suffered, everything that happened between them, Mono will never bring himself to kill her for revenge, instead taking misery by letting go of her neck proves that there is still humanity left in his heart outside of his corrupted form as Thin-Man, after all taking her life away would never bring back what he'd loss.

Actually Six seems to have forgot Mono or lost her memories because inside and outside tower time is different and she most likely lost memories because of presence of the Signal.

Mono looks like Hades from Lore olympus tbh and I ship them so much I always hoped them a happy ending and a perfect life together
