I watched the entire funeral on TV all day, but here the perspective is completely different. Much more deep and overwhelming. Damn, I can't believe it myself, but my tears are falling when I watch this.

I was in Horseguards Parade when the funeral service began,. Wasn't expecting anything for at least a half hour when out of the blue, the Tidworth Army band came through the arch banging the big drum and strartled everyone. The hairs stood up on the back of my neck at times during the preliminaries.

I was surprised that the 'Dead March' from Handel's 'Saul' did not make an appearance at any stage. It's normally a staple on occasions like this, is it not? Another of my favourites is the march from the funeral music for Queen Mary by Henry Purcell. Had it been included somewhere, there would have been at least one British funeral march.

The whole procession spanned from the junction of Horse Guards Approach and the Mall all the way across Horse Guards, down Whitehall to Westminster Abbey. The Royal Canadian Mounted Police headed the procession in front of the first band (The Band and Bugles of the Rifles) at the bottom of the Mall therefore not on this video. However you can see them on my video of the early morning rehearsal that was taken from that exact location where the whole procession goes past unlike this video where it starts in the middle due to my positioning on the press stand.

Since Elizabeth II died, there has been much publicity, not so much thought about why she matters, and why monarchy is helpful in general. Monarchy shouldn't be used as real-life soap opera, nor as mere material to fill space in the media. The achievement of the British monarchy should become clear in comparison with the histories of other countries. In the 19th & 20th centuries the U.S.A, France, Germany, Russia, Italy, Spain and Greece suffered in various ways civil wars, political storms, and dictatorships. This shows what can go wrong in the absence of a head of state which is above politics, and which opposes illegal dictatorship. If there are many reasons England, Wales, Scotland, Canada and Australia have had no civil war since Culloden in 1746, having a constitutional monarchy to unify all the people is an important reason. In the UK, 'peace' in formal speech is "The King's Peace". Of course Prince Andrew must disappear from public life; King Charles III's first marriage was a tragic mistake; Prince Philip could be tactless. Whatever mistakes the royal family have made, let us be grateful for the unity the monarchy gives in the UK & the world. The sea around it didn't protect the U.S.A. against civil war in the 1860s, and the UK could have suffered civil war over slavery in the 19th century; likewise over world war, loss of empire, economic failure, or race in the 20th. There will always be violence and political problems in the world, and billions of people who know or understand nothing of the British monarchy and the stability it brings Britain, the commonwealth (e.g. Canada & Australia). By stabilizing Britain & the commonwealth, it promotes peace in the world. Since the 1700s, billions of people have lived under the British crown without civil war, lynching, dictatorship in their lives. God save King Charles III, and his successors.

@@patrickferran1678 "Victory to ...". Never happen mate. Apologies. We'd rather an unelected Head of State than the political arse**les your "Republican Movement" would impose on us.

There's always one. You get the medal for being a complete disgrace. Well done you.

Give ‘me’ a break……They are all toy servicemen and women and the medals come from Hambleys. The shop has to constantly produce new ones after every overseas conflict that our toys are expected to be part of, in a general big play. Occasionally it can get rough and over 7 000 have died since WW2.
