Can't tell you enough how much I appreciate your channel and videos. Thank you so much! You have helped me more than you can know. Now I have cayenne tinctures, lactucarium tinctures, thyme and rosemary tinctures, and I am working on growing plants to make more tinctures. Because of you, I know the difference and how to's of all the different types of medicinal delivery.

In the case of the mouse/rat ginkgo study you mentioned, people don't seem to realize that mice and rats only live a couple years. So giving a high dose of something to an animal for most of its life could be very problematic. I've seen people say "the rat in the experiment died 4-5 years into a study and that proves it's toxic!" So the rat lived a normal length life...

Context is king, if you don’t understand context, you will always be off in your understanding. People always have a habit to read their own thoughts in to the text and come out with a flawed interpretation. God bless everyone

Maybe another question to ask would be why were they doing the research and who paid for the research to be done.

This is a crash course on good research practice and concept application. I worked on double-blind research, and the chemists were always having to clarify with others how it's all about identical method, timing and materials...every day, for months to years. Only 1 change (variable) can be done at a time, and that's after the baseline is established between different chemists in one lab matching results of the identical tests on the same thing in other labs. And a different result had to be tested each time - even ambient humidity on a rainy day can tweak an outcome in consistency or appearance of a lotion, for example. But it's not repeatable, so it can be easily explained (because humidity and temp are recorded every time), and set aside as unrelated to the norm. So radical overdoses to mice for 2 years isn't indicative of anything other than precisely that, with the caveat that most mice die of cancer regardless of where they live... so a 2 year test on mega doses in mice has even more problems limiting that variable.

I do not believe in coincidence. I do believe that a higher power listens to us and can help us in our time of need. A situation has come to a head about herbal medicine in my life just yesterday. (Made me question if I should continue the course I’m on, kind of situation. A little chat with my voice of reason - husband of 35 years. And I’m back on track!) Hey Dr. Jones. Unfortunately inference is assumed with so many areas in life. Being able to dive in and understand what the questions are and how they were answered are so important. Some search engines seem to only put forth biased results. Seeking out other sources of info sure can assist in getting broader search results.

If you want good research on plants, you must start with nutrient dense soil, that hasn’t been treated with chemicals (fertilizer, pesticides, or herbicide) , this is what we do, for everything we grow.

That's why I'm leery about these studies sometimes. They aren't real world as to what you would be taking. Problem is they are used to skew perception, too often to squeeze out competition of the preferred pharma. Be wary is all I can say.

Good information! One thing I wonder about; is there a national directory of herbalists (that have some type of certification showing they they know what they're talking about) so people can look for someone near them? Do you/your organization have long-distance clients? I'm trying to move away from allopathic to natural medicine...but all I'm finding is NDs who simply replace the pharmaceutical pills with a couple dozen "natural" pills...that is NOT what I'm looking for!!!

Finding "active ingredients" to patent skews results of the studies done . We have no idea what synergistic protections and effects of all the other constituents of a plant , and a purified extract is at a possible toxic concentration as a result. It also may eliminate other active components that work together. I forgive them for they know not what they do....or do they !?

There is also the possibility that something in the extraction process causes cancer.
