Wunderschöne Interpretation dieses scheinbar idyllischen und wesentlich perfekt komponierten Meisterwerks mit seidigen Tönen aller Streichinstrumente und milden Tönen aller Blasinstrumente. Der unvergleichliche Maestro dirigiert das weltklassige Orchester im relativ schnellen Tempo und mit perfekt kntrollierter Dynamik. Einfach wunderbar!

HvK.... ein Genie, wenn auch menschlich schwierig und mit allein logischem Verhalten nicht zu erklären wie eben bei allen Genies. Aber man sollte dankbar sein dass es alle bar Jahrzehnte solche Menschen gibt.

Recorded in the Großes Festspielhaus in Salzburg during a concert of the 1987 Salzburg Festival in August 1987.

Neither the concert register for the Vienna Philharmonic nor the concert register for Herbert von Karajan list a performance of Wagner's Siegfried Idyll in Vienna in 1988. The timing of this performance is also exactly the same, i.e., 19'47, as that recorded and released by Deutsche Grammophon on DGG 423 613-2. Sorry. This is live from Salzburg in 08/1987.

Tempi disneyani. Ha fatto diventare un grande brano meditativo una marcetta dove la musica infinita di Wagner risolve con troppa fretta. Ricordiamoci che diretta da lui lo stesso brano durava anche 30 minuti. ❤

@@thomaskgeydan2528 Someone I read once called Karajan "an unreconstructed Nazi." That's pretty close to the heart of this guy. Birgit Nilsson, one of the greatest sopranos of all time (IMHO) said of him that though was was an excellent conductor, he was a "small man" as a human being. Totally self-obsessed. I do not own any recordings of him and will not buy any, either. I think the BPO finally had enough of him and kicked his ass out.

Is the piece that Wagner wrote for his wife, first performed on the staircase of their home on Christmas Day, Cosima Wagner's birthday had actually been the day before. Not bad, a husband who can write the Siegfried Idyll for you.

Non poteva essere nazista Wagner : Egli è nato tanto prima dell' ascesa; fu Hitler amandolo svisceratamente, ad eleggerlo musicista del regime; perciò divenne Wagner da quel tempo, ciò che alcuni "etichettano" in modo inadeguato.
