Herb Alpert has been the definition of cool for six decades.

Thank you Herb for giving the Carpenters a chance and siging them to A&M and showing the world just how great they were.

Back in the mid sixties, Herb Alpert inspired me to play trumpet. I could never get enough as I emulated him to near perfection. Eventually I studied Maynard Ferguson and other trumpet greats playing stratospheric music but I always carried Herb Alpert with me. I was never able to become famed because my whole repertoire was covers with only a few of my own creations. I eventually got throat cancer, survived it but that ended my thirty years of playing at the age of forty. Now I just listen and sometimes hum along in a low voice. Herb's music will always stay in my heart at age seventy. Thank you Herb Alpert for our many years together and the duets I always played with you in my heart and mind and in my dreams. I love Lani too ! Hi Lani !

Now im in my early 50s. I never skipped a day ,,,, stay healthy and i hope he luves the longest life. Lani hall must be very lucky.

I grew up listening to Herb Alpert all my life and I must say this concert is VERY NICE, my favorite is "Rise". My 22 yr. old son and I listened to Tijuana Brass last night and he really liked it and wanted to hear more. Herb is the best horn player in my book!

I grew up with Herb Alpert & the Tijuana Brass being played on cassettes during our family's frequent long car trips. Being a family of whistlers, it got pretty competitive! A pleasant gateway drug into the world of Spanish guitar and mariachi bands, followed by the current love of my life, la musica cubana. Gracias, Herb!

Herb Albert is, at best, an above-average trumpet player. No Doc Severinsen, Maynard Ferguson, Bill Chase or even Al Hirt or Winton Marcellus here. However, that said, he is a musical genius! He knew what the average person wanted to hear. The kind of person who didn't care about Arban, triple tonguing, or double High C's! He brought entertainment to the masses the way no other trumpet player ever has! I respect him for that and love his music now more than ever! So, be a trumpet snob if you want to be, but to the average Joe, Herb Albert is a trumpet hero! Thank you, Herb Albert! You are the average trumpet player's hero and the most famous of them all! Not bad, not bad at all!

Met Herb Alpert in 1978 while awaiting to board a flight at Winnipeg International in Canada. We chanted for about 10 minutes and he is so classy and what a talent ! Jazz is not easy to perform but he can do it all. The musicians in this video are top notch ! Great performance ...thanks for loading it for all to appreciate !

I bought my first HA album around 1965 and still love to Ballroom & West Coast Swing to Herb's inspirational music, especially the Latin rhythmns. He is a gentlemen, an extraordinary composer, arranger, producer, musician & corporate exec. He is a true renaissance musician. God bless you Herb!

I just saw Herb play at the Hollywood Bowl this past summer 2013 - he had a full house and that place seats more than 10,000. It was a wonderful and magical night. Wish they had filmed it for video.
