Extremely rare video segment from the Singer Show in 1967. Enjoy.
P.S. I had the once in a lifetime opportunity to see Herb and Lani play at Blues Alley in Georgetown Washington DC 12 May 2008. The show was absolutely spectacular. After all these years, they both still have it: the skills and the love. Truly a remarkable show. Herb and Lani, thanks to all of the wonderful years of warming our hearts with your great art work. You both are truly blessed as well as I was at your show.

I remember this video very well as I saw it live on TV as a kid! I knew after hearing Herb Alpert and the TJB I wanted to be a trumpet player! I went on to major in music and here I am 55 years later and still a trumpet player! It has been a joy to have so many wonderful students over the years and I still play in our community band and at church. While I am primarily a classical trumpet player, I must thank Herb for influencing me to play!

How absolutely evocative of the bull, alone and facing the Matador and certain death, but resolved to go out fighting. What a metaphor for the human spirit also. Not one word, just instruments but the tune says so much more than can be expressed in any language.

This is a very audacious music video!!! I frankly don't know how they did it, as there were no drones in those days. Sure, the quality isn't so great by modern standards, but primitive technology didn't stop them from taking risks and trying to tell a story visually. Kudos

I always liked Herb Alpert's Mariachi style music. A real master of the trumpet. This is one of the first of his records I listened to. And still enjoy hearing him play.

Listening to while seeing this is an instantaneous time machine, beautifully dazzling beyond description, totally ageless and then suddenly becoming obvious how far we've musically devolved for many years now.

I always think of this as a tribute to the bull. The bloodthirsty crowd cheers the struting matador as the dying bull stands alone ignored by all.

I remember this song when I had just turned 18 and was in Bossier City, La for the state basketball championships, a few of us Seniors went to a bar on the Strip and a girl came and whispered in my ear " watch me, this is for you" loudly playing in the background was this song and she stepped up on a table, about 2 feet tall, and began dancing the sexiest and slowest dance I'd had ever seen she never took her eyes away from me. Her name was Bonnie B......... I am 70 now and it's still as fresh as if were yesterday.

One of the greatest pieces of music ever that exemplifies an entire culture of people and it's nation. Being a native Southern Californian all my life, for me, this truly speaks of Mexico, IMO. Thanks for uploading this.

I feel really old. I remember seeing this on tv when I was a youngster. In my family anything with Herb Alpert and TJB was positively watched. It was the only concert that we as a family travelled to Washington DC to see. My aunts and uncles and the whole family went. Of course at the time Brasil 66 was the touring partner. What great memories. I got to take my dad and mom in the 80's in Kansas City when Herb Alpert toured then, Just as much fun after I grew up.

I love this song...loved it SO much that I put it on my phone. This song was the first song that I remembered playing on the Adult Standards station that used to play here in my local area before it converted to an News/Talk station. I used to love listening to the Adult Standards stations wherever I lived at and explore the rich history of music. Who knew that one song could serve as the beginning for something greater in life (an appreciation of the REAL classics).
