I started belly dancing twice a week in July and it’s helping me so much. Helping clear out trauma from my womb, helping my scoliosis, and helping me want a child. Thank you! I also love the sisterhood and that we celebrate who we are and don’t compare ourselves. Supportive womban

Loved this sooo much. Made me tear up in the end, hearing the bit about inheriting this from your mother as a rite of passage. It’s an honor to see this! I feel so honored too to be able to share and teach the womb wisdom of my indigenous Mexican culture. Blessings + flowers for you Adelaide! 🙏🏽🌻

Loved your story!! I’ve always been extremely fascinated and attracted to belly dancing. Attended a class and want to learn so much more! What suggestions do you have? Have been dealing with ongoing GI problems and my gut feeling is telling me this is the answer for my healing.

I always thought that belly dance originated with our african ancestors of egypt and beyond with whom the mothers did exactly as you said, they taught the daughters and passed this fertility dance on for many centuries.. In our culture it is still very private in many families seeing as many are Muslim and it is forbidden for women to show skin. So, maybe belly dance has many origins. So many of our cultures have this at the root of our femininity it's fascinating to hear your story.

It was created by Roma from Rajasthani in India. In Egypt Roma women of the nawab tribe were called ghawazee. They are cited in both turkey and Iran as the creators of belly dance there.

Hey there, belly dance history enthusiast. You cannot prove belly dance origins. You cannot prove that it was a fertility dance. You cannot prove that it was originated from Egypt or any other country. It's very old and it varies from country to country.

I’ve always been extremely attracted to belly dancers 😍 At first I thought it was just a sex thing, but eventually I started to realize that its enchanting effects on me go much deeper than physical attraction. Recently I’ve been delving more into its rich history and have come to a better understanding of the hypnotic magic of our womb!

Coins were worn by the gawazee. It was their dowry. Fertility ritual sounds romantic, likely Greek, but it’s only an idea. There’s no evidence. What you know for sure is that it became popular as a performance art during the golden age of cinema 100yrs ago in Cairo. It was and is a dance done by everyone- men, women, children in the Middle East

@@omarloky7945 The origin is controversial. It is common to attribute the origin to fertility rituals in Egypt, although Egyptology claims that there are no records of this dance modality in the papyrus - the Egyptian dances had acrobatic nature. Just look at the paintings, there is nothing belly dancing about them. You need to study. Book recommendation: CENCI, Claudia. History of Belly Dancing.

@@omarloky7945 You are not Egyptian. The real Egyptians are extinct. The Muslim Arabs who invaded Egypt in the 7th century did this. They are your ancestors. You are an Arab descendant of Arab Muslims 🌷✨😉
